Unlocked bootloader kenn's 4.5.91 - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I was wondering, I have Kenn's 4.5.91 4.5 Beta, I wanted to flash back to stock. Would I use RSD to flash 1.26 then 1.56, 1.86, then finally 1.91? I also wanted to know how to get rid of that "unlocked" lettering when the phone was booting up for warrenty.
Thanks

I rsd back to 1.2.6 it took the unlock words away but not sure if the bl was still unlocked, but I rooted then updated to 1.5.7 and it kept root and ran the unlock again and the words unlocked came back...hope that gives u any kind of help

Cool, Ya, I think the bootloader is still locked doesn't matter if it still is, just wanted the words to be gone. Thanks

Let me know how that works for you

unlocked atrix 2.3 flash back to 2.2

Has any one made a safe way to flash back to 2.2 without bricking the phone ? I don't like 2.3 at all and would like to flash back till it comes out officaly and the bugs are gone.
Yes. I unlocked my AT&T Atrix to flash 2.3.4. I had no issues flashing 2.3.4 but didn't really like the ROM. I installed the (full) 1.83 SBF using RSD lite and had no issues with the downgrade.
Be sure you use the full SBF, if you use a service release you will run into issues.
I flashed the 4.1.83 SBF, but the "Unlocked" disappeared from the boot screen. I suppose that's good if you need to send your phone back for warranty service, hehe. However, I like to see that my phone is unlocked every time I reboot it so I just flashed the unlock SBF again to get it back. You just have to flash it, not go through the unlock ID and all that.

It's not as good as you think. The phone is still unlocked, the indicator just disappears. If you try to re-flash the unlock SBF, it won't write and you'll get a message that the phone is already unlocked.
Once unlocked, I'm pretty sure that it stays that way (unless Motorola re-locks it).

[Q] Does the bootloader remain unlocked after restoring to stock?

If I flash back to the stock firmware using the motorola sbf files, will my bootloader remain unlocked? I flashed back and flashed the unlocking sbf file. When my phone booted up it said unlocked, even though I didn't run the fastboot commands. I then ran the fastboot commands anyway and it said the bootloader was already unlocked. So will the unlocked bootloader always remain unlocked?
No. It's locked again

Ok, thanks. I wasn't planning on relocking, I was just curious. So next time I won't even have to flash the sbf? The sbf just makes the unlocking text show up when it boots up, but it should still allow me to do stuff like install the new CWM recovery without that, right?
Another thing, when I flashed that sbf, I didn't go into RSD mode. I was in a hurry and I forgot so I just ran the RSD program, and it detected my phone, so I clicked start. I realized later that I hadn't booted up into RSD mode...
Should I be worried? Was the RSD mode just an unnecessary precaution?
You can't relock..............it's a hardware unlock (fuse lock). When you unlock a fuse burns out, and that's end of story.
If you flash back to a different firmware the word "unlocked" will go away, but you are still unlocked. You can unlock again to make the word "unlocked" reappear on the boot screen.
EU sbf on AT&T possible?
I am going to use an unlocked AT&T Atrix in Europe.
I am on 1.83 firmware with root (made with gingerbreak to get rid of AT&T boot animation etc.).
If I go on with unlocking the bootloader, can I flash any european sbf/rom? Are there any simfree european tock sbf/rom-s out there, and which is best? What about the french 2.1.1 sbf?
I just need a stable stock firmware without the AT&T limitations, do not want changing roms all the time.
Also, do I get sw updates if I do this?

4.5.91 Update

Hello Atrix users! I recently just received this phone about a week ago and have rooted, unlocked the bootloader and also flashed the cwm. Now, whenever I try to update via OTA or sd card I get an error stating that the update has failed. I'm very new to Android phones and I was wondering what the procedure for updating would be? BTW I'm on 1.8.3
Thanks a lot
first of all i dont think your suppose to rsd or ota after you have unlocked the BL you have to flash GB through moto-fastboot or fastboot when u have GB on your external SD and run the commands through a command window, GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND and so is XDA just a do a search and you should find wat your looking for,
wat i have done is i was already on 1.8.3 and unlocked the BL, but i forgot to root the phone, and i couldnt root idk why, so i had to use the aroot method(do quick search on it) which had me rsd back to 1.2.6 then reboot, after that the words UNLOCKED where gone, so i think rsd back to 1.2.6 either took the unlock away or just got rid of the words and BL was still unlocked idk, but any way did a wi-fi ota update to 1.5.7 than ran afterupdate.bat and it retained the root, then just ran the unlock again with rsd rebooted and the words unlocked were back, but im not on 1.8.3, idk if i should try to ota to it, or rsd back to the beginning which is 1.2.6 and just ota all the way to the offical newest update of gingerbread then unlock the bl again and do the preinstall root method, thats where im stuck at,
That seems like a ton of work just for the OTA. I unlocked my boot loader and flash the cherry blur rom (v.1.4) this was the easiest way I have found to get 2.3.3 on my phone and without blur over taking the interface.

from wat i have read you should be good with wat ever u do with rsd or flashing back to a stock rom AS LONG AS YOU HAVENT UPDATED TO THE NEWEST OTA UPDATE SENT TO YOU OTA BUT IF YOU HAVE ACCEPTED THE OTA UPDATE YOU WILL HARD BRICK YOUR PHONE IF U TRY FLASHING BACK TO A STOCK LIKE 1.2.6 i think that is how it goes from wat i have read

OTA 2.3.4 applied. Few queries before I try to do pudding and unlock bootloader

Ok here is the case.
I have couple of AT&T atrix here which belongs to friends. I am going to point down what is the current situation so someone out there help / warn me before I do something stupid.
1. I had unlocked the bootloader, rooted the phones and enabled sideloading on 1.8.3
2. OTA was flashed on these phones as soon as it was made available.
3. I received no warning or failed update. The update was successful and phone booted fine into gingerbread.
4. New bootloader was flashed hence I lost the Unlocked bootloader.
Now this is what I plan to do.
1 Use pudding to unlock the bootloader again.
2. I have seen people who get soft brick when they do this on OTA which is recoverable.
Now my question is, can i directly flash the new 2.3.4 SBF which is pudding + root + unlocked bootloader using RSD?
If yes, can I install latest CWM after I flash the new combined SBF using RSD. I know I can recover from soft brick by unlocking bootloader and flashing the SBF again as it goes back to fastboot after softbrick ( i recovered mine from soft brick couple of days back ). Just wanted some clarification regarding this particular situation.
I am not exactly a noob, but there are conflicting responses when I tried to search this. Thanks in advance,
Also can someone tell me where to check the status of efuse on atrix (location, original value and modified value to expect in case of blown fuse). All phones are rooted. So wanted to check if I have blown any fuse or not.

Out of the loop, help?

Hey Everyone,
It seems that since the bootloader got unlocked, things with the atrix has skyrocketed and there is many things I'm unfamiliar with. I was unfamiliar back then too but managed to get a pseudo rom running.
Anyways, I need help going from a Greyblurred atrix to an updated Atrix with gingerbread , unlocked bootloader , and rooted.
It would be great if anyone could point me in the right direction.\
Thanks ahead of time!
Well I am assuming you are not unlocked, correct? also I will assume you have not done the OTA (Over The Air) update of gingerbread (2.3.5)..
First off, if none of the above has been done at all you need to go here, IHOP and read these directions over, and over, and over before you start to follow them and execute what they say..
after you do that, or if you need further clarification just write back here
I used this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182871 its an auto scripter u will soft brick fix is built in READ EVERYTHING first. Mine actually froze rite after brick and wouldnt allow me to follow instructions exactly,if it happens to u dont freak.just pull battery for a few moments reboot into fastboot and use the fix

This.
Ahhh, school got super busy and still never got the chance to do this.
So it seems I can use RSDlite to just flash to an older sbf and go through the updates to the now 2.3.4 and then unlock from there and get CM7?
I don't need to back up any apps or anything so can I go straight to flashing SBF right over Greyblur?

as long as you've never done the OTA before, you can flash a froyo SBF and go back to stock that way.
there's also an unlocked bootloader for froyo in the pudding thread, you don't have to update to 2.3.4 to unlock and get CM7 (which is gingerbread anyways)
just go to the International House of Pudding thread in the dev section and read up on the right .sbf to flash to unlock your bootloader.

That's correct, I think I'm still on 1.8.3? Though because I'm running GreyBlur the phone thinks im on 1.5.3 or which ever was before 1.8.3
