I was wondering if I could use my Streak as one monitor for dual monitors?
Does Streak support video in?
If yes, how can i do it?
Thanks.
Yes. Is there a app that does this? Thank you for any reply...
I don't know how well it works but iDisplay is designed to turn android into a second monitor via wifi.... I think its like $8 and can be found on the market. Good luck and if you find something let us know.

it's not the program. The IR hardware on XDA2 is not of commericial grade. The IR signal is too weak to be picked up by the TV IR receiver.
use novii remote. Its not free but it works for xda2
Novii Remote works?

hi, u mean u got XDA2 to work as a decent TV remote control?
care to share your experience?
I have used it (and actually helped them do some extensive beta testing to make it more compatible with the XDA II) and think it's "ok".
You are restricted to using their layouts but you can freely program them to what you like.
Range is rather limited tho. I can sit on my sofa and just about control the TV but the Sky box will not see the signal. I have to lean forward a couple of feet for it to pick up the signal.
I'd say it's effective range is nearly 6 feet.

Hey, I've to quote myself. I have just tested the Trial version and
it works!
The caveat is, that it must be level to the IR receiver, and I've only test it to a range of 2.5m (which is where my sofa is).
I used to have an HD2 and there was an app/cab called 'WiFiRemoteAccess', saves plugging in HD2 to computer when transferring cabs, music etc; is there an Android alternative for streak?
Try aFile Lite, free on the market, very easy to set up. Or if you have a rooted Streak try WebKey.
That's a good app, thanks
Why did Dell use that cable connection?
it looks like its pdmi connector, a new standard (but dell didnt tell anyone, probably so that could ignore that licence as well as GPL)

It's a 'nightmare' connector is what it is! heard terrible stories of iphone/itouch owners breaking off pins
Ok now that is out of the way.
I have Navionics Lake Maps loaded on my TB and would like to use my HP laptop
as a monitor while on the boat. Without getting lost and FRIED for posting this can anyone give me a simple yes/no if this can be done and if so just how?
Remember I"m a NOOOOOOOOOB.
The Thunderbolt doesn't have a TV out so unless there is an app that I'm not aware of then no you can't. Good Idea though.
Thanks, I guess I will have to spend$3000 for a gps unit that is the same size as laptop now
The thunderbolt supports DLNA.. I know there's an app in the market for it but I can't think of it :/

Wouldnt it make sence to buy a program that would run those maps on your laptop? I am not exactly familiar with Navionics lake maps but if they are in standard format than you should be able to load the into some other program. If your laptop doesnt have have gps built-in then you can get a USB dongle. HERE is a link as an example. It might be a little cheaper to do it this way as opposed to buying a garmin or midland marine system. Just a thought.
Ok so I've got my Photon plugged into my TV via an HDMI cable and I want to know how I can make the phone think that it's plugged into a Dock and open the Webtop app so I can use it. I've been without a laptop for almost 2 weeks now and it's killing me! LOL!
SO.........does anybody know how to do this or if it's even possible?
If the "Firefox Browser" App is actually built into the Dock itself then I guess I'm screwed unless someone has an answer.
Thank you all in advance for any help. I greatly appreciate it!

I'm looking for a dock for my Optimus G that will allow me to hook up a keyboard and mouse or at least just a keyboard to it. Does anyone know of a dock like this or if it is even possible for the Optimus G? I know there is a dock like this for the Note 2 but its over $100 and that is a lot to throw away if it doesn't work. If anyone has some insight let me know.
Use an MHL adapter
You can use any blue tooth mouse and keyboard. Try a blue tooth keyboard with a track pad. And use any MHL cable to display the content onto a screen.

Thanks for the responses guys ill look into the different options. Do you know also if there is a way to have the phone connected to a laptop and almost work like a vm of the phone on the desktop where you could have it in its own window and run everything like email and texting off of it through the computer? I tried googling and researching this on my own but didn't come up with much. It may be because i don't know the right terminology to look for.

LG makes a program called On Screen Phone that will allow you to see everything you're doing on your phone in real-time as well as use your mouse to control it. There will be a bit of lag, but I think it works well enough. Apparently some phones can do this over WiFi, but ours only has the option to do it over usb. I only played with it some this past weekend, so others may know more about it.

Cool! Thanks for that. I just tried it and it seems to work nearly as well as the USB (at least in my few minutes of playing with it). Is there a way to get sound to work through the PC for video playback?
yeah for the most part it works without issue, other times can't seem to get it to connect by Wi-Fi for the life of me, USB always works tho... I briefly had the same thought as far as audio output but due to the varying delay between device and monitor the mouths would never match even if you delayed the audio it'd need constant adjustments because the video delay varies in light of that mhl would be the way to go for audio/ video or miracast but good luck with that

I found this while looking yesterday and figured others may be interested in as well. The only problem I've found is that there is no ringtone or alert for new text messages other than the name of the tab changing in the browser to alert you. Other than that it works pretty well. Airdroid. Thanks for the suggestions guys, appreciate it.
