[Q] Battery stuck at 1200mAh maximum - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My stock battery is showing maximum of 1200mAh.
I would like to know how do I calibrate battery to go back to 1650mAh?
What's the correct procedure for doing this?
Thanks!

If u r using battery monitor widget for this u need to set the battery capacity yourself . 1200 is just the default value. U need to change it to 1650 in the settings

Oh, ok thanks. Didn't notice that. How can I check if my battery is 100% as it should be?

Battery temp reading location in phone?

Where does the phone get the battery temperature? Is the sensor in the phone or battery? Is it actually battery temp or CPU temp?

I'm pretty sure it's the battery. All phones out have a temp monitor on the battery for safety purposes I'm pretty sure.

Since you think it's battery temp, where is that sensor located?
I purchased the 2200mah battery that is found on ebay and I noticed that the temp is rock solid between 24-26C. With the OEM it would fluctuate between 24-37C. Is the OEM battery defective?
nope, the oem battery is ok. I had it at 57C
tell me plz, what is the real capasity of 2200? is it same as original battery? or much less?
p.s. the sensor is inside the battery.

Seems like it drains a little quicker than the stocker. I need to use it a little longer to see. I'm guessing the temp reading is probably suspect.

What is the standard mV battery of the Galaxy Ace?

Recently I've installed the BatteryCalibration 'cause my phone doesn't turn on for a long time after installed CyanogenMod. After the installation of this app, I saw the mV level on this app, and my maximum always appears 3 or 4 mV.
Looking at the Google, various cellphones with Android, be they Android 2.2 or Android 2.3, have the 1000+ mV, and my aparell doesn't have this, have 3 mV.
It's normal? My battery lasts only four or five hours totaly, it's not use, it's use more sleep time.
PS: If I change the battery, my mV grows?
This is an bug in Ace, it doesn't shows right mV for the battery, you can find the right value in /sys/bus/platform/devices/msm-battery/power_supply/battery/voltage_now and it isn't an effect of battery calibration.
You can see the real voltage typing *#0228#

type *#*#0228#*#* and you will get all important values...check it out now!!!
Real battery voltages should appear as 4200mv charged. Ace is screwed up at that by showing 4.
Also the Ace can't display accurate battery percentage, hence the big percentage jumps.

Have you do battery calibration right?
Use your ace until the battery getting low, then wipe battery stats, and use your ace until it turns off by its self. Finally, charge your phone (power off) 'til full. Do it twice.
I recommend you to use battery calibration app. Get it in market.

Some ROMs did cause serious battery drainage problem. Use some other ROM i suggest.

Then try flashing stock rom. If the problem still persist, I guess there's something wrong with the battery. Buy a new battery, or if you're not sure just bring your ace to Samsung Service Centre and let them see the problem.

[Q] Screen using 50% of battery

Hi
I have rooted my phone and installed CM11 Nightly + Kitkat on my Xperia P. I noticed all the times Screen consuming 50% of battery and due to this my battery is getting drained quickly and its not lasting for atleast a day.. Can someone help me to fix this issue and use my mobile normal?

Hey, did you remember to calibrate your battery after flashing the ROM?
Also it's pretty normal that the screen consumes a lot of battery. But if it isn't on for long periods of time and still drains there's something wrong.
You can check what is waking your device using this app
Another suggestion would be that don't use auto brightness, it drains the battery quite a bit.

Yes I did callibrate my battery but not sure whether i did correct. Can you let me know how to calibrate my battery?
Let me try with that wakelockdetector apps.. I didnt use the auto brightness... even i tried reducing the brightness to 0% but no luck....

Well you probably did it correctly, not that complicated. Use the calibration app
I got it from this XDA thread and it always seems to work for me.
Just make sure to charge to 100%, unplug the charger and then press calibrate.
Anyway leave the wakelockdetector running for a day or so and then see what is waking your device the most.
Also check what governors and io schedulers you are using. That can make quite a difference.

Thanks. Let me try with thie Calibrator apps and check with wakelockdetector as well... Can you let me know which governor is best for battery and performance?

It's hard to say which is best. You'll have to test them to suit your own needs.
Try using hotplug or smartassV2. They have a nice balance between battery and performance.
Currently I'm using hotplug, I find it has better battery and the performance is sufficient.
If you want more info on governors look in this thread.

Change Battery Capacity

Hello and sorry for bothering, does anyone know how to change battery capacity ?
Thank You.
Er, change the battery to one with more capacity or one with less...
Not that I would do that...

So that's a 5000mah battery?
You've done well to fit it in the battery bay!
I'm curious
Do you think it's using the extra capacity?
So is it using 0-5000, or maybe it's charging to 5000 then discharging to 1000 and shutting down
Or maybe it only charges to 4000?
If it's not indicating the charge level accurately I'd naively assume you'd need to use a custom kernel, though I'm out of my depth in terms of which could help
You're probably best to leave well alone and just blindly enjoy the extra capacity!
