Hey guys
I have a huge problem!
My phone fell into the water and some time past before i could get it out. I took out the battery and put it in a bag of rice.
I had it in there for a week and now I connected it to the power cable to charge it. At first it worked fine, but then it got stuck. I took the battery out and reinserted it.
Now it will only turn on, but won't boot into the OS but instead just show a huge battery with a power logo inside.
anyone know what this means?
thanks in advance!

okay so i have a hd2 with 2.08 hspl and everything as of yesterday after my 2.12 radio flash everything worked fin. but when i started charging it i noticed it didnt show the usb connection when it charges. well it had 9% left and i fell asleep i wont up and it was completely off. im pretty sure the radio disabled the charging ability or whatever when i took my dad to the airport at 4 i looked up a little bit and saw i should take the battery out for awhile then try? i did that and i got it to bootloader with USB but it wont sync. i then reset it and tried to turn it on it started to turn on then died i think the battery is dead cuz of this whole radio thing
so i guess my question is how do i fix it? do i need to install a Rilphone.dll? or go back to my old radio? if so how do i go back to my old radio. then again i could be all wrong
***update i got it into bootloader with usb again im going to leave it for awhile and see if i can get a charge***
****update 2, i guess i can charge it enough in bootloader mode, so how do i enable charging again so i dont have to charge in only bootloader mode?****
No need to go to boot loader to charge. Just keep the phone switched off and charge your phone. The LED will come up in a few seconds. Leave it to charge full till it becomes green as usual. Try putting your device in boot loader & flash YOUR REGION STOCK ROM. Then flash any custom ROM if you wish.
you sure? cuz it never charged before when it was plugged in normally, it just went till it died
take the battery out, plug in USB, then re apply battery. It should shortly begin to charge without trying to turn itself on (which it does if you simply plug usb in whilst battery is in.)
I doubt it was the radio, i'd be more inclined to think you
1 - bent a battery pin
or
2 - faulty hardware.
wait bent battery pin that would make alot more sense.
*checking pins*
it seems as if the middle one (ground) is bent up a little i pushed it down so that it was touching the battery and it worked. im just curious if it broke completely is it possible to replace these?

Looks like it would be a crazy tight solder job if it did, probably just as easy to get the whole device replaced.
My Easy Fix
So my phone HD2 will not turn on or charge when plugged it in. I was freaking out. 2 days without, until i found a thread that told me to take out the battery. Hold down and press the Red power button for 30 seconds. While holding it down put battery back in.. careful you are connecting battery pins to battery when doing this. Then plug back into the wall power not PC. Walah like magic MY once bricked T-Mobile turned back on. ( worked after the 6th try)
Best of Luck.

Thanks for sharing this info. this trick worked for me too.
The phone went past the boot screen n showed me windows mobile logo.
It did restart again once or twice. Then I kept the power button *pressed* continuosly till the phone booted up completely
sorta helped

I received a HD2 in a trade, and it was set up for android. I couldnt charge it, and when I turned it off.. it would just restart by itself... so i thought maybe if I put WM6.5 back on it, it would fix it, nope. This trick DID fix my charging issue, but unfortunately, NOT its restarting when I turn it off. So.. anyone have thoughts on that? lol
Hey guys. on saturday night. the hero my gf had was dropped into a toilet.
i managed to get it back the following day
and ive head it in a bag or rice ever since then
i took it out this morning to have a look and i tried power button and nothing happened.
i plgged it into usb to see what was up and the charge light came on. however when i press the power button the charge light goes off and the phone does nothing
ive included pictures of the phone below.
PICS
what are recomendations
I'm anything but an expert, but it's likely the water has got into the screen area and other parts and possibly short circuited it?
Hi,
My phone took a quick swim, so I pulled it out of the bath took the battery out as quick as I could. I then took the phone apart to help the drying process.....all good
Let it dry for two days and put it back together......Now the problem
Basically the phone boots up but says the battery is empty and I get the critical batt level message and after 20 seconds it shuts down...during the 20 or so seconds the phone works normally. When I pull in my charger (with the phone off) I get the 100% battery icon but am unable to turn the phone on. If I plug the charger in as the phone is booting, I get the charging icon in the top right......but it still shuts itself down.
When it shuts down it is with the Galaxy sII splash screen....not a straight shut down like it has absolutely no power
To me this looks like a software problem - but was wondering if any of you guys could help
Thanks in advance

Try with another battery?
.....forgot to add that I have tested the battery in another phone and all is ok - and have tried a known working battery in my phone......same with either battery so I can rule that out
Hello,
Yesterday I damaged the phone with water, after that I removed the black glass panel and tried to dry it with hairdryer. I also put it in a plate with rice and let it drain the water overnight. Today I tried to wake it up:
When I plug in the charger, the phone automatically turns on. It only shows the logo and the battery status, but after that it turns off. If I push the power button, the phone vibrates 3 times and the whole thing repeats - it shows logo, battery status, then it turns off. Battery seems Charged, but it looks like phone cant find it, because If I unplug the charger and try to turn the phone on, it does nothing, like the battery is dead.
Is this issue common to all water damaged phones? Do I need to buy new battery or just wait more days? :/
I also recorded a video about the whole thing, please take a look.

I would try leaving it a couple more days to ensure it is dry then try again. But charge it first before trying again.

Yeah, will try it, I hope it will be fine quickly. Cant do anything without my phone lol. thanks for the answer!
So I have an odd issue here... I have a tmobile v10 that suddenly stopped working. Can't boot up or anything anymore. Here's some events (not in order) that have happened. I dropped my phone about 6 months ago and cracked the screen. Was fine up until about a month ago. I pulled it out of my pocket one day and it was off. Thought I had accidentally turned it off while in my pocket, so I went to power it back on, but nothing. It wouldn't boot up at all. Thought my battery died so I plugged it in, but again, nothing. for the next couple of days I was able to randomly get it to power up and boot up to the main home screen. After a few seconds it would freeze and then shut off on it's on, sometimes rebooting automatically, but never making it passed the "LG" splash screen. Any who, before all this the phone ran fine, no issues. I didn't update anything or add any odd ball apps. I got it to show some life when plugging into the computer via the lg usb cable with the battery removed, but as soon as I threw the battery back in and try to reboot, nothing.
The other odd thing I noticed is that when I threw a charged battery in it, it would kill the life of the battery (verified by placing a charged battery in the dead v10 and then after trying to boot, removing and placing back in my good v10 and checking battery life). It would always say it was either 0% or 5% when I put it back in the good v10. The batteries will still charge on the good v10 so I don't think the batteries are bad (one is a brand new LG brand battery).
I'm leaning towards the prongs being shot on the battery connector that's on the motherboard, rather than the charging port. Anyone ever have this issue or even hear of it? I did some searching online but realized I didn't even know what to look up to find what I was looking for.
Any help will be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.
Sorry for the story, just trying to give as much details as possible. I'm sure I forgot some stuff, but I'll edit/update as I remember them. Thanks.
