So i like monitering my Task Manager to see which apps use the most RAM/CPU. I frequently see Handcent up to 10/15% CPU usage. As a moderate texter, do you think i should add Handcent to the auto-end list and risk missing text notifications, or should I deal with the CPU usage?

I keep it running and use rom tool box to lower CPU sliders down through out the day, then raise it to show it off to people haha
But then again I always have my phone plugged in when I'm by an outlet.

Has anyone else had the, I guess problem, where when you send a text that exceeds one page, it now instead of sending it as one message send them as parts and recieves them as parts?

In the original post of the Eclipse thread it does say that it will split them after 160 characters.
Updated MMS.apk
-Set default notifications to always vibrate
-Set default to show full time stamps
-Set user agent to Bionic
-Set Back to all threads rather than taking you back to the home screen
-Set default to split msgs over 160 to send in multiple texts rather than mms.

Oh ok thanks. Didn't notice that. I've looked and I suppose there is no setting for that.
There should be. Atleast on 1.3 its like the fifth option down if you hit the squares button when you're in the messaging app.

Just curious what the benefit of setting user agent to bionic would be?
Sorry for the hijack
No clue, I went to GOSMS because of the messenger app but that was back in 1.1 or 1.2.

This was a setting that was implemented into 2.0.X. I would like the option to change the setting. I don't see that option in the settings anymore. I do remember seeing it prior to this update though... Hmmm...
Has anyone even tried switching the mms.apk from an older version?
Just rename the current one to .bak and push the old one to /system and reboot.
If it don't work just undo it ...worth a shot
Open the mms settings and change it back.

that setting isn't in there anymore ;(
Yeah I do not see any option in Eclipse 2.0.2 for turning off the split texts. But I can confirm that Third party SMS apps that have the option will send just one message.
I'm posting this here because no one in the x2 forum knows anything on this but my friend has a thunderbolt and on his notification bar it has all the apps he's using and a music section to change your songs. Its a rather cool addition to the phone and I was wonder how I could get this on the x2

Anyone have any clue about this?

Not sure about the apps list, but Widgetsoid lets you put music controls in your notification bar.
If you long press on notifications I should bring them up

As far as the music controls in the drop down menu, it believe that is part of the HTC Music app.
As for the recent apps in the dropdown menu, that would take some serious code editing. It is a part of HTC Sense, which is deeply integrated in the Android OS on HTC devices. The best thing you could do is to try to find a x2 dev that is really good with editing java/smali/xml and see if they can figure something out.
I don't think there is a way to port it over, so it would probably have to be built from the ground up.
All the good x2 devs seem to be trying to un lock the bootloader lol

Hey guys, quick question. When I turn off notifications in the stock text messaging, I don't get audio notifications in Handcent app, only visual notifications. Is there a setting I'm missing that will allow the notifications only in Handcent?

Have u frozen any apps and is it only handcent
Haven't asked the developers. Thought I would post in case anyone else was having the issue. No, I haven't frozen anything and I'm not sure what you mean by "only handcent".

In HandCent, under "settings," "notification settings," "notification sound," make sure you don't have it set to silent. Use the "test notification" button to make sure it's working, and your phone volume is up.
Also, forget which setting, but enabling "group threading" gathers group message replies into a single thread (like an iPhones group messaging)- an added bonus i came across that's pretty nice.

Think I found it. Under Handcent settings/ application settings, there is an option to set it as the default engine and disable the stock messaging. Sounds like that was what I was looking for. We'll see.

I literally just set this up on mine. Turn off notifications in the stock app...and by default handcent will notify you both visually (through quick reply) and audibly. If in handcent your notifications are activated properly (which is pretty easy to figure out) make sure your phone isn't just on silent under settings. Sounds silly but it happens to the best of us. I never had to modify the setting you mentioned in your last post.

Thanks.I'm pretty sure I had all that correct before and I wasn't getting the audible alerts. If the way I have it now doesn't work, I'll go back and try all that again.

Does this phone have a task manager integrated "out of box"? i know my former Droid 3 had one, which worked pretty good. i mean ending apps after 2mins when screen entered in stand by. or how can we choose to do that?
I know smart actions you can set it up to do that.
Sent from my DROID RAZR MAXX
thanks. can you develop that?
It comes stock on your phone.
