Hello
Its time to do a new custom rom again, my question is that all the roms have taken out the sound notifications full charge and minimum charge battery.
Is there a way for me to put them back in ?
Use Root Explorer and follow this path,
System-media-audio-ui-TW_Low_Battery.ogg, that .now there must be something sitting next to that .ogg extension (could be .bak), that's why it's silent, to get it back just remove the extension, whatever it is, and make it .ogg. Same goes for Full charge notification.
Besides, why on earth a Custom ROM disabled those sounds by default, such a bad idea IMO.
Regards.
Hi
All those TW_Battery.ogg have no extension they all end in .ogg
Oops. No idea then.
designgears probably removed the sound using something like this:

You can always use the Tasker app from the market to play an audio clip when the battery is fully charged. It is ROM-agnostic.

I wish I could put this question in a more thought provocative way... but the problems very simple and random:
I've been running the latest evil fascination rom on inmuts -50uv kernel for over a week now with spectacular results in every aspect of the rom. (honestly one of the most satisfying rom packages imo) *with outstanding battery life I might add*
The weird: when I first set up the phone, I assigned on of the standard android notification sounds for my text messages. A day or two ago, it changed on its own and when I went back to the settings, the only two options I got were "silent and facebook pop"... (*note: I don't even have Facebook app installed and have not a long time ago.. I just use the browser)
This same problem occurred in my default Clock app as well and so now the only sound option I am able to assign for any of my alarms is "silent' ...irony kills me
Any ideas as to what might be going on? I use custom ringtones but I have never made a custom notification folder on my sdcard so whatever must be clashing/happening might be internal.
Taking a blind guess, but I'm guessing the facebook app created the notification folder on your sdcard where the "facebook pop" resides. And for a different reason you probably have a ".nomedia" file in your system/media folder. Delete that file to regain your original sounds.
Resolved!
Thank you so much, that did do the trick. Both the .nomedia file as well as the facebook sound file that was creeping around in the system/media directory.
It would be nice to know how it decided to revert the settings on its own...
Glad it worked. I had the same issue when upgrading to the latest evil fascination rom using the latest patch.
Don't know why it happened but was an easy fix
Does anyone else think that the Xperia Ray shutdown/poweroff sequence is a bit annoying? First, it's too long - who needs to confirm twice that they want to switch off their phone? Then it signs off by vibrating which I find really irritating - I'm a committed vibration hater!
Anyone else share this opinion and done anything to remedy the situation? If so, do let me know.
I'm sure the vibration thing's sorted out easily by removing an .apk file or something somewhere.. My Ray's rooted/locked bootloader/ ICS 4.0.4 btw.
go to general section, this is the development thread, don't open up a new thread just to ask this
This how shut down works on every single Android device I have and I really doubt it can be changed...
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
Sure it can be changed, I got rid of that (bloody horrible) O2 closedown animation by deleting an .apk file or two from the internal memory. Removing the shutdown vibration should be just as easy.
It's hardcoded in the operating system (probably in services.jar), it's not an apk that you could just delete
Exactly. Any animation can be deleted as it is added by the carrier or manufacturer but the vibration is there in Vanilla Android.
The length will depend on the phone specs, the ROM and the number of process the phone has to shut down (which changes from user to user) so you'll never get anything faster unless Google makes some changes.
On my Atrix running CM7, it's taking 6 to 8 seconds to shut down and the vibration is kind of a an alert saying that it all went fine. Perfect if you shut it down and then put it in your pocket : you know it shut down without having to check it. It's a feature.
Its possible to shutdown with one touch in 1 sec but its like turning off ur PC by pulling out power cable... I would not recommend since OS is saving ur present Settings for Next boot...
If u want to try then check Quickboot app from Play store.. it does the same thing...
That's fine - thanks all for the replies!
I am new to my rezound. My rezound is about less than a week old. Is there any way to increase the vollume on this device for the ringtone and notifications like when you receive a text or email? If its in my pocket and im driving somewhere forget it. I wont hear it. The vibration motor isnt stong too compared to my old droid 2. I love this rezound phone. But i am not happy with the voullume sounds. I tried to do some digging and read that its because of the ice cream sandwich software download. it wasnt like this with gingerbread? If not can I go back to gb. I dont know what advantages ics does over gb. but if im in another room than my phone is at home i wont hear it. I dont think there are apps to my knowledge that increase ringtone and notifications. I appreciate any help on this matter. Cause I am still trying to figure this one out. Thanks for your help.
S-off your phone and you can go back to GB if you want and also you might want to try Newts rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1501512 when I tried it, volumes were super loud with it.

I am a little confused on what u said. I appreciate ur help though. I am a newb with the software thing part of the phone. Can you please explain to me step by step what I have to do? I don't mind going back to gb or doing what ever you had when your phone was super loud. Thanks again.
Not really much you can do unless your phone is actually broken (in which case get a new one). Maybe make a louder ringtone?
Try these ideas:
Go to Settings --> Sound, General --> Volumes --> verify that your 'Ringtone & notifications' is turned up to the volume you desire. Call yourself from another phone to test the volume setting. If this is already set to 'max' and you're still unhappy with the volume level, try the next suggestion.
Go to Settings --> Sound --> Incoming Calls, Pocket mode --> check the box (doing so will increase the ringer volume while your phone is in your pocket or handbag). If you've already tried this suggestion, try the next one.
If that doesn't work, change your ringtone to one that's loud and high pitched. The higher pitched ring tones 'sound' louder because you can hear them over the background noise of say, a car, or a shopping center.
Do you have problems hearing people when you're on a phone call? If not, then your speaker is ok and your issue is more than likely, the ringtone itself. Some ringtones are barely audible. I've tried a few that I really liked, but some of them were nearly impossible to hear - ever. The ringtone I use now is called Standard 3 on my phone. I've collected ringtones from each of my phones over time so I've added a bunch. You might not have the same one. For me, Standard 3 is super loud and I have to remember to turn my phone ringer down when I go into a restaurant or quiet store. It sometimes scares the bejeebies outta me! Lol!
I'm using stock ICS and there's nothing wrong with the volume on my phone so it's unlikely that the ROM is the problem on yours. Try different ringtones and you might find one that's interesting and loud. Zedge is an app you can load from the Android Market and you can download tons of free ringtones, wallpapers and other cool stuff. I'm sure you can find something there that you'd like.
Good luck!
I'm on a rooted S5 on Touchwiz running Xposed and a handful of modules. No vibration, including custom ones I can create, are close to loud enough for me to hear at work, which is a problem because at my job I get a lot of calls at random times from my boss. I have tried using Vibe, which actually allowed me to download a vibration loud enough to hear at work, but it replaces your SMS service's vibration notification, and it constantly puts itself into silent. I have not been able to find where the vibration is downloaded on my phone using Androzip or through my computer via USB, I am under the impression Vibe is not set up to allow you to export the ringtones you download. I am new to rooted phones, so I do not know my way around my system well enough to know if this is the case or not. I tried downloading a loud wav vibration file, but it is only available as a text notification sound, not a vibration. I do not want to have to go in and change my ringer and my notification tone and back every time I go to work, on lunch, and leave the building if I do not have to. Do any of you know how I can either edit my vibration setting to apply one of the ones I have already found, where I can download a very loud vibration tone my phone will actually recognize and let me apply, or if there is another app such as Vibe or an Xposed module that is actually working? I've been looking for almost a week now, I figured it was time to throw out all the details and ask. If anyone is able to help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it. What could be better than the appreciation of a guy with one post?
No expert by any means but im really having a hard time wrapping my head around this one. My phone (Blu Life One x2) is rooted (as you can see in the video), i can make changes to it as rooting an android would allude to, but whenever i make a change to system based file, folder permission anything at the root the phone just hard stops and i have to do a hard reboot. I'd love to know whats going on here.
Im trying to follow a tutorial to make my phone ring louder in the video. I get to the media xml, try to change a permission and poof! It also happens if i just open the file and try to edit it. Once i save it, phone does the same thing. No changes committed. Video is a onedrive video. If it gets wonky i'll upload to youtube.
