Hi all, i will make this short.
i got a samsung galaxy vibrant t959 from ebay. It came with 2.2.1 and with i9000 firmware.
I reboot it to t959 firmware with 2.1 with odin .
But now it turn off if it hit lockscreen.
Btw when it turn on still show gt i9000 samsung then vibrant samsung, then "stick together", and finaly the s logo.

so u odin to stock right?...since it shows g9000 I am assuming it has GB bootloader...but anways wt do u wanna do?...if u wanna install froyo bootloader then here is a link...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117990

well what i want at the end is that it stop turning off everytime i hit the lockscreen button. i was thinking that do to the 2 bootloader was the cause of the bug "the turning off at lockscreen"

R u saying it turns off ur phone when u hit lockscreen button?...sry if I m little slow can't understand what exactly is ur issue...

I root it using the guide in here to make it 2.1 As factory release it but it still have the gi 9000 loader and the t959. And it still turn off at anytime that the phone locks itself

1) odin to stock
2) install froyo bootloader
3) root
4) rom manager and install CWM recovery
5) install custom rom personally using (Bionix v 1.3.1 with bali 1.8.8UV kernel)
before you install any custom ROM i would recommend stay on stock and see if the problem still occurs if it does...then most likely it's a hardware problem...that's my guess...GOOD LUCK...

hi, i root odin 2.1. but it still turn off everytime......

hi all, i try to root directly to t959uvkb5.tar but it missing the dbdata.rfs.
my question is the only one with dbdata.rfs is the t-mobile .tar file?? and i should root to stock then flash the t959uvkb5.tar (no re-partition) ?? and if that is the case can i make a .tar file from othe working vibrant (2.2) to root my phone using that .tar???

What are you trying to do? If you are just reflashing your phone to factory, all you need is that .pit file in the pit section, and that.tar file in the pda section. Everything else is included.

I need all possible files for vibrant, because it suffered from water damage.

Yeah, if it was water damaged, and was powered on while in the water, im not sure any amount of files will fix it. If it was powered off, I would suggest pulling the battery and letting it dry out for several days.

Using odin to flash stock doesn't necessarily make it phone stock physically

You have to flash a gingerbread bootloader, they're in the dev section...

I have GB bootloader already. If I odin the bootloader while Im on Simply Stock JVT will I have to flash the ROM over?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda premium
If you want the i900 gone you'll have to flash back to froyo boot loaders, but then you will have rainbows on your 2.3 ROM
Sent from my T959 using XDA App
Development section, page 2, Custom gingerbread bootloaders for vibrant. Read the op, but flashing bootloaders via odin is verrrry dangerous. Id probly just leave it alone, getting the fail message after flashing will get your heart beating.
I think its best I leave it alone until im ready to do more flashing. It does really bother me though.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda premium
If you read the bootloader op there is a jfd file that i think takes the i9000 logo off and back to vibrant. I dont know this for a fact but maybe someone else has done this, and could confirm. Its between gingerbread and froyo on the zip download link. Be sure

Please help bootloop

Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44794712
And 2 posts down I explain what I did
Flash one of Fishman's 2.2 ROMs, he has Odin versions. After that flash a 2.2 kernel with Odin, see if that fixes it.
