I've this Problem with my HD2, if I am connected via UMTS some time, Mails stopp being delivered and I cant reach Websites although Taskbar Icons show connectet "H", "3G" oder "E".
If I reconnect everything works again.
I had this with a lot of roms including serveral Versions of Artemis.
While this is quite annoying if you quickly want to google sth. and have to reconnect, it is the killer for beeing reachable via mail on the go.
Anyone a Idea? Current Rom is Artemis 6.0 Radio is 2.15.50.14 Dataplan is Simyo (Eplus) Flat Germany.
Thank a lot for helfping!!

Good news - as a complete noob I followed instructions and have a working WM6 on my UK T-mobile Ameo. Bad news - my internet has become temperamental.
The 3G symbol changes to H after entering an address in either browser.
- Sometimes it loads the page and after a few seconds the H returns to a 3G.
- Sometimes it changes to H and displays "Loading..." and either hangs or loads the page after 30-60 seconds
- Sometimes it switches to and from 3G/H a few times and eventually shows a "page cannot be displayed" error.
- Similar temperamental behaviour in my email and weather applications.
The above is how it behaves immediately after I have run the network wizard, although tweaking with server DNS or Flight Mode on-off have not helped.
Don't seem to be any problems if I just use 'G' GSM only phone setting. Today I'm in central London.
Any suggestions please? Anyone else experiencing this?
Thanks
Jonathan
You can turn off HSDPA on the settings menu with Ameo WM6, this will leave you with 3G speeds only but the difference will be minimal anyway unless you're downloading files or using remote desktop.
See if that helps
And watchout, if you use the wizard you will probably notice that the access point name of your T-Mobile provider is no longer "internet".

Do you know what the correct settings are for TMob UK?
Web&Walk
I have always used
Username - User
Password - one2one
APN - general.t-mobile.uk
And that is it - worked for me on every HTC device I have ever used
Uni's , Magician , Wizard , Hermes & now on the Ameo - I have never been billed outside of the W & W , and I have always got 3G or HSDPA where applicable
I think the offical Username is 'T-mobile' and the password 'internet'
Thanks for the suggestions.
The username/password combinations I tried all seem to work, although I'm sticking with the default from Network Wizard for now. I saw suggestions that using public DNS servers can speed up the "Loading..." wait.
I suspect the original Ameo ROM has HSDPA disabled for a good reason. For example, when loading Opera for the first time in a session, even with a blank start page, the software passes some information online. The time it takes the Ameo to switch from 3G to H for this often times Opera out and produces an error.
Even with HSDPA off I'm still getting regular errors but am not sure whether it's T-mobile coincidentally playing up, or the upgrade.
I think youll find HSDPA isnt disabled, it works, it just doesnt show the H.
I did a speed test on original TMob rom, and got far above 3g speeds.
I am based in Whitstable , Kent , and I have notced that T-mobile HSDPA performance can be a bit shaky every now and again - and the problems that you describe are a similar to what I have seen when the network is mucking around - with that data movement stopping and the indicator changing back and forth between 3G & H , I too thought it was a fault , but it went right on it's own
so i recently went to the wm6 ROM 'Hermes_WM6_WWE_vp3G_v2.0_ATT' and am using that new 1.48 radio. IPL is 1.04 and SPL 2.10.
now when i am on the phone (voice) or am synched to the computer, i lose my internet connection???? it comes back as soon as i hang up or unplug the USB but what gives with this? is there a setting that i need to activate or some patch for the ROM that i need for this? i just noticed this today but is über frustrating and i can't figure out why this is happening. outside from that i like this ROM build but this internet thing is irritating. any ideas?
There is a setting on your PC when you set up active sync for your device to keep the internet connections even when you sync to the PC. As far making a voice call, you can only do that while on 3G, not on Edge.
yeah I know about the activesync setting I think that might be the pc prooblem because I can't remember if I checked that box but anyway... I like in the middle of orlando fl and the data only switches between hsdpa and 3g, I am talking about dropping the internet while on the phone and in a 3g area (like my house). I just assumed they might be connected but maybe not. I can fix the activesync issue no problem but about the voice call situation I don't know. I might just try a different rom and/or radio because now that I have upgraded it seems the device is slightly slower and the battery life sucks too... any more ideas please let me know.
Hello all,
Well stupid me decided to upgrade my Rogers branded Hermes200 (TtYN) to wm6 without knowing everything I needed to. Installed HardSPL and then the HK English rom.
Phone portion works great
After searching and reading, I found the settings for connecting to the Internet for Rogers. Great.
Tried setting up active synce and it gave me the certificate not vailid error.... installed the cert on the new rom and with the h200 hooked up via usb to the computer it syncs up with my exchange server perfectly.
When I disconnect from the PC, direct push stops working....
When I force a send/receive.... it sits at 'connecting...' for a few minutes and if I'm lucking enough to be watching, it comes back with a 'connection error' message on the status bar before it flips back to number of messages in the inbox display...
The one BIG thing (not sure if it is big) is with the original ROM I'd get a 3G connection with serfing the net, doing data transfers, now I get an H connection, not sure if that is the issue, but it is the only thing I can see right now....
Any suggestions?

I can't really comment on the others, but your H vs. 3G issue isn't an issue at all. The fact that your device shows H just means that you have access to Rogers' new Vision network (HSPDA). Cooked ROMs use an H to differentiate HSDPA (3.5 generations technology, faster) from the 3G for UMTS (3rd generation technology, fast but not the fastest). Because HSPDA is an enhancement of UMTS and is built on top of it, a lot of Windows Mobile 5 ROMS (like the stock Rogers ROM) don't differentiate the fact that it's an HSDPA connection, even though it is, and just show a generic "3G". So... rest assured, the H thing is not a bad thing.
Hi - question for anybody who might know
I have had the HTC X7510 for about 3-4 weeks and I LOVE IT! I am using it on ATT Wireless in the Saint Louis, MO area. We have great HSDPA signal here and it rocks. But, I am having some issues I can't seem to work out. When I am connected to Media Net (I have an unlimited plan) I can for example browse the internet in Opera or connect to my exchange server at work (for email, calendars, etc...), and even google maps. But for some reason I can't seem to get some programs to recognize the connection. Just a couple as an example:
The weather app that came as part of the home screen and Skype.
Both of these work perfectly when I am connected to a WiFi network - they connect perfectly and I can make calls or download the latest weather data.
If anybody has any ideas or has more questions please let me know and thanks again for your help!
Thanks!
Caleb
most likely the PORTs required, are not open in your Cell company, they can block those ports if they are mean, to force you buy their service, to do the same thing
it happens a lot here
Hi all,
I got problem with internet connection on my HD2 (ROM 1.48). There are 2 ways I connect to the internet - WIFI and GPRS. GPRS connection works fine - I can download and read e-mails, make backups with MyPhone, update weather information, etc. But when I connect to the internet with WIFI, there are only 2 things I can do. I can browse web pages with Opera and update Twitter messages. But I can´t download e-mails, make backups, update weather information, etc. When I try to update or backup something, there is connection error (through that connection between phone and router is fine and web pages are running).
It seems to me like most of applications want to connect to internet via GPRS only. Is there any way to set up (or check) the phone to connect to the internet via WIFI when it is turned on?
Thanks for any advice
Sorry cant help but agree - it would be fantastic if there was some way of knowing / controlling when it used GPRS data and when it uses wifi. When wifi availabe obviously would rather use that than be charge a small firtune for data.
Any one out there about to help with this??
Internet browsing
Ditto. I can - after HUGE effort - connect WiFi but I cannot browse the internet using either Opera or IE. 2 year old Nokia connected and browsed literally within 2 secs! Also, the phone keeps connecting via GPRS all the time even with data connections off. Can anyone help? Thanks PS I know it's unproductive & forgive me, but I have to get this off my chest: this is the worst cellphone I've ever owned. Bluetooth doesn't work, internet doesn't work, handsfree car kit doesn't work. Does anything work?

correction, YOUR Bluetooth doesn't work, YOUR internet doesn't work, YOUR handsfree car kit doesn't work.
Get it exchanged. (if they genuinely dont work)
@others, go to settings menu all settings connection connections advanced select networks.
there are two dropdowns, in teh top one should be the name of your mobile data, , this is what automatic progs will use to connect to the web, in teh bottom one it should be 'the internet' (or sometimes 'my work network'), meaning they use wifi if available, and data if not.
(At least thats how they should work....)
If you set the top one the same as teh bottom one, nothing should try to use mobile unless wifi is not connected.
Could be a proxy problem? some operators set up a proxy, which can screw with connections.
samsamuel: Thank you for your advice. I´ve tried it - in both dropdowns I got "my work network", but no success.
I´ve found something interessting. When I turn on YouTube client (using WIFI), I can´t play videos. That should be ok when I got problem with internet connection. But YouTube client shows on the welcome screen preview of today´s added videos. So the question is why should application download preview of video, but it can´t play the video? I´m a little bit confused
Thanks for the suggestion, but I had tried that already and it did not work. I don't think it is just my cellphone. There are many comments re the HD2 that make it clear that it does not work with a Parrot handsfree carkit, Motorola S9 headset etc, and the 2 earlier posts reveal problems using WiFi too. It seems to be problematic on many fronts. I cannot even connect it using Windows Mobile via an USB port! And while I appreciate all suggestions it seems to me that this model is a (very expensive) lemon and frustrates huge numbers of owners. I find it odd that a 2 year old Nokia N95 can connect and browse instantly and a 'smart phone' doesn't work at all. I find it to be very gimmicky. I don't need twitter, facebook etc. I need voice dial, good PC software (like Ovi and PC suite) and bluetooth that works etc. The HD2 has none of this, but great graphics of a windscreen wiper, exactly the sort of pointless gimmick that reveals that the designers were interested in making a toy and not a useful phone.
I suggest you try and install "HTC_Wi-Fi_onDemand_by_Krocher". This program will always use wifi when available and stop the GPRS from connecting and will also keep your wifi on a stand-by. Please do read through the thread as you have to make sure that no programs using wifi are activated when you want it to be off. For me it solved several problems with wifi.
Second thought is to upgrade to one of the much more stable and already tweaked OS's. There are quite a lot out and you'll find everything about that on this forum as well.
Last thought, if it does not work it must be something to do with either the settings or the OS version as for others it works absolutely fine. These are complicated phones that, much like computers, must be set and tweaked to the correct settings in order to get the best out of them. If you just want a "buy and run" phone this is not the one.
Success,
Itamar
