Hi i have a question about the GT-P7100.
the first one is, Ive been trying to unlock my tab but have read that this will reset my device to its factory settings and wipe the entire internal memory, now is there a way that it doesn't do this?
Unlock as on put the password in?
Why would it do that
Or do you mean using odin because you forgot your password
If you use odin you will lose all data

Check out "Hexamob Recovery Lite *root*"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hexamob.hexamobrecoverylite
Says maybe possible to recover from internal storage, depending if blocks are overwritten etc....
As it's says, you'll need root of you don't already.
Edit: Unfortunately, as you found out, Hard Reset (code) is not the same as Factory Reset.

Did you try the app, and or did it work?

I have forgotten my Pattern lock on my galaxy S2 running CM9, is there a way to toggle the data on from adb or clockworkmod, I have tried the method of removing it via adb but that doesn't work for me, I can't wipe the phone either.
Did you enter your google password? Also as a last resort you can always wipe data from the recovery.

Just wondering if I had phone rooted, and I choose reset the phone from settings, will it wipe data and bricked the phone?
So there's Only option I can I unroot the phone out there ?

If you factory reset from settings, it will not delete root and it will not delete anything off the memory card(unless something goes wrong). You will not brick it.
If you are trying to get the phone back to complete stock like when it was first bought, follow the return to stock threads in the development section. if your s-off, just flash a stock rom without root in it...
Thank you, appreciated it

Hello,
during the last weeks I have massive problems with my S3 it freezes all the time, also when I just restart it freezes at pin stage or lock screen. Its horrible especialy when you use it as Navigation system and you are not noticing that it crashed but it still shows the screen from the moment it crashed.....
So I want to completely start fresh, but I have installed Avast also on root to protect my phone. So do I have to deinstall it first or which is the best way to completely reset?
Thanks in adavance!
Best SKYY
Boot into recovery and do a wipe/factory reset. You're rooted, so you probably have a custom recovery, you can do that easily. Else, you can also reset from the settings. I'm not sure if Avast prevents it, I don't think so.

If it is not working you can flash superwipe (factory reset) or mega wipe (wipes anything, no files on phone or internal whatsoever). Both done via recovery. You can find them here in the forum.

You can also flash stock rom via odin and start completely from the beginning
R: Complete Wipe to Stock while Avast is installed?
You dknt need the antivirus if you flash from scratch. once you flash your phone will be virgin, therefore not capable of being instantly infected (unless u do some stupid things or have some sort of infected kernel or stuff) so u can just go and install avast from play store again.
Thou i do not believe an antivirus is needed on these phones yet...

I've got Avast! installed and backed up without any problem

What do you mean by bootloader, when i try to enter recovery it sticks on the team win splash screen. When i choose factory reset it does the same.

If you go to you phone settings, choose storage and there you will find the option to encrypt your phone, just need to decrypt it using the password and that's it.
If you don't have the password I believe that after several unsuccessful attempts the phone might wipe and decrypt itself, downside to that is loosing any data.
