These are the issues I encountered after upgrading to 2.00.405.3, S-offed and root.
* "we can't identify your device" error upon launching whatsapp
* xda app force closes
Previously these apps works fine on stock.
Still dont know what other issues.
Maybe I'll try flashing custom rom.
does anyone encounters issues or know a fix?

previously before S-off, i was running stock Asia ROM 1.48.1303.33 and whatsapp was able to work properly . but after flashing to WWE_2.00.405.3 (to make sure the revolution s-off exe work) whatsapp stopped working and it says that "we cant identify your device. Please turn off the phone, take out the battery, restart it and try it again."
anyone with possible solutions ?
HTC changed the way they identify the IMEI and phone number of your Tablet in 2.XX.XX software versions.
I have been looking for a solution as well but could not figure anything out.
Viber has the exact same problem as it can;t access the IMEI of the Tablet and Force closes.
hopefully someone finds a way to solve this problem !
the first time i tried whats app i had the same problem
with this version it works
2.6.6096
you can find this here

I have the exact problem as you too. Then i install this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1175589 and now Whatsapp and Viber working fine together with the phone function for the Flyer. But the software number now is 1.38.709.7 and the ROM only in English and Chinese.

Maybe you can try backing up Whatsapp and data by using Titanium Backup, then flash a newer rom, lastly restore Whatsapp and data using Titanium Backup.
Let me know if it works
I tried just as you said, I backed up whatsapp from my desire and restore it to my flyer. After launching it asked me to enter my phone number. I ignore and reboot coz my bat is running empty.
when I re-launch whatsapp, my chat history from desire was displayed.
Im not sure if it works.
Anyway I decide to flash custom rom now. My gf commented that my flyer is slow on games. and compare it to an Ipad.

I tired your method for both Viber and Whatsapp... And It is working fine now... Thanks...
flashing to i00 rom did not fix this issue, maybe because that rom is base on 2.xx soft number.
Using titanium restore worked diff for me. it uses my phone account not my flyer gsm number.
So I flash another rom, the one from zhangip, which is base from 1.xx soft num.
Whatsapp now works normal, at last. Thanks.

will it really work after flashing the rom zhangqi ?
my whatsapp is not working at all.
plus how do i get to get the file from zhangqi ?
So my com.andoird.phone has been crashing constantly which means I can't even do anything without the stupid popup coming up. I believe it's due to a faulty application. Anybody had any luck on fixing this? (running CM10 test build on my Evo 4g LTE)
Secondary question. Is it possible to remove the app from fastboot USB or recovery? If that were possible I think the system would sort itself back out. Thanks in advance
First, which build are you running? There have been like an average of 3 builds a day since Sunday.
Second, they have seen progressive improvements on each build.
I suggest getting the latest build from IRC if what you are running is a day or so old.
Also there are a lot of great people in there to help if you stick around.

Did you get this sorted out? I had the same problem of speradic fcing on that from the latest buil at 8pm last night. I wiped everything and reinstalled. It fc'd continuously until I got through the setup with my turbo fingers.
Everyone will tell you the same thing. The builds are on IRC and so are the bugs. Deck has not made a fix for this bug. It is a known issue. Get on IRC and off XDA for these builds.

I had a variation on this same issue. Did a TB of my user apps and system settings (not system apps) from my flex 1.75 install. Full wipe, installed the latest 8/2 CM10 from IRC, phone started fine, got one com.phone crash dialog and then everything seemed to be fine. Did the TB restore and when I rebooted I was stuck in an endless com.phone and android.process.acore crash loop. Only clue I have is that I noticed my wifi was connected when I rebooted (since my settings were restored).
Flashed to venom :-/
I'm on latest radios/firmware, s-off etc, latest TWRP, matching md5s etc

Yeah i didn't have the issue except on reboot until I rebooted this morning then it went psycho. Its a pretty solid build otherwise.

Pretty sure restoring system settings fro sense to aosp is a bad idea. It made it so you could not connect to data and that's why you had the error loop. just saying

I retried full wiping/flashing just restoring user apps, and while it didn't immediately go into the loop the same way, it still did it if my wifi was on and associated when I rebooted. It's apparently something to do with not getting data making the process go nuts.

Are you having the problem before restoring user apps? Sometimes I have found it best to re-install via market using appbak. Then once the apps are re-installed that way, just restore only the app data you need from TB, don't restore all apps/data at once.
At some point after (i think) installing TWRP v2.3.3.0 i got spammed with this messages both in official ICS RUU and
Rezound Maister. I use GSM sim only. Any ideas?

I don't know if it has anything to do with TWRP or not, I'm using amon ra. Pretty sure it isn't related to recovery. Anyways, I can definitely tell you that I get that same message a lot and I only use aosp and aokp roms. Happens mostly in the play and amazon app stores. Not really helpful I know but I too would love to know what causes this.
Somehow i managed to fix this, maybe wipe helped or playing with 4636 menu or both...
I was recently givin a htc evo 3d phone, at the time it was locked to Rogers network. first think i did was factory reset then unlocked it so I could use my telus prepaid sim.
now the camera wont work at all, if I use the shortcut or button the camera icon flashes on the screen for a second and goes back to home screen, so I tried adding a camera app (camera Effects) to see if that would access it, but get an error saying
"camera error" cannot connect to camera
I also notice that I am unable to turn on bluetooth, I see the switch but it just wont turn on, no errors.
the person I got it from said these where working before, but after I did factory reset I did software update now they dont, I read somewhere it was an issue with the software, so was wondering if there was a way I could force another firmware to the phone (older or newer) to correct this issue.
now the phone has
android version 4.0.4
htc sense version 3.6
software number 3.28.631.1
any ideas?
shameless bump
Hello, I'm not an expert on this, I'm new to evo 3D, did you try any RUU to see if your problem is solved? I don't think it's a hw problem because you told that after factory reset problem appeared. Hands crossed

If you are rooted, S-OFF or unlocked bootloader you could install a custom rom to check if the problem persists. If not, I don't know any more things, talk to experts
have you unlocked your boot loader?
installed a custom rom?
because you stated that your android version is 4.0.4
Have you ever tried to install a custom rom or custom kernel?
i had wifi problem since i tried to install nonsense rom.
I installed my nandroid backup of the stock rom. everything became normal

I am fairly new to this, I am not sure what RUU is...
I have not rooted (I assume thats much like jailbreak?) nor done anything to the phone except unlock it via unlock code So I could switch carriers.
Thanks to the incoming call issue due to VoLTE, I've decided to return my phone to stock. I read a post that said all I'll have to do is lock my bootloader and use an RUU. Well the RUU freezes. I've tried it three times, waiting for about 30 minutes each time, but never could get pass the ROM loading stage. I don't quite know what the issue is. I've tried on 2 different laptops, both running Windows 7 Pro. I'm currently running Venom 4.6.0 with TWRP recovery and S-ON. I downloaded 4.28.502.1 RUU as that was the stock ROM I was running before going to Venom. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Sometimes apps like HTC sync will cause issues with ruu exes. Be sure nothing else that can talk to the phone is installed.
Thanks, I'll try with sync manager not running.

Be sure it is uninstalled. I tried with it "not running" and still had the issue. I had to completely uninstall HTC Sync.
Thanks for the advice. Finally have my phone back to stock. It's quite unfortunate, but I'll have to live with the bloat until there's a fix for the VoLTE issue on custom ROMs.
