Is there a rom or mod out there that allows your homescreens to render in 3D at all times? he said someone at bestbuy showed him a 3vo with a fully rendered 3D homescreens... i dont believe him lol
That doesn't exist on the evo, can't you move the phone and the home screen will move with the sensor?

i know right??? i dont think he knew what he was talking about myself, but theoretically the screen can render a pic in 3d and switch straight to 2d and then back to 3d, so in theory the homescreen should be able to be rendered in 3d its just changing the second barrier screen isnt it? idk i think the kids crazy lol

This option does not make the screen render in 3D, it simply adds a "tilt" effect when you turn your phone left or right, it just skews the look of the icons to give it a generic 3D effect while still rendering in 2D, not the actual display mode change to 3D.
i usually use launcherpro and it does horiz. home screen.... i would LOVE to play with a 3d ui that can be controlled with the switch!!!!!
*hint devs*
SPB Shell 3D ($14.95 on Market) renders the homescreen in 3D [experimental at the moment]. I haven't yet tried it, as I have used SPB on both Windows Mobile and Android [EVO 4G] and I can't say I liked it all that much.

Wow I can't believe that either Android or HTC took such a serious step backwards with this new applications screen. I mean this stinks of way back in my Windows 6.x days. My EVO 4G applications drawer would just scroll and scroll so quickly and smoothly from top to bottom, relative to how fast and hard the finger gesture was. Now here we are again with this lame stepped scrolling app screen environment. You flick down and the screen moves exactly one set of five rows and slams to a stop, like you have reached the end. So you have to flick it again to get another whole five rows. In fact if you move the screen manually and slowly you can even see a thin white break across the screen where the stops are forced to happen. This sucks so much compaired to the beautiful, smooth, fluid animation we had before. Pleeeeease tell me there is a way to change this.

Install Launcher Pro, ADWex, Launcher7, GoLauncher....I'm sure I'm missing dozens of them....Launcher Pro is the smoothest and most AOSP experience, though ADW is free with no nag and OSS, ADWex is the pay version, Launcher 7 is a Wp7 copycat, very smooth...not too feature rich...Go Launcher I've never used, but, seen good things from....
But you lose your sense widgets....
Screw rosie, I'll throw everything away to do away with that hideous beast
I agree with the OP. Converting it to.list is dooky too. I guess this new app drawer is HTCs was of eliminating the scrolling lag..

My thoughts exactly, lol. I was like, hmm, that was an easy way for them to fix the scrolling lag thru the app drawer, haha. I don't mind it, but look forward to the day I can get a custom rom on this bad boy and run some AOSP.

I guess my lag wasn't that bad, but i would have thought that a dual core proc and 1gig of ram would have been enough to fix that.
Of all the things to complain about. I only knew it was a matter of time before people started acting like it was the end of the world because of something as minor as an app drawer. It was the same with the EVO.

bad coding is bad coding. we weren't dropping frames, they just weren't there to begin with.
ADWex and LP are always liquid smooth to me, on my Moment, Evo4G, Nook Color and everyones phone I put it on who asks to 'make it faster'.....in fact, as much as I hate sense I could deal with it or even--gasp--like it (those are some sexy widgets) if that god damned app drawer wasn't so god damn ugly-laggy-slow .... stock launcher on my moment was smoother....and, well...nuff said

I think they might be fixing it for "less equipped" phones. I can imagine that several "low end" devices will have Sense 3.0 at some point.

Nope I went straight from my EVO 4G to this and my ROM of choice was always the trusty Sprint Lover's rom, which was the original sense.
Launcher Pro Plus (the $3 is worth it) works very smoothly (I can scroll the whole app list in 1 swipe, no lag). I got Fancy Widgets free from the Amazon Apps store awhile back, and it makes up for the lost Sense widgets. I got addicted to having the scrolling lower launcher bar - there's no way I can go back to just 3 buttons that I can't assign
I actually like the vertical paginated style in the Sense 3.0 drawer. It reminds me of the horizontal paginated in ADW, which is what I always used. I wouldn't go so far to say it's a major step backwards, though. It's not really the end of the world.

yup, people complains for everything this days, remember the 30 days return policy mi gente!!
I remember seeing a review that you're able to pinch the app draw to see all the apps at the same time, then select the screen with the app you want. Just like the home screen on the regular Evo.
Is this how it works? Cause that would eliminate a reason to fast scroll for me & also explain why there's a line every 5 rows
lol @ some of you guys getting upset at people who don't like the app drawer.... calm down little fellas... we aren't insulting you.
I love the phone so far, hate the app drawer... using anything other than sense 3.0 on this phone right now would be silly IMO.
Hey, I went to the EVO 3D page on HTC's website and was looking around at some How-To's. There was something very interesting under the camera link. It said that there are supposed to be advanced camera settings called "scenes" for action shots, low lighting shots, burst mode, etc. I am assuming this is the camera app that I had on my EVO 4G from one of the Kingdom Ports with the EVO 3D camera. It had things like panoramic shooting, etc.
Why don't we have that on our official EVO 3D cameras? I wanted to check on XDA and see if this was just a bug on my phone or if everybody was missing an sweet camera setting that we should have.
Below is the link for the HTC page that I am talking about. Click the How-To on the Camera and read a few.
http://www.htc.com/us/support/evo3d-sprint/help/camera
I see settings under menu and also from the magic wand icon on the left. No advanced like you mentioned nor scenes. Did you take OTA updates? I have not
...adjusting to life without the trackball
I did both updates and there are no such options
look at the picture of that Evo3D on the link..Where the hell is my Transparent Rosie? Mine is solid
I dont know what the hell is going on..Its almost like they changed camera software at the last minute..Seems like these scenes disappeared with the 1080p recording at the same time..Must have been another Typo but i think this is grounds for False advertising

I also did not update, and my rosie is not nor ever has been transparent. None of the available skins provide a transparent rosie either. No transparency to be found. Slightly annoying that a few minor things have changed.

when I hit my wand it says effects distortion,Vignette, dots, dept of field, vintage etc.. Is this what u guys are talking about or is it something else?
I'll guess some web programmer simply copied that page of info from another phone's info.
Yeah, this is a little more than a typo. These are links and how to's about what our phone is supposed to do. Kind of annoying that a phone called the "Shooter" (camera reference) has a downgraded camera app then a phone that came out a few weeks before it. (The Sensation)

HTC has the poorest camera/video smartphone features in the industry.
I communicated with them last August about my dissapointment with my Evo 4G camera with (self-made) charts showing them (what they already knew undoubtedly) comparative smartphone features between Nokia, SonyEriccson, IPhone and Samsung.
They definitively replied (last August) that they knew this and had 'numerous options on the table to address it'.
We of course saw nothing materialize on our 3D...(although the MyTouch Slider will see the first HTC camera upgrade in a month).
So for those that really value even status quo smartphone camera quality, the only options at this point are to move to Samsung ....or the Nexus Prime this fall.
Sad...Ive been an HTC user for 10 yrs.
I contacted htc about this, and some other camera issues. They said that the "scenes" feature would come out in a future update.
This is definatly false advertising.

Yes, I did the same and they mentioned the camera things like panoramic camera, and transparent rosie shown at CTIA were not included on the production release, and they are looking to include these in a future update. Same with the flashlight app and battery widget.
I contacted HTC and was told I didnt know how to use my phone and they would walk me threw getting to these settings. When I proved that they werent there I was told it was a typo of sorts. When I said I can produce Youtube video footage of an HTC employee showing off these features on the EVO 3D my mail went unanswered.
has anyone figured out what we can do to solve this long standing problem? I know just as for many others, this is the only keyboard ill use. I'd even be willing to paypal something as well as I'm sure a few others I've spoke to in PMs would. If not, its cool... just figured I'd put it out there to see what's up.
I guess not, oh well it was worth a shot.

it has not and it will never be, the dev stopped updating the app and no one else capable is interesting in modifying it...
its only in portrait mode that its a problem, landscape works fine!
What exactly is the issue? I can't update it to our latest IME, but I possibly can fix the resolution.

it doesnt scale properly in portrait, its aligned to the left and so there is a huge gap on the right side
i have been waiting for this to be fixed since i went 3d...used it on my hero and 4g. the only one i really really like.
The current HTC keyboard with it's tracing feature is way nicer than the old HTC IME mod kb. Besides that, Smark Keyboard Pro is better than HTC IME mod too.
Well, I want to know about the real 3D Homescreen. 2 times I got 3d homescreen but after the phone reboots it goes to normal mode again. Idk if were system errors or what but I think if 2 I got 2 times maybe should be possible to enable this mode?
Are you talking about two separate launchers? (a 3D Launcher vs Stock?) Sorry, your question is somewhat vague but if you can give more details (launcher/ROM) and if by 3D you are talking true 3D (using the 3D feature of the EVO 3D)?
Spb shell has a true qhd 3d homescreen launcher, but it's an experimental feature at the moment and it's a premium price for something which was better 5 years ago on windows mobile (minus 3d ofcourse)

Possibly here, settings/display/3d home screen.
That only changes the tilt of the home screen. Not true stereoscopic 3d.

What I meant was 3D stereo on my homescreen. I don't remember how this happened but I got it 2 times.

Yes, camera is working as usual.
That happened to be but only because of lagg. I was using the camera in 3D so the stereoscopic was activated. So when I pressed home it took a while to go back to 2D.
It's not mean't to happen it's just a glitch. If it was possible it wouldn't look very good (lower resolution) and battery life would suck
Yeah I have had it happen too with Mikrunny 1.13. Goto 3d cam, lockscreen with slide to lock and it will wake up with a 3d lockscreen

I know my TV has the ability to force video to 3D. While far from perfect it does help make use of the 3D. Was wondering if anyone has worked on something for the EVO 3D that allows forcing 3D.
