[Q] Home screen lock time and screen turn off time - Motorola Photon 4G

Hi All!
I've pretty much got my Photon setup the way I want it to look and act except for the home screen lock time. I don't mind the screen turning off so quickly, but every time it turns off, the home screen locks. Is there a way to change the lock out time? The lock slider gets annoying when I have to keep doing it during text conversations or if I'm streaming Pandora in the car and I have to unlock the screen to see what's playing, etc.
Also, I have my screen turn off time set to 1 minute, but it seems like it turns off in about 15 seconds. Any help with this would be appreciated as well.
Thanks for the help!

Did you try going into Settings>Applications>Development?

lock screen timeout tied to regular screen timeout?

Ok, so after doing all my searching and what not, it seems that for whatever reason the time it takes for the lock screen to time out is tied to the regular screen timeout.
What I mean by this, is when you first hit the sleep/wake button and its on the lock screen, but you don't unlock it, the time it takes for that screen to go to sleep is the same as if you had unlocked it and not used it.
For me at least, this is a major battery life issue. I like to leave the screen timeout at minimum at 5 minutes, because I use my phone's LCD as a flashlight quite often (LGP500 doesn't have a camera flash), and read websites fairly often. Also, I tend to keep my phone in my pocket (who doesn't?), so when walking or moving it's very likely one of the hardware buttons (sleep/wake, home etc.) will be accidentally pressed inside my pocket at least once every short while, basically keeping the screen on permanently.
I'd like to know if anyone has any ideas on how to change this.
Just as a side note, I realize it's possible for rogue apps to keep the screen from timing out, but I've made sure that its not the case here - when the timeout is changed to 15 seconds, the screen turns off at the correct interval.
Anyone have any ideas?

[Q] Change patterlock timeout to be different from screen timeout

Hi
I have setup my SE xperia mini pro (2.3.4) to use a patternlock screen, but I would like the timeout to be slower than the screen timeout so that I can quickly respond to replies and other stuff if the phone is in use.
So what I am looking for is a setting to do something like this:
Screen times out after two minutes and turnsoff but the pattern lock only activates after 15 minutes so that I can quickly turn the screen on when somebody instantly replies to a message.
Can I set that up? It was possible on the iphone I had before.

disable screen time out in camera/fullscreen

ok, some info, i'm coming from the captivate (SGS1), on that phone if you were in a full screen app, or the camera was active, the screen wouldn't turn off regardless of the time out setting.
on this phone i have the timeout on 30 seconds with the stay on mode enabled for when i'm looking at the screen, this works really well except the above doesn't work, when the camera is on or the app is full screen it still times out. this becomes REALLY annoying when doing things like google hangouts as it hangs up the call when the screen turns off.
am i missing a setting? how can i keep the screen on when the app is full screen (games, movies, etc)?
thanks

Problem when screen dims + Locks

Hi all,
I'm not too sure if anyone else has ever experienced this but it is starting to annoy me.
When my screen dims after 1 minute and goes to the lock screen I'm able to press the 'home' button and the unlock screen appears but I'm not able to do anything.
Its almost as if my devices jams and I have to press buttons to get it to come back.
I've reinstalled my device and this doesn't happen.
This happens during a call when the screen dims when its near my ear and I take my phone away from my ear the screen doesn't come on and it jams
Please - your help will be greatly appreciated
just swipe unlock it ? or use smart stay

I wish that was the issue.
My smartstay is on.
When the device's screen turns off the 2 issues happen:-
1. You press the home button to turn the screen on and the phone goes into the pattern lock screen - when i try do my pattern it doesn't pick anything up almost as if the screen has frozen and I have to wait 1 minute for the screen to go off and do the same process and hope it works.
2. I'm in a call and the screen is supposed to light up after removing it from my hear however it stays black. I have to lay the phone down, wait 1 minute and press the home button and hopefully the screen comes up and hopefully it isn't jammed
try this see if it works https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobint.locker
Hey Aimara,
It didn't work.. It almost seems like the phone jams i.e. there is no RAM left or something
Check your running apps, and could be too many apps running on background using up ram, try to freeze some unwanted apps
I have no issues unlocking my stock Sprint GS3 as you describe. Like some other have mentioned, maybe free up some internal RAM by moving some apps or data to SD storage?
I think it might be caused by CPU tuner and the governors? I noticed when my battery was low it would get stuck on the unlock screen.
Hopefully with my changes it works

[Q] / Idea about how wake lock works.

So say for some odd reason you have your screen time out on 5 minutes, phones on silent you get a text. It wakes your phone up for 5 minutes. I have a rough idea of separating the screen time out selection into two. A screen time out set for when the end user unlocks his or her phone and a wake lock induced screen time out. Now I know there's anti wake lock apps but the idea is as I stated a set screen time out for a user induced wake lock and app induced wake lock. This idea popped into my head randomly as I don't leave smart stay on so I max screen time out to watch video's and sometimes luck my phone on silent for getting to change the screen time out back. Anyone have any insights about this.
