[Q] Is your radio updated after OTA 4.5.91 ? - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just want to know...
After you updated your device to OTA 4.5.91 (2.3.4) AT&T , is your radio updated too ?
Thanks.

UP ..........

radio
You get the .91 radio also. So yes, new radio. (even if nothing changes, I heard they give it a new number.)

I am running unlocked 4.5.91, flashed via the SBF, and my Baseband version is N_01.77.30P.
Does that sound right, or do I need to flash something newer (for kernel support, etc; my phone is functioning fine with good cell speeds (5.4mbps down, 1mbps up) and gps lock, and although wifi is slow to start it works)?
Thanks!

Yeah, thats the radio you need to be on, its the at&t GingerBread radio.

OP, you can get just the radio .img here if you want to flash it before doing the OTA udpate (assuming you haven't already done this):

"Very positive comments about this radio from everyone who's flashed. Looks like this is the best yet."

I just flashed CM7 Beta and i checked my baseband and its N_01.77.15P (which i am assuming is of Bell Froyo, and i was very much happy with it on froyo)
so should i continue with it (GPS seams to be working fine) or should i flash N_01.77.33P (like i said i dont use data connection at all.
CM7 is based on Gingerbread, and the Bell radio that CM crew recommend is the Gingerbread radio for Bell Atrix.
So you should install this radio
It will give you better performance since you now using Froyo radio with Gingerbread system.

[Q] No 4G LTE after root

Is anyone having issues with after rooting the Thunderbolt you lose the 4G LTE at the top and stuck with a 1X?
For some reason this is the second Thunderbolt and I'm having the same issues. If anyone can provide some feedback on this is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Check baseband. When I rooted mine from some reason it wiped my radio. Also make sure the back cover is on tight.
Did you just gain root, or did you also flash a rom? If you flashed a new rom you might need to find the right radio to work with that specific one. I'm new to this as well but what I've gathered from reading, Gingerbread based roms require gingerbread radios to be flashed as well. I think you need MR2 or newer to run with GB based Roms.
Yeah- if you root your Tbolt and are running froyo (which of course you would be unless you got the ota before it was pulled) and then you flash a GingerBread rom - you also have to flash a new radio. Flashing a rom does not change your radio. You have to flash the radio separate. And a GingerBread rom needs a compatible radio.
The latest radio is from the 2.11.605.3 ota. There is a radio thread in the development section. Sometimes they post the LTE radio and the cdma radio separate so you have to flash them both. You flash them in hboot. Not in cwr.
sorry if you knew all that already.

[Q] Fastest Atrix Radio

Without going into great detail, my speeds suck (not even getting 1Mb/s) . Does anyone know the most recent, and fastest, radio available for the Atrix(ATT) running 2.3.4 (rooted)?
Thanks in advance

Which radio (baseband) version you have now? I assume the N_01.77.30P version? You can check it by going to Settings>About Phone>Baseband version on your phone.
There are a couple of radios released for the Atrix. If you are on ATT, there is one that has been leaked from the OTA ATT update to GB 2.3.5, which has a newer radio version N_01.77.36P. It seems that people are having good results with that one.
Here is the link to get the .36P version:

You can also find more info here:

Atrix 4G, CM 7.1 Nightly, OC to 1.4Ghz on faux 0.2.2.
if I helped in anyway, hit the Thanks button!
36P found in Fruitcakes thread. Latest and greatest. Works very well!

[Q] Can't get 605.9 to stick

I rooted with Revolt. long time ago, and my ROM is Infectedrom.
Android v 2.3.4
HTC Sense 3.5
software 2.11.605.5
Baseband 1.48.000.0930w_3,0.01.78.0916w_3
I have hboot to the PG05IMG.zip several times and it contains the latest radio files and give me good updates on the hboot screen, but still no 605.9.
Any ideas would be helpful,
Ron
If im reading your post right, you have to flash a rom with 605.9 as its base. You flash roms through recovery not hboot. Flashing the radios will not change the software version..
Okay, slightly confused. How do I tell if I have the latest radio file versions? I thought the Software number was the radio files version, 2.11.605.5. What should I be looking for?
My rom (Build number?), InfectedROM Eternity (Nightly), is fine and I assume its the latest and greatest.
You got a noob here, but trying--you and me!!

Can you flash a radio using Clockwork?
The Software version is NOT the radio version. If you go into settings, about phone, software info, more info, you should see baseband version under the kernel version. The baseband version is your radio version.
The latest radio that came with latest OTA is 0.01.78.0916w_3

Thanks, therefore my radio is up to date (see first post). Can you unconfuse (if that is a word) me on what is 605.5 and 605.9 software version and where I should be.
Thanks for the reply,
Ron
605.5 and 605.9 are versions of the phone's official firmware, 605.9 being the most up to date. the newest radio in question was included in 605.9 as an update to the older radio, but it was extracted from that firmware release so that rooted users could update only the radio and not the entire firmware.
that's what you've done already.
if you're rooted and running a ROM that you like and works for you, there isn't any reason to upgrade your firmware version (especially since you've already installed the newest radio). if there are big features or changes in 605.9 that the developers want to include in their ROM, they will release a new version of that ROM for you to flash. also, 605.9 has caused most (all?) rooted users who accepted the upgrade to lose root.
basically - if you updated to the newest radio, everything works and you're happy with it, don't worry about it. keep an eye on your favorite ROM's thread for updates from those developers and don't sweat Verizon's official releases.
(please do correct me if I have any of that wrong!)

THANK YOU!!!!
I needed that education, but I am sure that was obvious. I will watch and wait my rom developer for additional updates.
BTW, the Rezound battery is GREAT. A little tight, and I should have polished the edges because it is gonna be hard taking it out.
However, thanks for that explanation....I feel so much better.

[Q] Should I flash to a newer radio? If so which?

I bought an unlocked Atrix a while back from amazon and had it shipped to me to latin america (Panama). It ended up being a German O2 version with Froyo and a N_01.95.00R baseband/radio. It's been running great with everything unlocked and TDS ROM, however I've always had that nagging feeling that I should flash to a newer radio firmware.
Would anyone advise against it? More than looking for how to flash a radio (I read about fruitcake), I'm more interested in finding out which radio is it safe flash or which would be the correct one for me to flash. I'm a bit lost on this, since there doesn't appear to be a lot of information on the subject compared to everything else.
Unless you're having problems with your current radio - I'd just leave it alone. If you dont know what you're doing, you'll only break something.
