Gtalk XDA Friends - HTC EVO 3D

ever since G+ came out its been like having 2 XDA sites to get news from and talk to the community, At least for me. So this why i made this thread so people can add people from the community to their GTALK list. the past month i have realized i have added almost 20 people from XDA and have found it very useful in many ways. I get updates when new roms are released and anything droid related. Even when i have troubles i shoot a message towards someone and get a speedy reply.
Very useful since Everyone has Gtalk automatically built in there phones and is great once you get your friends list up.
Post your Emails here if you wanna try it out for Yourselves, If you don't want to cause your Gtalk is more personal then thats fine. its not for Everybody.
Try it out guys!

Skyfire Download Available Now--Read Post

I have a promo code that will let just over a thousand people get beta 2 right away. To release this code I need at least 50 responses and if this leeks out of this forum this will be the last inside inside information I release. This is for titan users only. Thanks and good luck.
A Skyfire beta code leaked out of this forum? nah. never!!!
No offense but the codes have been being leaked for the past 2 weeks....lol
None taken
But I guarantee I know about things that you have only dreamed of. Mr. Senor Member.
Are the codes that special? I logged into Skyfire and it was right on the front page, with no restrictions or anything. Kind of easy to guess too.
Info
Skyfire, which has the best avaible mobile rendering on the planet will be obselete very very soon. No, there is nothing special about this code I just wanted as many titan users to be able and enjoy skyfire while it is here.

That was out last week. lol! On PPCGeeks at that.
Well for all I can see the build is v .0.61.0.4721
Nothing special at all...
Unfortunately yes
These particular set of promo codes I recieved are in spirit of phelps' win in the olympics. Sorry everybody else is what skyfire seems to be relaying. There are promo codes out there for canada I will start a thread when I get them if I don't get shot by Flyer first.
I see all of you viewing this page
Could you please be sports and tell me if you have skyfire, I'm looking for a count people. Leave me your feedback.
More specific
I apologize I didn't specify only beta 2 users please.
honestly, what is your point? there's a thread over at ppcgeeks with several beta codes. and your 'special' code was sent out on a blog on their website. its still there. in fact, here's a link. and that code only goes til the 30th or something.
SkyFire
All the problems people go through to try and steal or not log onto someones web site. Skyfire is a free and very very good browser. I Use it all the time now. And instead of telling people how to not go about the right way to get a free browser is just stuipd on your part. Log On it's free and enjoy it. I read this web site a lot. And can't understand why if something is free. Go to all the problems of trying to lead others to issues that you can't support. I SAY JUST LOG ON AND DOWNLOAD IT. ENJOY
The code I see is phelps8
Probably the same access.
Everyone have a case of the Mondays?
My aim is for not everyone to get all offensive and up tight or to misjudge this post I was looking for a finatical response and I recieved one. I apologize for hurting everyone's feelings with the exception of flyer. I am in the process of developement and I am conducting a study. So, for those who would like a free skyfire download use the promo code. For those that have skyfire beta 2, if it wouldn't be too much trouble, just tell me if you are currently running it and maybe how often you use it. And if you are neither, feel free to leave me a message I will chat with you this evening when I get done preparing for trial tomorrow.

Contacts To Voice Your Concerns Over S-off (Updated with Petition Link)

I know alot of people are upset over having to wait on S-off, while watching other phones, like the newly released Nexus get unlocked fairly quickly.
Have you checked over at the Galaxy Nexus forums? One could easily get jealous that they already have the ability to flash undervolted kernels, new streamlined roms, radios, etc.
I consider the HTC Rezound cream of the crop, and would love to tweak it out before Christmas.
Well, I say we as a whole contact HTC and Verizon and let them know we are displeased with the current locking of our Rezound. I can understand the reason for locking, but what about other devices on the network? The Galaxy Nexus has been unlocked and rooted without any sort of hassle. This is causing those that are impatient to jump the HTC Rezound ship and head over to the nexus.
Those that havent jumped, are probably contemplating, that is including some devs i'm sure.
Earlier this year, Peter Chou, CEO of HTC states on Facebook and Twitter that they will no longer be locking the bootloaders on their 2011 and newer devices, yet somehow this was not the case for the Rezound.
If you would like to, contact Verizon and HTC and voice your opinion. While it may be futile, not voicing yourself surely wont help Maybe they will get tired of our complaints, and do something about it. HTC has to of felt a little burn with people going over to the Nexus already, so maybe they would love to keep that from happening more.

HTC's Facebook page about no longer locking bootloaders
For those that don't know, Verizon do have support forums, and here is a complaint topic regarding the HTC Rezound's locked bootloader, so voice yourself there too (please stay faithful to XDA, my intent is not to have you move to a different forum).

If you do anything, whether its contact them via twiiter, Facebook wall, email, remember to be courteous and respectful. Let them know you are a unhappy consumer that loves the phone, but not in love with their locking it down like it is, and against what they promised earlier this year.
As a whole, we might get heard, and who knows, maybe Christmas will come early I'm aware that once I bought the HTC Rezound, that I was taking a gamble on how soon if at all S-off would come. It is my second smartphone, following my HTC Incredible, and with all the choices out there, I still come back to HTC.
Squeaky Wheel gets the grease.
XDA Member Serinety has reinstated their petition. Rather than me start one up, please refer to their thread to sign the petition, and still use this thread to contact Verizon, HTC, and Google to get them to give us some Bootloader freedom.

Petition update: Serinety's petition has been growing. Ive posted on a few forums other than ours. The petition is at over 100 signatures.

I have even considered starting up a website regarding this, and calling it something like unlockmyrezound.com or something similiar. Let me know your thoughts!
Note: I'll add contact info as I find / get them. If you have information that you feel would help out this thread, please let me know.
Thanks for this post. I posted to the Facebook link you shared.

I have posted to the HTCUSA Facebook wall twice, each time receiving a polite "we feel your pain but that doesn't mean we're going to do anything about it" type response.
I am trying to be optimistic, thinking they'll unlock things after the ICS upgrade to which they're already committed.
For now, I enjoy temproot, and the Nexus does not appeal to me at all. I feel like we've got the best product out there, and that's good enough for me now.

I also feel that this is the best product out there right now.
I see you are also coming from the incredible. I still miss playing around with new roms like MIUI and CM7, undervolted kernels from Chat and Tiny, etc I have my deactivated Incredible on my desk (with a mod to turn off the radio but leave wifi on) and I still find that I play with it from time to time.
Temproot has made the wait less painful, and its been nice not having to worry about flashing new roms all the time. But my vacation from the flashing is over, i'm all ready to start again.
I've been pounding their phones, Facebooks and email for days now, my most recent post on HTC USA's Facebook was this morning, and in a bit more of an angry tone than the others. I said I was taking my Rezounds back, which I'm really not doing, because they went back on their word. I'm still sending emails out to people, and I just sent out an email to the CEO of Verizon....we'll see where this gets us.
Thanks

I like your enthisiasm. I read a post over on another forum where HTC said the reason they locked the phone was because of Google's request. I have no idea how valid that post was though, since it was the first i've heard of such a reason.
I hope more like you continue to contact Verizon and HTC.

When are we going to see s-off on the Rezound? You guys are losing valuable customers and developers to the lesser Nexus due to not being able to unlock it. Loosing those developers is going to cost you more customers the longer you wait. No one is patient these days.

Yea I would think that they soon have to see the numbers of returns yesterday for people trading in their Rezounds to go to the Nexus. It's unfortunate, because I really don't know if there enough people who do what we do to make them change their stance. They may just view us as a drop in the bucket, but the more noise we make, the better our odds. BTW, I think it's also important to post on Verizon's FB and emails as well, not just HTC.
I started an online petition a few weeks ago but pulled it due to no interest. Lemme know and I will reactivate it
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using XDA App
It is Verizon locking down the phone if I recall correctly.
I posted on their facebook today about switching to the GNex because of the unlocked bootloader. Said i didn't understand why they were going to let verizon bully them around but let samsung bring out a device with such an easily unlocked bootloader...
I really like HTC's hardware, I just really hate sense. I want vanilla android...Since HTC won't sell me a rezound with stock GB or ICS, i have to have an unlocked bootloader to get it.
From VZW Support
I can't speak to how HTC phones are supposed to be configured, only how VZW phones are configured. Our phones are set up with software protocols that protect the operating system. Unlocking features expose the device to risk.
When I mentioned the Nexus being unlocked, there was no further response from them.

Contact htc/att for updates

Hi to all.
I was thinking of requesting all members out in the community (at least on XDA) to put a shout out to HTC and/or AT&T for getting us update to Ice Cream Sandwich. Perhaps if we were all to send in an email or something then it may get the point across to them that we want ICS - if not at least some news about their plans. If we all pool in and probably bombard them it may get us some more solid response rather than only 1 or 2 of us trying our luck.
I was thinking that around the 15th of May we would all get to it.
juannicolas has already agreed to help in.
Request all with the device to pool in.
We will however need adequate contact details for getting through to the right people. So those of us who have gotten a reply previously/know any contact details, please add them in so that it will be of aid in our project.
I got an email from HTC - a customer service specialist from [email protected]
Please add in any other contact details available.
Also, I remember cookiesowns @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17799114 having got his hands on a dev device. A big shout out to him to help us if he can get in contact with someone at HTC he knew from who he got the device so that that person could help us out if possible. Will PM him later on.
UPDATE 9th May, 2012:
As of now, we are planning on going ahead with how many we can on the 15th May, 2012 and then again on the 1st June and then decide further plan. Thought would be a good idea to update the 1st post here:
The following will be the locations where we would voice our concerns:
Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/HTC - post in
Facebook HTC USA: http://www.facebook.com/htcusa - post in
Twitter: https://twitter.com/#!/htc - tweet
HTC ICS Blog: http://blog.htc.com/2012/03/ics/ - comment
HTC Tell us what you think blog: http://blog.htc.com/2012/04/your-phone-your-thoughts-tell-us-what-you-think/ - comment
HTC Support: http://www.htc.com/us/support/email-support - email them
HTC write a Review for HTC Jetstream: http://www.htc.com/us/tablets/htc-jetstream-att/ - include grievances about no ICS/information about updates
Also, an online petition has been created for all HTC tablets wanting ICS (Flyer, View and Jetstream) and they also joining in. Link is http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/htc-tablet-users-want-updates/
So, do sign in, spread the word and lets hope for the best. Will post further updates in the thread and in this post as well.
UPDATE 14TH MAY 2012
Many of you have heard about thenews posted at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1651651. We will however still continue with the above plans tomorrow-I.e. 15th May 2012 by contacting HTC by different means. However, a small change. Please add in that give us ICS or release the source code and partition block data so that we can do so if you'll aren't interested.
Ipetition for the same also made at http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/release-source-code-and-block-partition-data-for/
Do sign, spread the word and join in tomorrow. We shall repeat the exercise on the 1st June again. HTC is liable to answer us so we deserve an answer. Chances are more we will get an answer if we all join in.
I'm in.
but i'm not sure that bombarding a useless minion that knows nothing will do the trick..

Would it be a good idea to add in an online petition too? If yes, anyone willing to take that up and get it started as well and share details here?
I am in the process of manually getting hold of the users who have a Jetstream so as to PM them all about the plan and ask for their support too.
Have got only the Development section to check for users who posted in the General, Accessories and Apps sections. Will take a while for sure.
Count me in although I M not on AT&T I am on Rogers...
It is my opinion that we shouldn't do this until xda posts an rss news feed about the organized attempt to contact htc and plea for an update, potentially reaching more users to join this bandwagon.
5 or 6 people emailing htc does nothing.

are we to try doing all at the same time (Hour-wise)?
also, i'd try contact the flyer forum and unite with them. as the "ignored htc tablets users"

Me too. And contacting AT&T probably won't do much good. It's not like HTC's released ICS for the Jetstream and AT&T is holding it back. If AT&T + Rogers could market this as an ICS tablet, it'd theoretically sell better.

That is also a good idea. Don't mind it either way. I managed to list out those active on the forum and am ready to send them all a pm to invite them to join in-its around 120 or 130 people. But then again we aren't certain how many will join in too.
I don't know how XDA will post the RSS and when. If that is what others feel would be the correct step ahead, then let's do that. Opinions from others? I am willing for either options and will surely contribute the best I can. Basically we need to take an organised step with a lot of the users out here so as to catch HTC'S attention rather than a few of us just getting small "ignorance is bliss cues" from HTC - and for this I do feel more the merrier would be more effective rather than the earlier the better.
On another note, how can we get XDA to issue such a News feed? Do we have to request someone or contact someone or something? Can the forum moderator also please guide us about this?

I feel it would be better to add in our own messages rather than the same hum drum of same messages. And let's add in the HTC USA Facebook page as well to the list.
As seen above, typhoopnikan feels it would be a better idea to wait for XDA to issue an RSS then we take action. I feel its a good idea too. Others please voice your opinion so we can decide. Perhaps if 1 of you could poll in, we will go with the majority (sorry but I don't know how to start a poll here or would have done so myself)
And as far as including HTC Flyer section guys also in, it would certainly catch the attention of HTC more than just us Jetstream guys but it would also take a lot more organising, spreading the word more and getting more to join in which would surely take more time. If someone from the Flyer section can take the responsibility to pool in and coordinate with us, perhaps it could work.

Contacting AT&T and/or Rogers I felt would be a good idea so that we don't leave any page untouched. Personally I don't have either so they will just not reply to any of my queries. I sim unlocked my device around December 2011 - January 2012 and have been using different SIMs with it. Still, I would go with the majority-as the majority say, so we shall do.

Petiton HTC to release the source code for 3D and 4G

Hi all!
I started a NEW petition at avaaz to get the 4g and 3d source released. I know this has been tried before, but avaaz has much better ToS and more users worldwide so it may get more votes than the petition at change .com did.
Please sign the petition and share the word afterwards on fb, twitter or with email!
Link: http://www.avaaz.org/en/petition/HTC_release_the_source_code_for_4G_and_3D/
First if anybody wants to alter the petition in any way (edit text, pic), let me know as I can edit it. We must do something now or we may never get the source.
It has a goal of 100. That seems pretty insignificant to matter...
Sent from my Evo 3D CDMA using xda app-developers app
Actually, it has pretty much 'infinite' goal. LOL. After 100 have signed the goal should change to 500 as far as i know. Peace
I'm pretty sure a petition isn't going to make HTC release its source, but nice try!
I feel a more effective way is to continually bombard their support with requests for it to be released with very good arguments why they should. A petition is easy to throw into a stack of papers and be forgotten, constant reminders that there is a demand for the source gets more notice.

No harm in it so I've signed. Going to hammer their support through Twitter etc too cos both methods get noticed. Can't afford another phone for ages yet so would be a cool novelty to get 3D working, I'm sure there's developers who want it working too. agrabren has said he wants it so IF we get the code our phones will remain relevant for much longer
3d is in their power but they can't release it for 4g because that's completely up to sprint, its a sprint proprietary driver so you would need to petition sprint for it but 3d is possible from htc.
Signed! GL 2 us ALL
What if we all send them e-mails !!!!
Haha, I think that would totally piss them off but we can do this. Lets create a good example message and put the link to the htcdev email form next to it. That way we dont need to waste our time because the message is the same anyway. Then lets just spam them till they give up or set up a spam filter sounds lika a good idea indeed
I deleted this post
Okay, after mailing htc for a few days, they said it was being worked on and that we will get it in the (unforeseeable) future and when the source is released we could enjoy our phones even more. (I hope they didn't lie )) i will send them mails every day lol, ;P
Also is there some way i could totally delete a post i made ? ? ? ?

Booking.com (Your support is needed)

Hi everyone,
I contacted Booking.com and asked if there is a future plan for a WP app and unfurtunately, there wasn't!
But, they say if many people contacted them about a WP app, they will do it. So please help me by contacting them on their twitter account (@bookingcom)

You kinda need to tell us why... Also who is booking.com and what they actually do.
I'd like to also mention this is more of a place for developers to post their apps and get some community beta testing out of the way.
