I just bought the photon and came from the Epic. For my epic i used to have wall chargers that came with two aftermarket batteries that i bought from ebay. I loved having those, i never had to plug my phone to the cord. The price was like $13 to $15. Has anyone seen anything like this yet? Maybe its too soon.

I've seen a allegedly compatible charger on ebay for about $6-7.
No batteries yet that I've seen.
I have a 2nd from a return and I would love to keep it charged. The charger on ebay seems like an adjustable generic.

i've seen they are going to offer a charger with extra battery. they aren't out yet but are on preorder.

that's not a bad price for oem considering the battery alone is 49.99 from moto store...
I'm hoping someone comes out with a dummy desktop dock without the functionality of the HD dock. I need one for work so I can place the Photon in. I hate just laying the Phonon around without a dock.
Also hoping to see desktop phone holder/extra battery charger unit like the one I had for my EVO.

I carried an extra battery for my Epic and I was wanting something like that for the Photon. After taking the back off to put in a memory card I'm a bit concerned about how the back is going to hold up being taken off a lot to switch batteries. I was a bit surprised that my Epic back had lasted a year of being constantly taken off so maybe the Photon will surprise me. If not I guess I will just need to keep a stash of backs handy..

I went ahead and used binder clips to create a dock for my desk at work. Originally used it with my HTC Hero, and am now using it with my Photon.
There is an article on Lifehacker about doing this, which I used for inspiration. (Can't post the URL apparently, since I'm a n00b.)
It might not be pretty, but at least it sits up now and is easily viewable from my usual sitting position.
i dont like bulky battery
Does anyone know if the Atrix battery can fit in the Photon?
Atrix comes with 1950 mA vs. 1650 mA for the Photon
Thanks
wondering the same
Anyone confirm or deny if the Atrix battery works?

Has anyone seen anyone selling and OEM EVO 3D battery? I had a bad experience with cheap Chinese batteries, so I never buy them. I need an OEM.
Also, what about a wall charger for the extra battery. Has anyone seen one? Seidio will probably sell one, but I don't see it up yet.
I'm just curious as to what you mean by "a bad experience"? I also bought some cheapo $10 chinese batteries for my Evo, and they were great, except the build quality was crap, they basically fell apart on me after about 6 months. What happened to your battery?
On an older, dumb phone, I bought a Chinese extended battery. After about 3 months, the battery started causing my phone to reboot constantly. It took me a long time to figure it out. I vowed never to buy a knockoff battery again.

ebay got plenty if you are willing to go that route
I ordered this battery as a backup for my EVo 3D from Amazon and after conditioning the battery the last couple days, I got 22hrs 4m and 13s on it. Highly recommend

I also ordered the cheapo batteries with charger off of Ebay. 3 batteries and a charger for $12.00. havent tried them yet though.

Android central sells them

If I decide the keep the EVO 3D, I'll probably want a spare battery and a charger for the spare battery. I'd consider something like this if it had a spot for a spare battery. I don't want the extended XL batter since I keep my phone in my pants.
http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/bd2-crdhev3d.htm - anyone know of something like this but with a spare battery charging spot?

Like a few others I have found (and tested) these and It seems to be the best choice. I does include a USB port for dual charging. They cost more but its well worth it:

Thanks, I was thinking about just getting an OEM battery but what I'm looking for ideally is a single cradle that I can just dock my phone in but also have a spare battery charging in.
Here you go:
http://www.obostore.com/-Discount-for-htcdopod-evo-3d_c144.html
Have the original one for the OG EVO (about a year now,) worked pretty good....it is on my wifes desk at her work now.
thanks for the link
I found one at the Kidigi site a few weeks ago. It isn't out yet, but I emailed the company and they say it should be available at the end of July.
I saw another model on eBay and a few other sites, but the spare battery charger holds the battery horizontally, which takes up more space on your desk. It looks like the Kidigi cradle holds the spare battery vertically, saving some real estate.
Apologies for not posting a link to it. I joined a few years ago when I had a problem with a different phone but haven't posted enough to be permitted to post links yet. Anyone interested can find the cradle I'm referring to by searching for the manufacturer's name, Kidigi.
I still wish the official HTC dock with the MHL adapter-compatibility also had a spare battery charger, though.

edit: oops misread lol
Has anyone tried other phones battery on the photon?
I checked the accessories from the Motorola site, and they have a battery charger for our phones battery and it is also compatible with bw hw bf hf and bh series battery. ours is HF6X right? so if our batteries work with that charger i'm pretty sure the other batteries would work with our phone.
Heres the link http://www.motorola.com/Consumers/U...attery-Doors/Battery-Dock-for-HW-and-BW-US-EN
I dont have another battery from other motorola phones to try it. If someone else does would you try it in our phones? thanks!
I havent tried any different batterys, but ive tried a bunch of chargers and they seem to all work well. used a verison car charger from my friends BB. used an HTC charger. and used an off the wall china mass made discount special car charger.
all of those charged well and i didnt experiance any heat issues.
Just get the OEM HF5X Battery from Ebay for $16:

yeah pretty much chargers are becoming universal as the standard for phones are now micro usb i believe. with the exception of Apple. Reason why I ask the original question was cause I dont really like china branded battery that much, not that i hate it as i've had a few in the past but if i can get OEM batteries cheaper than 20 bucks, i would go that route instead.

well thats not OEM.. just compare the mAh to ours. ours is 1650 and that is 1500.
Don't think that is OEM, its 1500 maH and made by CS Technology.
I went this route (had these for my Epic, good results) just received them today, they fit and work.

Check above. The battery I supplied is OEM for $16 from Ebay. I got it for $25 2 weeks ago. Oh Well. The OEM# for the Photon is HF5X. I called Moto and this is what they told me, PLUS it's on your battery. Just pull it out and look at it.

Well, when I got mine it stated a rating of 1650MAh. I am looking at it right now. Maybe the 1500MAh batteries are knockoffs, but the one I got is a Motorola OEM (that's why I paid $25 instead of $16). Oh Well. I have used it and it works just like the one in my phone.

well if you say so, i'm not gonna doubt you. but the battery you received for 25$. does it look identical to the battery that came with your phone? because on that ebay listing, my battery looks nothing like that.
I know the original Droid X battery is not compatible ... tried it already.

Pretty sure the Photon battery is unique, maybe not when the Bionic comes out but as it stands now. If you see a battery that claims it is for Atrix/X2/D3/Photon (or any combination), it will not fit the Photon, they are just guessing that its the same, which is not.

Hey.
My girlfriends little brother spilt liquid all over her phone. Now it works but it will not charge, i gave her my battery and if worked fine but refuses to charge. Due to working different hours i cannot use my phone to charge her battery.
Sent it back and they knew it was from liquid damage so they gave it straight back.
What can i do? Buy a new board of ebay or something?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
you might get away with just replacing the USB board, which is a really quick easy change...
you could also go on ebay and get the Anker battery and charger set which includes two 1900mah batteries (same dimensions as the stock 1600mah)
1 charger for the battery
It costs about $20 and means you can charge 1 battery, use the other...
Oh awesome might look into that battery thing.
And i thought of the usb board replacement to but where can i get one?

such a cheap fix, it's worth trying that before replacing the whole main board which is $$ whereas the battery idea is quick, and the batteries are just flat out handy... especially because you can charge them outside of the phone... i believe you can use the charger on your Nexus too... it's a cool adaptable charger. so for less than $30 you can get the batteries, charger and the usb board shipped to you... which i think is a way better idea than trying to get a main board.
PS... thanks button haha

Bought the same pack from a different seller a couple months ago. I think I paid about $10. Regardless price can't be beat.
Pros:
Pretty good life, roughly 75% of OEM.
Cons:
Charger has since crapped out, one of the pins broke off inside.
Batteries wouldn't charge in phone, gave message "battery disconnected" on screen
One of batteries died on, wouldn't charge.
Overall a good deal so long as your charger doesn't crap out like mine did. I've had this same charger come with almost every cheap battery pack ive bought for different phones. It's the exact some one except the size of the battery slot changes for each battery. This is the first one i've had crap out so i'd say its a fluke.

How much did you pay for yours, $30?
I have this one as well.
I have the same pack and I purchase from the same listing at Amazon. It allows me the added assurance of battery power.
CONS:
The batteries wear down faster than the OEM battery that comes with the phone
Something else to carry so you need to have them in your pocket or a traveling container of some sort to carry them with you.
PROS:
Fast swap with a fresh full charged battery.
I love the charger has an USB port where you can plug your micro usb cable in and change the battery in the phone at the same time that you charge one in the dock.
It was worth the buy for me. I'm always looking for more ways to accent my device experience.
