So im almost home from my 2 week trip on the road and was looking for a new linux distribution to install and noticed a lot of them are releasing the new kernel. So it came to mind if it was possible to use the new 3.0 kernel on the atrix?
Second, now that we have an unlocked bootloader is anyone working on a dual boot with any other mobile linux os's?

Just found out that the Atrix 2' comes with Firefox 5 installed for the Lapdock 100.
Anyone know how to update from FF 4 to FF 5? I did the apt-get but it said no update available?
Cheers
As far as I know that is not possible since the Atrix 4G Webtop is based on Jaunty and as such it does not support it.
There are currently efforts to get other more advanced webtops to our Atrixes.

So Atrix 2 is not using Jaunty?
PS I'm using Ubuntu modified for full linux use
Cheers
I did think so. Maybe maverick anyway.

Kernel development seems to be heating up.
I have only a vague idea of what a kernel is... seems to be the most primal software that interacts with the hardware.
If a new kernel is built up like the xoom to atrix project right now, will that ultimately give us an OS that is stable and has full use of the atrix's functions? Such as video recording.

Im trying to port it now. But, im not not exactly the best and im having troubles..
Best left to an experienced dev for now. And the previous user was correct, it will require an unlocked bootloader, so if your running the ota 2.3.5. Your out of luck

So is it recommended to be s-off these days? I'm familiar with the Juopunut bear method... But I was wondering what was the current accepted method for being able to flash kernels from recovery as opposed to having to flashboot flash or use flash image GUI.
I used to be quite in love with these devices... Buy I have three that were given to me. I am planning to use this as a WiFi device and the others for messing around with FireFox OS and Ubuntu touch.
So what I'm asking about is: which method would be best to do these.

Just going to go with Juoponut technique and 1.5.0

Yeah probably the best/easiest way
