hi all how can i flash powerwashed rom over superclean 2.9.2
im still on EB01 modem thanks
How did you flash EB01 and superclean? My spider-sense (yes, I am spiderman) tells me that a similar process is involved.
1. check cwm to see that its 3.0 or greater.
2. if neded upgrade cwm with one of the billion versions floating around
3. Wipe everything. Data, dalvik, cache. (You wipe your ass when you are done with a ****, give your phone the same courtesy when you are done with a ROM-- otherwise expect redness, itching, force closes and possible infections)
4. Flash the new rom in cwm.
5. Eat cake.
The cake isn't a lie, it's a necessary step. Don't follow the steps and you'll be flaccid for the rest of your life.

One thing about powewashed: if you have ext4 lagfix enabled you need to disable it. The edo5 doesn't flash well over the lagfix. Use cwm or voodoo control from the market to disable. I can't speak for the beta 4 with voodoo but the others needed this step to be successful. Check the op on the powereashed thread under fascinate development.

Yeah voodoo control app only applies if you have the lagfix conversion or a custom kernel that supports voodoo sound/color.

I've been searching and reading for the past two hours. I currently have stock Vibrant with the new J16 OTA update. I want to root my phone and install a custom rom. I see there are many ways to root, but can someone guide me to a tutorial that guides me through the best way to Rooting and flashing a custom rom? Secondly, is there a tutorial on how to get back to original factory rom for warranty?
Thank you

The answer to ever question you could possibly ask. . .at the top of this section that you probably didn't see, right under that pesky new topic button.

My $0.02, skip the FroYo ROMs for now, they are all broken to some extent. Bionix Fusion, for me anyway, is the best and most stable custom ROM available for the Vibrant. EVERYTHING works, and it is fast and rock solid!
Root Vibrant
Bionix Fusion 1.1
You can't go wrong from those links.

Quoted for truth, Bionix is magic.
I just want to know what I should do to get a solid Kernel and rom. I don't care about speed (well, to an extent), I just don't want to have to pull my battery and keep getting force closes and ****.
Right now I'm on evil fascination with PB&J
EC01 leak worked great for me.. didnt have any problems n it was fully bloated!! updating to community here in a few.. good luck!!
I used to be on voodoo but I had nothing but problems... is it more stable now?

All of the big ROMS right now should give you stable performance. If they don't, odds are you neglected a step along the way. If you really want to be sure you wiped everything unmount everything in CWR and format it (expect your SD card). Then pick up the EB01 (or earlier) Odin set with a pit file and repartition your phone while flashing back.
Then flash whatever ROM you desire.

As it says - just released - OTA located here:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&model=GT-I9300&pcode=BTU&os=1&type=1#firmware
Direct hotfile link download here:
http://www.hotfile.com/dl/169849263/c8dc928/GT-I9300_BTU_317527811.zip.html
Best install method is same as previous OTA leaks:
1. Obligatory Titanium and nandroid backup
2. Into recovery and full wipe/factory reset.
3. Full dalvik and cache wipe.
4. Install BLG8 ROM via Odin - BLG8 ROM here: http://www.hotfile.com/dl/169427082/...13482.zip.html
5. Install CWM root via Odin - CWM Root here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1695238
6. Boot into recovery and install LH1 modem - LH1 modem here: http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommana...eworkx&deviceName=Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300)
7. Stay in recovery and install latest update leak
8. Do not update via google playstore.
9. Download Titanium Pro and restore apps with data
10. Just in case but dunno if needed – go to recovery and in advanced hit fix permissions
EDIT:
Some people are having FCs on Keyboards. It seems that this leak may not like two KBs being installed at one time. The only way mine is now working was by freezing Swiftkey in Titanium and then rebooting and only using stock KB.

I have looked everywhere for an answer but have found nothing. I can use my phone just fine until it completely freezes. I am left with no option but to take the battery out and restart and come back to a low battery that went from roughly 80% to 10%. I have no clue what to do. I'm not sure if i need to wipe and format. Can anyone give me some advice? If it's a case of having to wipe, can I have details on how to do this without losing information?
Thanks

i think you have the original firmware, try to install the newest firmware LSJ you can get this at sammobile.com or you can choose a custom rom which you can find here

Yeah, you're on an official rom, and since you don't know what it means, I assume you don't underclock (UC) and/or undervolt (UV)
Ever considered rooting and flashing a custom rom? Or, like stated above me, flash some other official firmware through Odin to see if the problems still excist (except someone else has another sollution).

So, I was recently asked if there was a way to go back to the stock kernel without reflashing the rom. While i wanted to say, "Just reflash the rom", that could be kind of an inconvenience for someone who has added mods of their own or flashed a theme they liked. So after doing a quick research {Credits to Google), I quickly put together the MJ9 Stock Kernel for the Verizon Note 2. This is mainly for those who flashed the AGNI or Devil Kernel and wanted to restore back to stock kernel.
MJ9 Stock Kernel - http://www.mediafire.com/download/b0w2hq1ukbdf33f/MJ9+Stock+Kernel.zip
Mirror (AFH) - http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23311191640113944
So now you are free to explore with other Verizon Note 2 Compatible Kernels and tweak to your liking. And if you do not like the results, you can go back to stock kernel without reflashing the rom. Just remember...first and foremost, MAKE A BACKUP before anything.
Have fun!
Fricking awesome
You are indeed the man Trenton!!!
