I'm realy interested in ad-hoc tethering with archos 70IT, but I'm using Android for 2 days now so the instruction there is a nightmare for me
You need root for it to work. No root, no ad-hoc.

I know that. I forgot to say I was curious if anyone with temp root tried that method.
Moved to general as not android development
temp root wont work because the FS is still compressed, IE: Read Only. until someone cracks that one, it wont be editable, therefore impossible
youd have better luck working on getting your device to allow infrastructure wifi instead *hint hint*
This is post touchwiz, but can the 10.1 with a mac? If so, anyone know how?

Hi All,
I recently bought an Atrix. I would like to root the phone and then flash a custom ROM onto the phone. However, I have a Linux OS on my laptop (running Ubuntu 10.10) and all the guides I've seen use Windows programs.
Has anybody successfully rooted an Atrix using Linux, or has anybody come across a guide that explains it using Linux?
Any help appreciated.
If you looked at the sticky at General forum you would see that: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1255548

And about flashing roms, you need to unlcok your bootloader first, and you can do it with Linux system, read here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1136261
Good luck and have fun
Cheers. I'll check out the links later.
The links talk about gingerbread - my Atrix (UK) still runs on 2.2. Will the aforementioned method still work on my Atrix?

ask question regarding my Viewsonic GTablet 2.2. I am a Windows user and new to Linux. I have been trying to install Netflix on my Gtablet but can't get it to work. Researched the internet and most answers are to change my ROM. I am not comportable doing this procedures as it might damage my device. Is there a software that will do it for me? All I wanted is for Netflix to work on my Gtablet 2.2. Please Help! Thanks!
