[Q] CM7 Mobile Hot Spot not working properly - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Please help. I am running CM7 on my fascinate. JT's original 7/17 release with included Kernel.
I just tried using the mobile hot spot feature. When I use, the little symbol comes up saying it's broadcasting. My computer sees it as available and connects to it with no problem. However, when I try to access a webpage, the computer tries to connect for about 20-30 to seconds. At this point, the 3g symbol and my signal bars turn white. Soon after, the computer says Connection was reset, please try again. Then the 3g symbol and the status bars turn back to blue. (using carbonite them with theme chooser app.)
Any ideas what is wrong or what I can do to fix this?
Thanks.

[Q] Wifi issue

So, my dad and i both have the Atrix. However his is the one with the problem. There are times when he connects the wifi then both the wifi bars and phone signal bars go white and he cant access the internet at all. However if he turns off wifi the phone signal bars turn blue and he can access the internet. This happens to him in a couple of places one of them being our home. It happens to him whilst I can be doing the same thing and all my bars are blue. What could be happening?

Using ACTION_SCREEN_ON/OFF and wifi

I have a broadcast receiver that listens for ACTION_SCREEN_ON/OFF and then changes the wifi state based on the screen status, using the Alarm Manager to schedule wifi states.
I am having a problem because when I turn the device on, I am able to connect to networks just fine, but the WiFi icon in the notification bar is false. Instead of showing the blue connected icon (honeycomb), it shows a faint white status, almost looking like the wifi is off. It almost looks like the status when it is in the process of connecting, but not as white.
I have even commented out the section that turns the wifi back on during wake up, but when I connect by manually turning on WiFi, I still get the incorrect icon.
Any ideas why this is happening?
My understanding is that Grey wifi icon = Connected and green/blue icon = connected to google (for push and sync services)
No. I just turned off the sync service and it still shows the blue icon.
I just tested the app on a 2.2 tablet and it doesn't have this problem, but 2.2. only has one connected icon. Bummer . . . this seems to be a honeycomb specific problem. Anyone out there know a way around this?

[Q] Wifi connected, but no internet

Here's the outline of the problem:
I'm able to use the wifi to browse the internet and whatever. I turn the screen off and wait maybe half an hour. When I turn it back on, it says it's still connected to my wifi network, but I can't go to any websites. When I look at my Elixir widget, I see that the signal strength is 0%. The only way to fix it is to turn off the wifi and turn it back on, since there's no disconnect button.
Does anyone else have this problem, and is there a solution?
It's like the phone is half asleep and was about to disconnect from the wifi network, but stopped somewhere in the middle.
Seems to be a major problem for a select few on gingerbread roms. I suffer from it on DSC 0.65. A workaround for it is to use WiFi Reassociate (free on the market). For more information look here:

signal and data going from blue to grey

Im currently running latest paranoidandroid ROM and it seems that several times a day my signal and data goes color grey, while im in this status, i cannot receive any whatsapp or any connection whatsoever, i can receive calls tho.
Any idea how can i fix this ?
PD: same thing happened with latest rootbox ROM
I've noticed the same on multiple ROMs. It will be grey for a second or two then turn blue. I assumed it just meant it was in the process of connecting (e.g. wifi authorizing etc).
If for example I am connecting to a hotspot at Starbucks, I can connect to the wifi and the wifi bars will be grey. Then once I "login" to the Starbucks wifi where you agree to the terms and conditions, it gives you full internet access. That's when my bars turn blue.
It might be similar to the "limited connectivity" you get in Windows, connected to the network but with no internet access.
Though I might be completely wrong

Well yeah, actually, in my case, this does not only happen when connecting to wifi, it does happen at random times of the day. This is kind of annoying cause i lose data conectivity for a while and am unable to receive any kind of internet-related notification. :S
Anyone ?
My signal and Wi-Fi bars turn blue only when they're full. If i lose one bar they will turn grey. I lost Wi-Fi connectivity when I put to sleep my phone and fixed it by changing the keep connected while suspended in the advanced settings.

WiFi Signal disconnects when connecting

My wifi signal fades when trying to connect and then disconnects. Full signal bars will show and when says "obtaining ip" the signal goes all the way down then disconnects and its a loop. Just continues to do this over and over. Never had wifi problems before.
Solutions?

That happens to me on every stock- based ics 3.6 Rom I've tried, including stock. Only roms that fix it for me is nightmare sense & speed Rom (because they're based on sense 4)

I don't know about a solution, but mine does this when I don't have a strong signal. It says I have a good signal, but I know I don't cuz I'm kinda far away. If I go within range it'll connect, and then I can go back where I was and it'll normally stay connected.
