i can't make my flyer to be s off - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

Hi. i try to make my flyer to be s off but no luck all the time drink lemonade.I have HBOOT 1.10.0000 1.48.708.3.Try with goldcard without goldcard but nothing.Please help.

make sure that you have usb debugging turned on in your tablet and that you have it just sitting there on your homescreen. try running it again using a different usb cable. if that fails, it's probably your copy of windows. install ubuntu using wubi so that it's a temporary install. run the revolutionary linux tool and then after your s-off and custom recovery you can uninstall ubuntu from within windows.

You need RUU_Flyer_HTC_WWE_2.00.405.3 to be able to S-OFF, the purpose of the Goldcard is for you to flash to the 2.00 Version before you use Revo to S-OFF

[Q] Recovery help :D

So... was running the MikVirgin ICS rom on my S-on 1.50 Evo 3d. Was going to bring it back to scratch and go through the S-Off process to run something better. I have Revolutionary 4.0.1.4 installed and fastboot on my computer. For the life of me, I cannot get the phone to accept anything now :\ Trying to run the RUU gives me the 170 error and any rom I try loops at the boot loader (not the white HTC screen, but the boot image for the rom).
Help would be appreciated

The 170 error is normally a USB connectivity issue caused by a bad USB cable or Windows driver problems. You also need to have your bootloader relocked if you are S-ON.
See this post for RUU.exe troubleshooting steps. If you planning to get S-OFF you might be interested in trying my guide.

Yeah, I've tried it in Relocked status, and still no go. Even under fastboot USB (and I made sure the drivers are there) it won't recognize the phone is attached. I've factory wiped and I'm going to try and re-install the Mikvirgin rom again.

I had a similar (not identical) problem, and I solved it by pulling the zip out of the exe by letting it run without plugging the phone in and then looking through the folders in my temp folder until I found rom.zip. Renamed it PG86IMG, put it on my sd card, re locked with fastboot, and boom! Phone rescued.

Was finally able to get it loaded with an ICS rom after doing a factory reset, installing the rom, and then manually installing the boot file through fastboot. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow, doing the s-off procedure first Thanks for the input all!

[Q] Evo3D HTCDev Unlock not Working

I was wondering if there was an alternative way to unlock the bootloader for my HTCevo3D. I'm on hboot 1.58(ICS Stock OTA Update)
I've tried the HTCDev method about 50 times in total. Used 3 systems. iMac running Windows 7/XP, Ubuntu, and Mac OS X.
My Lenovo X61 laptop running Ubuntu, Windows 7/XP, and my custom-built desktop pc running Windows 7(ASRock990FXExtreme3 Motherboard)
So I've come to the conclusion that something is wrong with the phone itself.
Again, is there an alternative method for unlocking the bootloader so I can install a custom kernel?

There's a known problem flashing the unlock .bin file if you've upgraded to ICS using the OTA, causing the phone to hang instead of prompting for confirmation. Try flashing the RUU and then flashing the unlock .bin file again after that.
If that doesn't work you can try unknownforce's downgrade method in the stickies of the development forum to go straight to S-OFF, and you will need the RUU for that as well.

Are you on the stock rom, or did you flash a modified one? If you are still on the stock rom, unlock your bootloader via www.htcdev.com and then try the wire trick again. I had to do it a lot of times, but it eventually worked. Just keep trying and eventually you will succeed

First of all, you must be on stock rom. Every sense 3.6 based rom should work. Did you run ControlBear as administrator?
If you did, run murder.bat from the attached .rar as administrator, wait till it's done. Try again. Still not working? Extract all the files from the rar to a folder. Run controlbear from there (run as admin). Give me feedback if it worked!
Edit: I have to upload the file somewhere else, it's over 8 mb so cant upload here.

Also It's a good idea to disable antivirus. I always do it as a precaution so I don't screw up anything.

I unlocked with htcdev my bootloader, 4ext recovery installed, rooted. "Still not found device" etc... Any suggestion? I installed all drivers, fastboot/adb works fine. I installed mwakious3Drom 16.0.150_BASE_FINAL_RELEASE rom on my phone, is this the problem?

You need to go stock ROM first and then try s-off

If I keep a Nandroid, can I restore it after s-off with wiping the stock rom? Or I must start from the begining?
Well, in theory any sense 3.6 based roms should work. Not sure about mwakiousrom though. To go completely stock you must flash a ruu as far as im concerned. Just download the appropriate ics RUU. Link
Since you are s on, lock bootloader with"fastboot oem lock". Run RUU. It will take a long time to finish. After that you must unlock bootloader from htcdev. Flash recovery. And finally, do the wire trick. After wire trick flash hboot 1.49. Link. You need to format all partitions except sd card after hboot change.

I will do it with revolutionary because I know how revolutionary works (old Desire Z user ) but I need to downgrade hboot. In theory can I get a nandroid and restore after all this? Or the rom should be unstable?
You can restore stuff from a nandroid using this app
It restores apps/data, wifi settings, sms etc. It will require you to have a rooted rom. So in theory after you have done the wire trick you can flash a rooted rom and restore important stuff with this app

Gosh. Maybe there is a way, but i am not aware of it. It is certainly a lot more easier to do the wire trick.

My RUU.zip is in the Dirtyracun folder on Ubuntu LiveCD and have verified the checksum. Ihave seen by a google search that other people outher have had this problem (pastebin) but I havent been able to find a solution. Can anyone help me? Everry thing has worked in the s-off process til now...

I had firefox crash on me and this RUU takes forever to download. Right now I am stuck at the HTC logo and cant move forward. I have tried the IRC but i sat there for 30 min looking at no response. I have downloaded this thing 4 times now.
if I ty fastboot reboot, it tells me I ont have fastboot installed? I wouldnt mind trying something else if I could get my phone back!

do you have htc sync installed? it seems that you need to have this installed to have the phone recognized for fastboot it happened to me and I have used dirty racun twice as I had my evo replaced twice this month, install it and then try to run the fast boot commands, good luck!

That's based on HTCdev unlock, so as mentioned, use MyBackup Pro and SMS Backup+ to save what you may, that unlock will do a factory data reset, all user data and apps will go away.
That will give you full root, with an s-on unlocked bootloader.
The option to get a s-off unlocked bootloader is only open to you if you have a Windows platform to run the Dirty Racun tool - either in Windows mode or from a Live CD using Ubuntu. (This has to do with how the Mac platform maps access to the usb ports, the Unlimited.IO team's stuff doesn't support it.)

Yes, they don't support mac... Or windows virtual machines, nor live usb... Get a windows machine and try a dual boot or the live cd...

Unless you install it permanently, as soon as you remove the usb drive the pc will boot back up in it's normal and native os

live cd will work. you'll need to burn a dvd with ubuntu. its like a bootable windows cd. this might help: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LiveCD

I read that I have to dump something like mmcpfgdsbahi002 and change version number with hexeditor.
My problem is that my mmcgfyhrgi002 is full of zeros.

One more question, can I downgrade hboot with riff ?
i dont know what you heard but you should try an RUU after relocking bootloader to get back to stock
for downgrading hboot i would recommend you follow the wire trick method at unlimited.io
I tried relocking bootloader but when i try with ruu it said something like main version lower. As i understand it does not allow me to downgrade.
Also for wiretrick it says that i need to be on stock rom.
try an ics ruu. the correct ruu depends on where you bought your phone from and whether its branded or not. I would recommend you try the European ruu if your device is unbranded
