Hi there
I have a Motorola Atrix 4g, from ATT.
Everytime I turn off the screen I spot getting any notifications(im talking about any new email, whatsapp msg or google talk notifications). And i get them after I turn the screen on. I looked for battery saving options but didnt find anything.
Can someone help me with this? Why can this be happening?
Thanks in advance

Hi, I recently installed CM7.1 on my HTC Legend and everything has been running great - theres one issue that is annoying me.
There seems to be a notification that alerts whenever the network signal is lost and found. This wouldn't be an issue except my phones signal at work keeps coming and going so the notification is constantly going off.
I'm considering going back to the stock ROM. Is there a setting or way of disabling this notification?
Thanks in advance
Is it wifi or 3g notifications?
Pretty sure its the 3g notification as I normally disable the wifi
When you go into the settings menu there should be an option for notifications. See if there is a disable option in there. Otherwise, I'm not sure.
No, cant see anything specific. But theres all sorts of overrides and things in the profile bit, must be some sort of conflict
Hey guys,
unlike on my old S1 my new S3 shows some unneeded messages and couldn't find an option to turn this off.
For example when I turn on flight mode I always have to confirm it (see pic 1 at bottom of posting).
Or when I'm in a foreign country and have mobile data switched off, I always get a notification that data connectivity was lost (although it wasn't even on), see pic 2 at bottom. This message always returns once I turn off flight mode, too.
Any way to get rid of some of these?
Hi all -
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 4G. 3g, 4g, WiFi all work fine during use.
My problem relates to 3g/4g ("mobile internet") turning off when the phone has spent >3 minutes in the lock screen.
I can get 3g/4g to turn back on by clicking the home button/power key and then also entering my pattern to pass the lock screen. But until I pass the lock screen, 3g/4g remain off.
The issue is that I want my 3g/4g to remain on (despite the battery drain) so that I can always receive Whatsapp messages, e-mails, notifications, etc.
Note: I am NOT writing to ask how to increase my sync frequency. The issue is that 3g/4g actually turn off (ie, 3g/4g logo disappears from the taskbar).
I am NOT running any powersaving apps, and Power Saving on my phone is NOT enabled. In my "Lock Screen Options", "Wake up in lock screen" IS checked.
Happy to provide more details if needed.
Thanks everyone!
Lazey
I have the same issue with my Lenovo S860 4.4.2. If someone knows the answer please post it.
Thank you.
just got my dna a few days ago and love it, much better than my d2g. anyway, i'm annoyed by all the stupid icons in the notification bar and was wondering if there is anyway to turn some of them off. like the location icon, even thou i have all location services turned off. i also dont like the wifi network available icon, is there anyway to stop the phone from searching and notifying on its own? i've looked all over the settings menu but cant find anything. im not rooted yet but are there any apps to help with this without rooting?
thanks
Settings > WiFi > Menu > Advance > "Network Notification" turn off. You can also modify the build.prop file ex:
wifi.supplicant_scan_interval=135
You can add to build.prop under Additional build props if you don't see the scan interval.
I don't know what ROM your on but I'm on CM.
His: HTC DNA
Hers: LG Optimus G
im just running the stock rom and have not rooted. and the options you mentioned dont seem to be on my phone. i have the latest OTA update too
So I got myself an S9+ this past weekend and have been getting used to it for the past few days. Sunday or Monday, I turned on power saving as I have it on on my Galaxy Tab A 10.1 with no issues. Well after activating it, notifications stopped. I didn't get any Gmail notifications, no Discord notifications or Groupme notifications. I thought it was weird and started browsing for what could be the problem. After browsing and chatting with their support, who said I should be getting notifications, I decided to turn off power saver and send myself an email to test. Imagine my surprise when the notification came through.
Does anyone know why Power Saving Mode would disable notifications that have complete permissions and urgent settings for their notifications? Is this a reported issue or are there forum posts I haven't seen yet regarding my issue?
Thanks!

There are different levels to the power saving mode however you should always get TXT messages. Check the options that you select in Power Saver mode. That could be the difference. I would be more direct but I dont have my phone, its upstairs.

I had similar issues and had to dig around get advice from these forums before I finally made all the issues go away. Power Saving mode can put applications into a permanent sleep mode where they can't run unless you specifically call for them. Which means all those apps you mention aren't able to wake up to check for notifications even if they were pushed to your phone. It's annoying to open your application to check for messages, and after reading the message it tells you "Hey! You got a message!!" (because now you opened the app and it could check notifications).
The other issue I found was "Doze". After 20 min with the screen off, the phone enters a low power mode where it won't accept notifications pushed to it. This is oddly, completely separate from power saving options. It is possible to hand select applications that you never want to Doze (I believe). It was tricky to find.
