Yes, the price is highway robbery!
I got a handful of email replies today from the store they are available. I requested to be notified and the email says they are in stock now.
I don't know if you're aware of it but you can get one from Office Depot for $30.
NVM, I didn't realize you were from Norway. My bad.

$29.99 + shipping will probably be less than $49.99 anyway.. And American Dollars $$$ are cheap atm, compared to Norwegian Krone.
I got one @ local Office Depot store for ~ $32 including tax.
I got the email and checked but now it just says its on the way. I dont care anymore because everyone else has them and I got a couple spares.
I got one at OD for $30, when I thought my original was dead before I put it in the freezer and it came back to life.

I am sorry, but how the hell do you bring a charger back to life by putting it in the freezer? I have NEVER heard of that before!

When that happens, all you have to do is let it sit without being plugged in for 20 - 30 minutes and your good to go again. There's no need to put it in the freezer. Mine did this a couple of times and that's all I did. Something inside the power transformer gets too hot and shuts off so it won't burn up and start a fire or melt the plug.
Well thats a worry right there. It shouldn't be getting that hot anyway if it was manufactored correctly.
I agree whole heatedly, yet there are some people that this is happening to. I'm not sure if it's just a bad batch or if all of them are designed that way. It only happened to me twice. All the other times it's been fine. Weird I know. I wouldn't worry about it too much because it's good to know that the tablet is being protected.
Mine got hot when it was in an area where no air could move over it. Not melting hot, about as hot as my laptop charger. Not that Im all that shocked, its pushing 15v and a couple of amps so its going to get warmer than my phone charger. Its also really small for something doing that. Ive had some smaller laptop chargers get really hot.
Guess as long as it doesnt become an issue I would still take it over the Toshiba charger any day:

Search around - it's a common fix.
Also you will be thankful to me once this happens to you because now you know how to fix it.
I had to search for awhile to figure out wtf was wrong with my charger lol. I also spent money buying another one before being shocked that the freezer trick worked.

This is an O L D fix for Hard drives with on Board electronics IDE and up SATA too
if a multi layered PC board starts to separate because of heat, freezing can bring everything back in contact. Oddly, if it works 15 -30%, it usually keeps working for a very long period of time

It can, will and should get warm.
A side effect of pushing electrical current is heat. This is a law of physics.
The adapter shouldn't get hot enough to melt itself, but it might get hot enough to be unpleasant to hold in your hand.
A question to the hot-charger people.... are you plugging in when the tablet AND keyboard dock are both charging? I rarely use my TF for long enough that the keyboard battery is depleted and then the tablet battery is also depleted. I rarely use the tablet off of the dock.
Got a TF coming in a couple days, and tbh I wish I had read more about them before ordering it, it sounds like this device has a sh1t load of problems that cheapo chinese tablets have got.
disgraceful from a company like ASUS
hey guys...just wanted to let you know that Office Depot (in the US) apparently has these in stock. i have misplaced my charger, and was needing a replacement (my work is paying for it) so i thought i would google "asus transformer power adapter" and see what the link was for the asus store. yes i know its $50, but since work is paying for it then who cares right? anyway, upon doing my search i found a link to officedepot.com selling the power adapter (and cable) for $29.99!!
http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/768723/Asus-Power-Adapter-For-Eee-Pad/
it had "available in stores" so i typed in my zip code, and my local store had "limited availability" showing so i called them. the lady i talked said they had 1 in stock, so i had it held for me, and i just got back from picking it up. booyah! so check the site...you may have to order online, but it least its cheaper than the official asus store! good luck.

Funny I called Office Depot, they said they had one in stock, then said it was on the floor. I said what does that mean, and they said it is plugged into the demo unit. I said that makes no sense the unit came with a charger why would you list it separately since it is part of the unit skew. The guy didn't know the answer but insisted this was the one they had in stock. Told me they should have additional units in stock this week, so I will try again, but Office Depot is a mystery to me.

Up until this morning I had considered myself one of the lucky prime owners that had no problems with their device. The My prime has not suffered any of the defects I have seen other users having issues with, no screen bleed, great wifi, only a little issue with gps, and I purchased the unit from the one extra stock that the gamestop in SF received on the day they're delivered. Very happy overall with my firs tablet.... Until this morning..
Last night with my battery hovering around 15% I plugged into to charge, and got the wonderful little sound letting me know that night the morning I would have another full charge to waste f'in about.. When I woke up at 4 my prime was at 71% and status said not charging..... Strange I thought, and maybe a fuse had blown? No.... Every outlet in my house produces the same result.... No power getting to the prime
It was charged through a protected outlet in my server cabinet, so I know the power was clean and surge free.... Has anyone out there experienced anything like this before? I am thinking now that I will have RMA the unit because the charge circuits somehow failed.. I have no provision test another power supply for charging purposes and do nothing I have even seen extras available yet.. When I get to work I will verify that I still have connectivity to my pc and see what happens.
Please I would like some constructive thoughts on this matter.... I do not want to start another thread that catalyzes everyoneone into a fit of prime bashing or or telling me why I should returnitand buy a new device.... I am lookingfor hopefully a resolution or similar experience that can help me out before I make the decision to RMA for a new unit .... Damn and I only had a few days left to waitfor ICS
If it helps I am on the latest update 33, and rooted with jcase and viperboys (thanks guys, awesome work) tool....

Your charger is overheating. Did the same thing with mine, an hour in the freezer worked like a charm. Remember to put it in a bag though.
There is a temperature trip circuit in the charger, which evidently kills charging if the charger passes a temp threshold. This was apparently a very prevalent problem on the tf101, and has been known to carry over to the TF201 occasionally. I have not experienced it, but i have seen this 'fix' used successfully.
Definitely sounds worth a try then... I can try this fix when I get to work and report back... Is this something I should expect on a regular basis? I Can do it for a while until I can source a new charger, that I do not mind... At this point anything that keeps this thing in my hand and up and running is good news in my book. Thanks for the suggestion guys!

Please keep us posted. One of the first things I noticed when I got my Prime was how damn hot the charger got when charging. You can literally burn yourself if you squeeze it.
The charger is a piece of ****. Instable, overheating, buzzing, the one on my TF died a long time ago.
If it doesn't work anymore, find yourself a new one (that provide 12v output and not the regular 5v) with a USB port, it cost something like 10$ and you won't risk to set your house on fire each time you charge your TFP.

Put the charger in the freezer for a good couple of hours to see if it could be reset... after letting come back to room temp, I plugged it in and nothing.... charger is blown. Had to go to office depot to get a new one, but the good news is that it was not the prime itself! Thanks for the ideas everyone!
Have anyone been able to charge their Prime from their PC like it says you can do in the manual.
I tried and the Prime didn't show any indication that it was being charged, in fact it still said to connect it to a charger.

Op,
I have been watching people complain about this, if you plan to throw the charger away could I get you to toss it into an envelope and send it to me, I want to do some research on it to see if I can figure out why it is burning out.
Does anyone have a link to a cheap, compatible charger? I guess the voltage can vary as long as it's not too low, but the current should match that of the original charger, from what I understand.

Flyingwolf, being an engineer myself I was very curious about doing a little investigation of my own... But I only have a multimeter. I would hope this should be enough to get a general idea of what's going on. If you would like I would love collaborate with you on this and see if we can figure out what is going on. If I get to deep over my head (I am a mechanical engineer not electrical after all ) I would have no problem at all sending it along! Let me know and we can go from there. Was planning on cracking it open this weekend.

Far from being an engineer myself, however my love of all things electronic and my hobby of RC has forced me to learn as much as I can, I have become rather proficient lol.
Me personally I would just being doing some simple probe tests, figuring out if there was an issue with manufacturing (cold solder joint, too tight wire that pulls with heat expansion etc).
I am sure as a mechanical engineer you should have no problem figuring it out.

I paid 30 at office Depot for an OEM unit... I would recommend you always use the stock system to charge as it may have integrated circuitry to actually talk back and for to the prime for charging to correct levels. Further investigation as noted in my last post should hint at this so stay tuned. I will note that they keep the chargers in the back at my local store and when I called had no idea what I ws taking about. I had to give them the item number from online before they could find it... So I would check availability online and find a store that has them in stock before you go on a wander to find one. Hope that helps

So I just got my shipment from bestbuy and i open the box, try to turn it on and it doesnt. I charge it for 5-6 hours and see a green light on the power button steady so I unhook from the charger and try to turn it on and it doesnt. I hold the power button for few seconds, it vibrates but doesn't turn on. Can anyone provide any insight on what's going on? Is this device defective?
Have you taken it out for a nice seafood dinner yet? Remember, you have to treat it nicely and make it feel special before you get what you want from it.

If it vibrates, that means that it has booted, but if you see nothing, it's most likely your display.

I'd say let it charge a lil more. Of it still doesn't cut on,Exchange it immediately. don't even wait. Its supposed to be charged for 8 hours on first use. Lots of primes shipped with low battery or dead ones. zif the next couple of hrs. it don't cut on, just take it back. No reason for you to deal with the Hassel. let us know how it goes or if it ends up booting up. There were others in your position and after a good long charge, it booted up. After that prime charges from 0-100% in 2-3hrs. it charges up very fast. good luck

There is a tiny hole to hard reset it on the side, you could try that. Also, this thread has people with the same issue but theirs was resolved in an hour or two after it was charged.

This is the thread I found out about the hard reset hole.

I would try those things and then decide if you want to wait overnight or return it. If they have stock right now I would get there quick and return it.
Try holding the power button in for like a full minute once too. Your instinct will be to remove your finger after the vibration but just keep holding it.
Yea, i think thats what happened. F'in Bestbuy sent it in an enevelope w/o any kind of padding. The UPS guy threw it on my porch from about 10ft away so I am sure the display got damaged.

I got mine from bb a couple of weeks ago and same thing it wouldn't turn on. Dont bother with support. Just return it. I had no problem returning. The only issue is the dont have another to give you. Ordered mine through another company and this one is working fine. Good luck.
My second Prime done through OMS order came in a box with plenty of padding, though it came from the Ohio warehouse. The first primes not OMS was from California with the bubble wrap lined envelopes. Of course I have to send this prime back for 3 light bleeds.
Hm, looks like I am in the same boat. I even went as far to get Black Tie since the girl had kept an eye out and remembered me since December. Guess I have to take it back and take notes by hand in class tonight.
Update:Called back. Girl said that their display took hours to charge before it turned on. Oh Boy. They don't have another one coming for days so I guess there is no damage in waiting for it to get a SUPER charge. -sigh-
Update number 2: After college class my Prime sat on the charger for a total of 4 hours. It is now turned on fully, showing 100% battery life, and is about to get rooted.
My complaint here is, after makeing us salivate and wait so dang long they expect us to wait even longer to charge it!!. I must say Indignation! lolz. Now to find a Keyboard dock.

Same here "pending shipping" order on launch day.
I bought mine day one, no pre-order, and mine says pending as well. Called AT&T earlier this afternoon and they said it didn't even have a pending ship date, and the only people who would know anything about what's going on would be the warehouse. Naturally, there was no way for her to contact them. Going to call back today. May have been free, but I was told that I would receive it within a week. I haven't, therefore someone at AT&T is gonna pay for lying, lol. I'll report back if I make any headway.
Guy I talked to said they are on backorder, but it took him 30 minutes to get a straight answer. He said it'll still be around 10-14 day before mine even gets thought of when it comes to being shipped.

Seems to work really well. It doesn't charge as fast as the usb but it's not too bad. I was at 86% yesterday when it arrived and it took less than an hour to get to 100%. I haven't tried any other placement other than lining it up parallel with my phone. Not sure what you mean by audio cue, but it does audibly indicate that it's charging about a second after you set the phone down and takes 10-seconds to realize that it's no longer charging once removed from the pad. The pad has a white LED indicator to show it's charging and goes off when fulling charged.
Trying to eek by til December with my Nexus 6 as my ex-wife's kids are still on my AT&T plan and that is when there AT&T Next expires. I could get a new phone now with AT&T but I want a Pixel on Verizon.
My phone only lasts about 4~5 hours now and shuts off saying the battery is dead when it still has about 20% left. Guess it really doesn't!
Anyway I need a battery and I would prefer a factory Motorola battery but I'm not sure where the best place to get one is OR is I should be looking at something else.
Can someone give me some direction here? Thanks!

Nexus 6 Replacement Battery
Today, I’ve contacted Google Project fi before I order a replacement phone. My 18-months old N6 now only works with AC adapter plugged in after gotten worse for the last 5 weeks. Uggh! The Google CSA and I agreed that battery in my N6 is "dead". During the last minute, fervent research to 1) repair thru Motorola ($175 and up), or 2) myself, an electronic tech-retired ($30 or less), I found the following link:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/help/solution-phone-shutting-battery-empty-t3041226
After following that simple procedure, my phone NOW works without charger connected. (Hope this is the "fix" I was searching for the last several weeks.) Please give it a chance.
Few things I've considered inclining to $175 battery replacement by Motorola was N6 the BIGGEST screen and its initial cost of $600. BTW, least expensive Proj fi compatible phone is N5X at $249. Of many concerns: 1) Recent Samsung battery explosions; battery is very fragile item, same as my limb! 2) No OEM (Motorola) battery available at reasonable cost by third party; or trust eBay batteries? 3) Reliability of my phone, etc. These are my reasons toward repair by Motorola.

Good capacity measurements from accubattery. Phone easily lasts twice as long as before and no longer shuts off at 15-20% or when taking pictures / using the flash.
Seller forgot to include tools, but a steak knife worked real well to pry the back enough to stick some credit cards in.

I live in Turkey. Unfortunately, amazon does not send the batteries. Could you recommend product from Aliexpress site?

Then take a chance and try one as who knows what's real and what's exaggerated. No idea which is good from China. Maybe EBay from England or EU?
I recently bought a battery from this UK ebay store https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-...948627&hash=item4aff403767:g:TyUAAOSwr7ZW6plm
It says they are refurbished but I took a chance. I've been running the new battery for a couple of weeks now and it's been close to perfect.
Ordered the one nemanja066 linked. Should arrive within the next week. If the battery fixes my issues, I may have a Pixel 2 xl collecting dust!

I bought this battery today from your link. I hope the battery will be nice. Do you think the new battery will solve the problem of random shutdown?
Well, my HP Touchpad died awhile back after a good long run and I am finally getting around to cleaning out my office. I found my old dead Touchpad and some accessories. I have a good condition folio case, a slip case, a neoprene case, and a working touchstone charging dock. If anyone still has a working TP and could use these, let me know and I can ship them out. All I ask is that you pay the shipping. On a side note, if anyone has good advice on how to wipe my TP that would be great. The only thing that still seemingly works is the center button, it lights up and toggles as if it were charging. No combination of buttons will get it to turn on nor is it recognized when plugging in to my PC.
Thanks,
-Tory
Dear,
I'm interested for those things. I still have 2 working touchpads and would like to try using Touchstone charging dock. My address is in Kansas. How much for shipping cost?? Can I pay by Paypal??
Press and hold both power and center buttons for 30 seconds

It shouldn't be more than $10-15 based on a medium flat rate from USPS, if you want to PM me your address I can give you an exact amount. I won't be able to mail out until the middle of next week as I am leaving for Christmas vacation tomorrow morning. I'll PM you back with shipping cost before I ship it out next week.
I'd like to be back up if the first guy doesn't take it!
My touchpad was bricked to before try holding the power and home button down for at LEAST 2 minutes then plug it in and let it charge for a whole day if need be. That should revamp it these things are Tonka trucks lol.
Hi @laxplaya116,
Trust me, your Touchpad isn't dead... the fact the Power button lights up is an encouraging sign, and is more than mine initially did. I had not used mine in over a year, and when plugged in showed no life at all. Not even the Home button lit up!!! Left it on charge for practically 2 or 3 WEEKS.... (different chargers)
Couldn't find any situ's like mine, and asked for help around here... Which only a couple very kind souls did, but alas that didn't work either... So I started searching other forums, and found some good advice on a Blackberry Playbook website, which has similar symptoms. After a few trickle charges, I was able to bring my Touchpad back to life, and now its as good as new....
Looking back, I can see how sturdy these devices are... Sure they have a charging issue.... But once ya know the tricks, they soon come back to life!!!

Hello from Canada: I just got my touchpad 32 Gig a few weeks ago and have successfully restored it from dead to good. I am now running Evervolv 7.12 Android on it the latest version I think , it just loaded for the first time , anyways I am going to put IPTV with an APK on it , will video the results with my phone and post it here , if there is anyone curious about running IPTV or KODI on the HP Touchpad, (Kitkat 4.4.4 is too low , you need Android 5.0 minimum to run the IPTV apk or Kodi) just leave a message here for me. I am sorta an expert at installing things on these tablets with the help of all of the developers here on XDA so a BIG THANK YOU to all who have contributed to this project. PS: deafasheck: when the center button does not light up it means that the tablet is charging OK. Mine does that too.
