So i bought a set of skull candy headphones with the built in mic and answer/end call and skip track buttons but the controls dont work for some reason i tried them on a non rooted evo 3d and they worked fine im wondering if root somehow disabled something im running synergy nightly just wondering if anybody else has had this problem and if there is a fix for this,any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

That is a synergy thing. Back with my og EVO I had the same issue; the buttons worked with other ROMs but not with synergy. Maybe pm a few of the team synergy members suggesting that they add that feature back in.

No matter what ICS VM leak ROM I install, DSP Manager and Equalizer apps from the market do not work (even on the ROMs with DSP built in). The app runs, but the sound does not change when I change settings. On GB ROMs, the sound changes were dramatic, but on ICS, nothing.
On that note, when I enable or disable Beats, I hear an electronic popping sound (like plugging in a guitar with the amp already on), but the sound does not change. Again, on GB, the sound would change markedly between enabling or disabling Beats.

Anyone else experiencing this and/or anyone have any fixes? ICS sounds a lot better than GB by default, but I still like to adjust things myself.

To add to my research, according to MikeyXDA, global Beats breaks DSP Manager, Volume +, etc.

If I am not mistaken you can only have dsp or beats installed. I know on cm9-DevilToast-0.6.1-shooteru dsp works and its system wide. Currently running that ROM now so I know it works.

I saw my old thread and was surprised
So, to follow up with my latest findings. The mods from coolexe work well with the sense based version of the ICS leak. Problem solved with that mod.

Ok so heres the problem: I have rooted my Note. I attempted to use a sound enhancer to make the bass in my Beats (Dont wanna hear the hate, okay?) and for some reason I get nothing but sound problems with play back. It pops, cracks and randomly cuts off (The sound enhancement). I figured it was the Rom so I loaded up another one. Same deal. So I tried an AOSP ROM. Its works perfectly. I would use that rom but I am SEVERELY missing my S-pen functionality. So I just decided to completely unroot and go back to stock, hoping that would fix all my problems. I would get a properly working sound enhancer and S-pen functionality. Well now that im back on stock, the EQ is not working again...Is this a problem with touchwiz or the Note itself!? Im getting super frustrated. Ive wasted time and my patience is almost gone...I just cant seem to figure it out. Any ideas?
Make sure you don't have two equalizer or sound processors running simultaneously.

So any AOSP rom I've tried, I always have a problem with volume with voicemail. I've used both sprint visual voicemail and youmail, but with the same result. When playing back voicemails, either through the speaker or earpiece, the volume is all the way the up. Lowering the volume won't change it, it just stays at full blast. It's only been with voicemails, everything else volume related works great. It's done this on CM10, PAC, SlimBean, AOKP, anything other than sense based roms. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I am having this problem too. Volume is so loud and cannot lower it or change between speaker and earpiece ? I am giving DIrty Unicorns a try. I was wondering if you found a fix for this?

I'm back on MeanBean now, so hasn't been an issue. I tried Decks latest a week ago or so and I don't think it had this issue.
Hey everyone, I'm looking for the code to have wired headset controls for AOSP. Team Liquid's latest builds missed the code some where on and now the headset will not change volume while plugged in to phone, but are recognized when pressed as the touch key light up. The mic on the headset works and registers voice as well, just cant adjust volumes... or skip tracks while screen is off. If someone can point in the write direction that'd be great. Thanks guys.

For some reason, ever since running any version of CM, I've had bad luck trying to get DSP Manager to work...not sure if it's my music file format or what, but listening to the music flat makes me feel like I'm really missing out on the potential of the music quality this phone could really put out!
I ended up using Awesome Beats v5 on top of some audio fix file (which I'm having trouble finding the thread it was in, along with a link to this mod) in CM10.1, and it worked beautifully.
I've heard that Awesome Beats is not compatible with 4.3 just yet, unfortunately... Any ideas guys? Has anyone else found a solution to at least get DSP to not crash? Or have you gotten something like Awesome Beats working? As always, any input's appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Check out Viper4Android. It a uber cool sound mod. Its highly recommended :thumbup:

Thank you! It works great once you get it installed. I had to download SuperSU over top of using Superuser to get the driver to properly install, which means some extra steps when installing nightly 10.2 builds. Guess I'll just have to skip a few nightlys
