Hey everyone, I'm looking for the code to have wired headset controls for AOSP. Team Liquid's latest builds missed the code some where on and now the headset will not change volume while plugged in to phone, but are recognized when pressed as the touch key light up. The mic on the headset works and registers voice as well, just cant adjust volumes... or skip tracks while screen is off. If someone can point in the write direction that'd be great. Thanks guys.
Hopefully this gets answered.... still looking
Re: [Q]AOSP Wired Headset Controls
No ideas people? I'll search and read just point me in a right direction. I've read through 170 pages of the mr1 github for anything "headset" "wired" "music" "controls" but finally gave up on looking there... Any other places I could look for this stuff? Thanks again.

Shameful bump, this is one of the only issues with Liquid Smooth would be grateful to any help people.
I solved the issue, thanks for those that might have looked into it. Thread shall be closed, PM me if you ever come across the issue.

I searched first, and can't find the solution to this problem: Since upgrading from 2.1 to 2.2, the audio jack in my car that leads to a cassette adapter is registering on the Eris as a headset w/mic. This becomes a problem when I want to do a hands-free call.
It used to be on 2.1 with the same hardware that while listening to music in my car, if a call came in, the music would mute and I could speak and the phone's internal mic would pick me up. Now, with 2.2., it seems to be expecting the sound to come in from an external mic.
Any help in fixing this would be appreciated! This is one that will send me back down to 2.1 unfortunately, as hands-free calling is kind of key for me being on the road a lot.
I found this similar question from 2008, unfortunately unanswered:

Pretty simple question, theres got to be a software solution. I've searched high and low on these forums and many people have the same problem but I have yet to discover a resolution. How would one enable the internal (built-in) microphone having a 3.5mm audio adapter routing the sound through a casette adapter? Is feedback going to be an issue?
Thanks,

Big thanks to the community -- as you can tell by my post count, most questions I have are answered here before I ever have to post.
TRAU
Which ROM? Have you tried another Froyo ROM? I know my DEris worked on Kaos just fine.
I'm on kaosfroyo 35-1
Ive seen that problem in the new builds of kaosfroyo. I think its just a problem in kaosfroyo. Check with punk.kaos about it.
Oddly enough, after continued playing around with this ROM....
-- used metamorph to apply black status bar and circle battery with links from kaosfroyo faq on github
-- flashed the htc ringtone package
-- set autokiller to "strict"
-- setcpu to 480-787 default; 192-480 sleep
.... and the problem seems to have gone away. Not sure IF or WHY any of those had an impact. I noticed with the new status bar that all the icons were a little different, and it wasn't long after that I re-tested the microphone while an audio jack was plugged into it because I noticed the icon was just headphones now instead of the headset w/mic icon.
Hmm...that's a bit strange. Try calling someone with ur headphones in and see if it still trys to use it as an input device. Your theme change just might have covered up the problem.

Hey there folks. I'm looking for some type of script or adb command to over-ride the headphones for every sound when they're plugged in. When using cyanogenmod I found a CM setting, under the sound sub menu, that allows me to over-ride the headphones on particular sounds. This makes me believe there has to be a way to do it for every sound including music and phone calls. Any insight or direction would he appreciated. Thanks

Settings->CM Settings->Sound Settings. I think this is what you might be looking for and it's on all Froyo Vanilla ROMs that are CM based. Check the section titled "Note." It says all of those settings are applied only when headphones are being used. They seem to be what you're looking for. Hope this helps.

I appreciate your response but unfortunately that's what I already do lol with those settings I can enable alarms, notifications, and ringtone. My hope is that since cyanogenmod has those options, there has to be a way to apply that to the few things I still can't hear unless my headphones are in. This would include any/all music apps, hearing who Calls me without having to use speaker phone, and game/app sounds/music. I know my speaker can still play music because one day I was listening to music(with headphones of course!) And got a call. So I unplug my headphones and pick up the call n press speakerphone. Well, after the call when I hit end, I heard a split second of the song I was listening too beforehand on the speaker. That gives me hope that I can eventually overcome this. PS.- none of the headset overide apps in the market work.

I've installed the leaked version of Gingerbread on my Galaxy S and now I'm having trouble with the sound.
When I call or receive calls from someone I cannot hear anything but the other person CAN.
When I play a video I can see it but I cannot hear it.
When I try to play a song with Mortplayer I cannot hear anything.
BUT when I set the ringtone settings or the phones volume I can hear everything. I can even preview the songs I want to use as ringtones.
Can anyone assist? I really need to be able to make/receive calls ASAP. I'm currently applying for several job offers and waiting for a response.
Insane development to this matter. When I plug the headphone on the Galaxy S I can hear the sound through the SPEAKERS!!! If I pull the headphone jack out there's the speakers stop playing the sound again.
it seems you haven't read the OP in the gingerbread i9k port threads because this is a known issue with them and there is a toggle headset widget that "fixes" this.
Would you happen to have the link for it?
i'm not going to spoon feed you when it's in the dev section

Could you at least point me in the thread's direction? The original leaked gingerbread thread was deleted so I really don't know which thread do you mean.

Hi
This seems to happen to all music tracks I have been waiting for answer for 2 weeks now, I use a app called tiny call control, it just stops the last number dialing problem

Wish we can find a fix for this. Also seems the volume buttons on a stereo headset do nothing!!! So as of right now if you want to change tracks or adjust volume while using and Bluetooth or wired stereo headset which has all the buttons on it, you have to pull this device out of your pocket and do it all manually on the device. Which makes my $150 headset useless as of right now. Anyone finding or developing a fix for this?

Not really true: My Sony MW1 BT headset works perfect... I would say the same about all headsets with dedicated buttons. Tried the urBeats for HTC at a store, works without any problems. But you don't have volume control on this one...
Im using the beats Tours and the volume doenst work neither does play/pause, or skip, and i cant use the play/pause/skip button to answer and end calls like i could on my iphone. you would think a phone branded with beats would fully work with beats headphones... update soon hopefully? for this and for sense 4.1 and android 4.2, i cant see why HTC wouldnt want to keep their flagship up to date with the most recent android as long as possible... tho the original HOX is just now getting the 4.1 update while 4.2 is already out for nexus devices

Bro, 4.2 has been out for what, 48hrs? Lol, hold your horses for our update and from the few using it they say its buggy and not as stable or good as JB 4.1. No rush here for a buggy OS.
I think it might be a Sense problem with the headset controls. Weird the other poster said it worked for him and his headset, must have a magical headset? I have these earbuds, http://www.bose.com/controller?url=..._ear_headphones/index.jsp&model=mie2i_headset and only control that works is to pause and play the track, that's it. They have this version of the same earbuds, http://www.bose.com/controller?url=...n_ear_headphones/index.jsp&model=mie2_headset specifically for Android devices so maybe this is why it doesn't fully work for me? Still doesn't seem very likely. Going to get the new Jaybird's for Xmass and they are fully compatible with Android so will find out then if the problem still arises, http://www.bestbuy.com/site/JayBird...p?id=1218813784721&skuId=6917118#tab=overview
Are there any of these out there? ? Well.. not that I've found, and why is it not more of an issue? Am I the only one that makes calls on headphones? I love aosp but unfortunately this is a deal breaker for me since I can't hear very good to start with, plus the other person can't hear me..
I know I have posted this multiple times in multiple threads but I have tried everything I can think of to fix this problem but as of this point I have not found anything yet. At least not anything that will stick it after a reboot. Alsamixer does fix the problem with a few adjustments but it won't stick, obviously a system file resets it at boot.
Last night I found a file that configures the sound and does stick but I have yet to find the correct configuration. The file is toltecdma found in system/etc/sound. Any help is deeply appreciated.
The only one is the latest carbon ROM find it in original development. It has voodoo support built in just download voodoo sound from market . Ill pm you the link.

Thank you, does it also increase Mic volume on the headset in call. Every time I've used an aosp rom my wife has a lot of trouble hearing me and she has very good hearing.

Well, it's not a "fix" but I have finally "worked around" my problem. Using tasker and some alsa_amixer scripts I can now make/receive calls and be assured that I will have loud headphone volume and a loud mic so the other party hears me loud and clear, and just in case I have a tasker shortcut set up that will run the script with a click.
I am now happy enough with the volume that I can finally run the aosp roms as daily drivers.
I also boosted my system wide sounds by editing the /system/ect/sound/toltecdma file. It sticks after a reboot but when a call is initiated the in call settings are reset, hence the need for tasker.
Maybe someday I will figure a true fix for this but for now problem solved.
My assumption is that there is an xml that needs to be decompiled/recompiled (maybe one of the alsa files in /system/bin) to be edited, or the tiny hal configuration needs to be changed prior to building the rom. Not sure, but these are probably my next steps.
