[Q] Navigate from Calendar no longer working - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but Navigation from the Calendar used to work for me on 2.2, but not on 2.3.3. I have a Sprint Evo 4G, but I think it's the Calendar or Google Maps/Navigation that has changed. Repeating events used to work before, so it's not the way I've entered the addresses.
I used to be able to put the address in the notes section of a calendar appointment, open the appointment, click on the address, and Google Maps would pop up with the option to Navigate to it.
Now, it thinks it's a phone number and pops up an option screen to: Call, Send message, Add contact, or Save to existing contact. I can click on the Location field, which I usually put just the name of the place, and Google Maps will search for it that way, but often it returns several options, of which none are the one I want.
If it helps, when I click on the address, the phone number field shows, "geo:0,0?201+Main+Street... etc." How or why it thinks that is a phone number is beyond me, but is probably the clue to the solution.
While testing this, I found at least one address that did work as expected. That address also had a street number and street, but didn't have a zip code or a comma between the city and state. However, when I modified an address in another appointment to match, the phone still thought it was a phone number.

No ideas? Is there a better place to ask?

Last bump before I look for another place to ask.

On my new E4GT, this works like it did originally on my Evo.

[Q] Location field in calendar app

I previously had a Milestone and in the calendar app there any address I entered into the location field would be clickable and offer an option to open maps or navigate to it. In the samsung app I can add a location but it is not clickable. I have seen that you can open the map from the edit screen but this seems only to let you get a single map image rather than giving full functionality. Is there a setting somewhere I am missing?
Edit: I tried installing Jorte calendar and that has clickable address links working. When viewing the same event in both only Jorte allows me to click through.
Looking into this it seems the feature is simply missing from the samsung app rather than not activated and has been since the original galaxy. Is this something that can easily be modded?
I am needing this feature as well. When I had my captivate, stock did not have this but with the cognition rom it seemed to work. I don't know how it was modded to work. However, when I updated my captivate to the 2.2 stock firmware I897UCKB1, it had this feature. Now that I have a SGS2 its very disappointing that it doesn't have this again. I use the Clickable address location in calendar every day to get to appointments. It is so frustrating to have to open the appointment, edit the appointment, copy the address from location, hit home, open maps, hit search, paste the address, and hit search again while driving. This could all be done with one click if the location was clickable. I am willing to donate $15 to anyone able to give a solution using the SGS2 stock calendar app. Thanks.

The best i could think of is to do a search of the location before hand copy then copy the link to the description part on the calender entry. Also add the location snapshot (this is just a picture as you might have aready noticed). Now when the appointment pops up, just click the link(set it up to open with maps). This way you can getting the navigation running from the appointment itself.
add another one to the list of people who really need this feature.
i have just come from a year with a htc desire and its something i really miss.
This is a silly oversight. Something that other apps on the market implement without issue. I'm disappointed!

Problem w inline images on HTC EVO 3D stock Mail app w Google Apps as Exchange

So here's my problem....
With my old EVO 4G, this worked fine.
I get the EVO 3D, and set up my Google Apps account as an Exchange Mail Account and go about my day. I eventually start to realize that inline images (like a screenshot pasted into the sender's message body) will not show. I get a grey box outlining where the image should be. Clicking the option to "Download Images" goes through the process like it's downloading something, but when that completes, I don't see any images. Leaving the message / mail app and coming back also changes nothing.
I call up HTC and ask. Turns out the first guy I talked to could not find that topic in his help topics lists, and had to go ask people. He came back with the suggestion for me to use a 3rd party mail app like K-9 or TouchDown in order to get my mail. ...HTC saying to use another program because theirs doesn't work... weird.
That is not acceptable to me. (plus the fact that I couldn't get K-9 to connect to a Google Apps Exchange account.)
Other apps like TouchDown just seem silly and impractical, and I don't like the idea of adding some 3rd party app to do something that my phone is supposed to be able to do to begin with. (excessive)
I talk to HTC again after I figured out that it's just with using Google Apps accounts as an Exchange account on the phone, because if I set up the same email address as a POP account in the stock HTC Mail app, I see those images. If I have it set to prompt me to download images, then I'll see a blue ? in place where the image is recognized to be, and it shows when the images are downloaded. (No blue ? was shown when set up as Exchange, and no image was shown after 'download' finished.)
This guy seemed to actually understand what I was talking about, even tested it himself with his own setup, but ended with feeding me the phrase that he was going to be escalate my 'ticket.' (No, I haven't heard back on the topic)
Long story short. I recently had an issue where a client sent an email with a screenshot and a description in the body that referred to the image. I received this on my phone, and since this client hasn't had the best reputation of providing details when explaining things, I replied asking for details that were already in the image.... ...the image that I had no idea was there.
SO. Does anyone know how to get inline images to work with the HTC EVO 3D using Google Apps as an Exchange account?
I've resorted to using the Gmail app but that is also undesireable, because that is now mixed with my personal account and I have to manually switch accounts within the app each time I check mail. Also, you can't create an Android shortcut to a Gmail account inbox like you can with the HTC Mail accounts.
Also, with the latest update to the EVO 3D (I'm using the de-odexed stock ROM update of 2.08.651.2), I've noticed has removed a few things from some key settings menus:
1. Camera options no longer has Shutter Sound = off option
2. HTC Mail app settings for POP account no longer has option to choose HTML vs. Plain Text even though 'format' is listed in the decription for the "Send & Receive" menu)
Again, my EVO 4G didn't have this issue. I understand the versions of the Mail apps are different, but shouldn't things get better with time?
Thanks for your time, hopefully someone can help figure out the images problem, By not being able to see/know about content, it's starting to affect work, and that is a problem.

[Q] Calendar issues

Im loving my Titan, especially the calendar sync with windows live, google etc.
I run a Driving School and use the calendar to set up appointments with my clients, add them as attendees and save. However, when the email is sent to the attendee to accept the details of time and location are sometimes wrong, even if I leave the location blank.
Its led to a few missed appointments. Can anyone test this feature and see if its a common problem.
also, is there a way to change the "Im running late" feature to include a text message, rather than relying on people checking their emails?
Jonny
Not exactly clear what you mean. But calender events are sensitive to timezones. Make sure all pcs and phones involved have the accurate timezone settings.

What I mean is, I arrange an appointment with one of my clients and set it up on my phone. I generally don't add a location, as it is usually at their house, unless we have arranged a different place, then i will include that.
I then use the "add someone" button, select the persons email address to send the calendar .ics file for them to accept.
I have had reports from some of my clients who, when they open the file has had different times than i had originally set up.
Like I said, it is related to the time zone settings. Most ppl don't care to set their PC's time zone (default is PST/PDT). And if you're in a different time zone than that, the time will be different for you and your client. Let's say if you setup a meeting at 4pm EST and your client is setup(or rather didn't care to setup) to use PST on their PC. That meeting will show up as 1pm PST on their side. Since they didn't setup the correct time zone but rather adjusted the clock, they will see the meeting is at 1pm instead of 4pm you intended.
The bottom line is unless you can be sure both you and your clients all have setup time zone correctly, using this kind of meeting invites are prone to cause problems.

[Q] Plan B Alternative

update to this...
I pushed the app "Android Lost", and "Android Lost Jumpstarter".
I was able to
1) have the phone call me with this app,
2) get the phone number,
3) request a password reset on the t-mobile account
4) pull the texted password from the phone,
5) login to the tmo account
6) acquire owners name, address, lines
7) pulled GPS location, went to her work location.
8) Gave her a chance to return my phone. After refusing, had a police office retrieve my phone.
Wonderful app. Will be donating.
Plan B fell short. Way short.
I lost a phone recently, and someone found it. Unfortunately, the one who found it was not honest, and it has not been returned.
I found the app "Plan B", which is wonderful, except i never got the emails giving me any location info. The person who now has the phone has swapped sim's, so i cant text "Locate" to it. Also, since google play wont allow you to uninstall, Im pretty much stuck now. What i really need is a app like Plan B, but one that listens to email, or reports back to a server, and can be deployed via google play without any intervention on the phone. I just need a current in use phone number emailed to me... or a location...
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!

If you had Google maps installed, and you joined Latitude on the device. You can check it's location through Google Maps on your PC at home.

[Q] Display contacts in an auto expanded list. Is there an app?

I've been searching all over and can't seem to find a suitable app for this.
A family member has jumped from an endless parade of dumbphones to an Android based smartphone. Got all setup with a Google account and then I sat for about an hour or so manually entering names and numbers into Google Contacts, so they'll sync all nice and easily to the phone.
Now, no matter how I try to explain it, she doesn't quite get that if you open the contacts list on the phone and select a name, it presents you with all configured numbers, home, cell, work, etc, which you then just tap one to call.
No, she'd rather do extra work and create a separate contact, one for each possible number. "So that it looks like it used to...."
"Mr Contact One (home)"
555-555-5555
"Mr Contact One (cell)"
555-111-5555
"Mr Contact One (work"
555-222-5555
So, does anyone know of a contacts app that displays all numbers in an auto-expanded list? Sort of like...
"Mr Contact One"
\_555-555-5555 (home)
555-111-5555 (cell)
555-222-5555 (work)
