[Q] Another battery thread whith a diffrent approach.

Im starting this thread because of every battery thread I've read people NEVER seem to solve the problem unless they replace their ATRIX. Now a few questions. This is directed to any ATRIX owner in an attempt to find a solid solution.
1. Did your ATRIX only start having battery issues after upgrading to gingerbread?ATRIX or have you had issues beginning from stock froyo?
2. Has any solution suggested by anyone ever worked for you?
3. Does your ATRIX get hot and battery drains extremely fast?
4. Are you frequently connected to 4g H+?
If you answer no. To #2 and yes to #3 I suspect it may be a hardware problem...
on the battery this is what I see and find strange and this is the battery that came with the phone.
1880mah
1880/1930
Mah(min/typ)
7.0/7.1
Wh(min/typ)
Idk where to find production number so I guessed its this [GB/T 18287]
On the phone idk the specific so I took a guess too XD [SKU:65230]
if someone knows the two above please correct me but anyways I posted those because we can compare for those that have a problem and maybe pinpoint it to be a factory defect. Again I am doing this because this battery AND heating issue is aggravating and after 2 months I can't stand it anymore no fixes ever worked so help me and those with the issue out by providing information thanks.
Hello,
1-Yes
2-Not really, I have increase the battery life but not good as the stock Froyo.
3-Yes, but as I remember it get hot too on Froyo. Less or more... I don't know.
4-Always
I have buy an Andida 2200mAh battery and use it since 3 week, I will return to the stock battery tomorrow to check if there is a difference.
1- Nope, my battery has always lasted for around 8-10 hours everyday. (I play games and browse the internet everyday).
2-Never had any battery problem so....
3-Not at all. My Atrix has always been cool.
4. for about 4-5 hours a day (usually i am on wifi but wifi or not.....i have the same battery life).
It could be a ROM problem that you are having, maybe doing a clean install of a ROM could help you(do a complete wipe before installing the ROM). Are you using faux 123's kernel? It under-clocks your Atrix to as low as 216 GHz when your handset is idle but overclocks it to 1.1 GHz when it use. You could download setcpu to under-clock it for better battery saving and this will make your phone less hot.
You can and should also download a battery app from the market and see what your battery temp is like compared to other users. If it's a hardware issue indeed, you better return your Atrix and get a new one asap as it could cause you harm in the future.

That's just it with everything stock gingerbread my friends ATRIX doesn't heat up as hot and eat through batteries like a fat guy an a dozen doughnuts in one sitting. We both had stock when I tried this his phone easily outlasts mine both on 4g and a factory reset I tested this when he asked me to root his phone I was gunna kill its bat and charge it to root and install unlock etc. And to my surprise holy sh#t his battery life WAY outlasted mine, AND HIS DEVICE IS ONE.MONTH OLDER i've had this ATRIX for 2 months now so its none of whatever everyone is saying about battery caliBS its a firm suspicion on a hardware flaw, the sooner people can find it the sooner Motorola can replace defective handsets, ridiculous, two stock gingerbread motorolas with 100% stock and mine only lasts about had as
long as my friends own who gets battery results everyone brags about.
i own 3 atrixes ive had an atrix since launch day had its issues at first but one thing that was never a problem was the battery it was always amazing lasted 2 days sometimes well since the offical ota uPdate i updated only one that way its my main phone and right away i noticed the heat coming from the metal clip holding the sd card then next i noticed the batt life was losing 10 every 20 mins or so. since i have rooted it just so i could try n use tb to freeze all the bloatware and still nothing then i tryed just bout every other method on this forum so i didnt wanna lose my warrenty on that 1 so i didnt unlock it so i took my other atrix with a slightly cracked screen it was running on 4.1.26 so i rooted it unlocked it and charged too 100 then flashed to alien v3 so wen it was done it upgraded to gb and right away i noticed the heat from it just like my other one and battery life was losing 10% every 20 mins just like my other one i have also tryed everything on this forum im lost now dnt no wat to do somebody please help also as upset i am about this happing im very relieved to c im not the only person with this issue

[Q] MIUI-NB lags

Hi!
I tried to search for the solution, but didn't find one.
I've installed MIUI-NB ROM recently (unfortunately, I cannot post there, because I don't have 10 posts to post in developers' forums; if somebody can append the question to that topic, I'd appreciate).
Generally, I like this ROM very much, but today I have experienced HUGE lags when accessing the Internet via mobile data (especially noticeable on 3G). Load average jumps to 8 and more, lags are so noticeable that render the phone unusable. Did someone experience that?
Reboots do not help. Switching to WiFi cures the lags immediately, thought the load remains pretty high (about 2.5).
Did someone else experienced that and can give a bit of advice, please?
I did, I couldn't figure it out. I believe it has to do with either kernal or modem. Try miui LE 9.1 which is what I have with the kb5 modem and its super fast. I've haven't experienced any lag yet.
Sent from my T959 using xda premium
Its more likely do to the fact that he adds to much bloat and useless apps....hogging up all the ram.
I also use lithium with kb5 modem....can't beat it
Hey, i was a NB supporter, and loyal too, but it started to crash on me lately so today i went to Miui PRIME and so far.. its AMAZING no lag what so ever.
I heard Lithium was good too but i asked one guy and he said he got 8 hrs from light usage... so i was like ehhhhhhhhhhhhh
I was also on NB but it was too laggy ...so had to move on to lithium 9.1 ...which is working great
I had to go back to cm7, I started to get reboots during calls and had to take the battery out to shut it off. If i put the battery in it would fire up on its own. That was a first.
Ok here's an update I'm on LE 9 and I'm at 72% battery at 7 hours. Ill give you guys a total of hours when down to 2%.
This is with light to moderate usage, YouTube, FB, xda, web, texts and calls
Sent from my T959 using xda premium
Don't expect great battery life with any miui...I think the best I've gotten was around 12 hrs with lite use....I went and got cpu master and uv'd to 800 but im not sure it really helps but it definitely oc's very well

Battery usage isnt a huge prob for me, my problem is after a week or two ive gotta reflash the same rom, setup my apps. hate too but im thinking of flashing back to stock and running bionix. not having a stable build is getting frustrating.

How's the battery life on MIUI Prime? My phone, too, has been crashing after a day's use. I would have to restart it every 1-2 days in order for it to become responsive again. It gets annoying and I'm already contemplating on going back to 2.2 again. lol
Agreed I've been thinking the same thing.
Ok guys last update on my battery before I go to sleep. I'm at 6% battery left and it has lasted me 16 hours. I am using juice defender so that is helping. I used the phone to listen to music, FB, text, calls.
Sent from my T959 using xda premium
I was on bionix, and it was starting to drag and GPS wouldn't lock. so I wanted to try a newer ROM, just flashed MIUI-NB, but the low battery life worries me.
OK look at it this way....you know how your computer starts out really fast and all...then after awhile ....after so many downloads and websites visited it starts to slow down and then starts freezin up and all that....well that's what's happening to your phone, after all...it is a computer.
What I do is completely wipe everything including formatting system and SD and external SD...reflash your favorite rom and WHAM! Fast as hell again.
Thing to remember is all the BS you install and uninstall, isn't completely gone....its there and its hogging up your ram.
Just a hint guys... this rom your talking about is slap full of bloat alot of it is needed just to get fair results becuz of all the crap that's been done to it .
I'm back to 2.2 after almost 8 months of playing with miui and gingerbread, and I've realized something....the grass isn't greener on the other side.....especially when the proper files have not been released.
I do not mean to offend anyone...I am just posting my opinion off what I see after many many flashings.
I love miui with all the customizing that is made available with it but its just not what it could or should be and probably never will be and you can thank Samsung and T-Mobile for that.....unfortunately the vibrant is fading out as with the smartphone before it and the one before that.
One thing is for sure though.....the vibrant was the beginning of a Great Era. and that is a fact

[Q] Xperia X10i with CM7(battery problem)!

Hi guys, I am new on this forum. I have an Xperia x10i and I have a problem with it, with his battery actually. So the problem started when i have upgraded to CM7. Actually in the first couple of days I do not have any problem with it, but in one day i shut down my phone, I took the battery off( it was ~55/56%) to put my sim in other mobile, and when i put it back the battery was 1%. I did not know what to to so i charged it up. in ~50 mins he was 100% and since then my battery is 0 in ~15 hours. and i use just the msg aplication to talk with my GF. no games nothing.I.ve played a game last night and from 46% in 30mins it was 29%. i have use the wipe battery stats, clear all things, putting CM7 again on it. i use "launcher application but i do not think that this is the problem. bofore the 56%->1% case the phone last 2/3 days but now i have to charged it every night.
ps. And some of my SMS text do not deliver to the person. min it says that "msg recived" but they do not recive anyting from me...
Please can someone help me?
Should i go with the official version?
Should i try a different ROM? wich one?[pls tutorial]
it could be the sim with the SMS problem?
Sounds like its the rom to me.I had the same problem with the THGo rom, worked out it would be lucky to last 15 hours doing nothing on it.
I have tried about all the roms on here(apart from championswimmers one),and Ive formed the conclusion that the minuses cancel out the pluses.
This is why Im on a streamlined stock rom type of setup.I can understand how people want to change away from the stock stuff after using it for 2 years, but Ive not really reached that point yet.
nb. no offence to developers hard work on here
Welcome to XDA!
I had the same problem back in 1.6, was going to the airport with around 60% battery and then dropped my phone, battery fell out and when I rebooted, I had "1%" left.
Ofc I was shocked ****less (battery dropped from 60% to 1%) Soon I figured out to pull the battery out and put it back in, battery went back to normal.
Hope this helps!

Hey man, welcome to XDA! xD
Anyways on to your battery problem, as prodigy says, try taking it out and putting back in (Mite try that got few problems atm xD) anyways 2nd, try the calibration method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=943626&highlight=battery) or there is a app on Android market but am not to sure how accurate it is, 2nd are you using task killers if so get rid, they kill ur battery, i dont know your skill level so try this at ur own risk, undervolt the CPU using No Frills CPU free on market, DoomLord is the guy to ask bout UV/OV so post on his forum or Q/A also there is a video sony made about increasing battery (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjuQyFPKlb0) hope these tips help, Oh and on the text problem, are u on BB .71? you cant actually send the texts out if not.

Rom question- Really not happy with this phone.

Hey all...
Right now i'm running the ICS leak, i just bought this Razr Maxx a few days ago so i'm new to Rooting and Rom'ing scene on this model phone...
I used the Stock GB 173, also the 181 update for a whole day... it was so drastically messy i almost took the phone back to the store... it was LOADED with bloatware bull crap... and the battery life was dropping 10% every 1-2 hours. For a 3200 Mah phone that is just insane.
So i put the ICS leak on it. and well... it feels slow and studdery.. just not silky smooth or fast. Also the battery life is still REALLY bad.. and i'm running 40% screen brightness.. and ZERO widgets on my homescreen.. i'm having to use launcher pro with literally nothing on my screen and it appears to be better battery life now.
-----------------------------------
Sorry for the long opening, here's my question.. what's the BEST Rom out there? i'll even go back to GB if i have to... one that has ZERO bloatware crap on it.. and everything works? I mean.. i found a couple but then the OP's in the rom say stuff like "everything works except camera"
I want a rom that is Fast, Silky smooth, and every single STOCK feature of the phone works, Wifi/Radio Camera... etc...
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Btw why isn't there a Cyanogen build for this?

Just have a better look into the forums, then you would see that there IS a Cyanogenmod Rom for the Razr. On all custom roms the camera is working fine except the camcorder. So if you can live without recording videos, you can flash one of these roms. The best one is Black Widow ICS, very fast, stable and smooth.
By the way: In the next few days or til the end of this month, camcorder etc. will be available for every custom rom.
It's possible you have a defective phone. There is no reason that your battery should drop 10% every hour or two unless you are using it heavily.

Agreed. My Razr didn't drop nearly that fast on stock, so your Maxx should definitely not be.
Eclipse 1.3 is great for battery. It's GB-based but with the ICS look. I'm on the .75 leak now with no problems. I upgraded from GB for Chrome and Apex.
By the way, got 28 hours out of my battery yesterday before putting it on the charger just a little while ago. It was mild use (as I was asleep for about 9 hours), but that still shows something is wrong with your phone or what you're running on it.
I would also recommend a full factory reset. I usually reset right outta the box, since quality tests are run on each phone as they come off the production line.

Are you sure on the RAZR leak and not just an ICS ROM? depending on WHICH leak youre on you may NOT be able to get back.. whats your build number?
I am on one of the stuck leaks and I tell you it runs beautifully... the ICS ROMS were all jittery and all though...
So you are on a leak and are complaining? Maybe that is why it is just a leak and not the final version lol
Thanks for the advice.
I might take a look at black widow
Btw I'm on the. 84 leak I believe I used that method where the Guy made that automated process to do it.

@dhacker29 on twitter is working on CM9 and AOKP ports for the leaks... almost ready from what I understand... once ICS OTA is out we should hopefully get back into upgrade path with new set of fast boot files...

A couple tweets from dhacker on twitter:
"Uh yup CM9 coming to all versions of the RAZR ICS leaks soon."
"Um yeah I am watching netflix in CM9 on my RAZR "
"Working on camera and a few other things"
"close" (when asked if CM9 or AOKP was finished)
So there ya go, straight from DHacker himself.

I am running Eclispe 1.3 with Juice Defender and Lux.
Battery life if just amazing, I do not remember such numbers recently. I am getting 10-15% battery drain per DAY.
Hey everyone =)
After a couple of tweaks and realizing how AMAZING "smart actions" are.. my battery life is massive now..
I saw "Smart actions" pop up when i first started using the phone and it intimated me at first b/c frankly... i took almost ALL the apps on here with a grain of salt i feel like they are just more bloatware.. so i didn't even give it a chance.
I started using the "battery saver" Smart action, and wow... my b life is freaking amazing now.
What are the settings that u r using for smart actions.
Sorry to hear your experience.
I can't comment on the romming part because I don't use my Razr Maxx for roms, that is my GNex's job. but for battery, yours seems abnormal.
If you factory reset and it still drops battery damn fast, need replace.

Galaxy S II too hot

Hey guys!
I know some thread has been created about the hot Galaxy S II issues, but I have a different experience.
The first time I flashed my phone to ICS, my phone was really hot, and that was really unusual when I used GB before. I was sick of my battery was draining, and my phone was hot, I switched back to GB Checkrom, and guess what? The phone was still hot.
First I thought I could be the rom, but I tried different kernel to see how it is going on when I had ICS, thereafter I switched back to Checkrom GB, and I used NEAK kernel, which I had good experiement, but my phone was still to damn hot, and I reflashed second try, which was Siyah Kernel. Still to hot, now I'm using SLIM ICS, and my phone is hot! What is going on??? Have I been flashing to much, and damaged my hardware or something?
When I'm taking a phone call, or browsing a bit on the net, or even listening to music, charging or standby, still too hot! Any ideas how to reduce the temperature of my phone?
Thanks!
Did you allow the phone to have a few complete battery recharging cycles after each time you flashed another rom? Mine gets hotter right after a new Rom is flashed, after few cycles goes back to normal.

1: hope you wiped when you went from GB to ICS and again when ICS to GB
2: change your modem, or better do a full wipe and flash a stock GB ROM.

Yup I was like u asking questions here about HEATING effect of SGS2.. But let me explain u wy i got back... When I bought my phone last month 13th I couldn tolerate unrooted phone.. So rooted and installed a custom ROM... U wont believe me while calling i couldnt hold it on EAR! It was that hot... Even if my young bro plays a game or watches a movie it used to get burn like hell..
1. I tried Siyah Kernel My phone was HOT!!(NO hard feelings for Siyah )
2. I tried Fluxi Kernel viola heating effect gone!! But still the phone used to heat up after 20 minutes of continous usage. I mean heavy usage like 3G...
3. Finally tried KI4 modem now the real action started no heat even after heavy usage!!
Dont know whether these things might work on ur phone(In theory must work ) But keep trying different kernel and modems till u come to know this heat is tolearable before that
