So I have this problem I think many of you have had before.. I put SetCPU at 768mhz out of curiosity and voila it doesnt work. Is there any trick that I could pull to modify the value back to 710 (or default) without doing a full wipe ?
Help much appreciated.
Ps. I need my cell in about 1.5 hours.. :S
problem solved:
I installed a different kernel with default clocks ftw
Hi everyone, i've been using DJ_Steve 1.9.1 before and after i changed my internal memory card to a Class 10. Everything works great before i changed the memory, no random reboots, no hangs. But now after i replaced the memory, it's just sometimes (not all the time), my streak won't wake after the screen timeout. So when i press the power button to wake my streak, the screen would just still dead. No response. Press it multiple times still no response. Long-pressing the power button also doesn't restart the device (usually it is). And the solution i have so far is pull the battery and turn it on again.
I have tried to flash my rom and recovery back to stock 360 and no same problem, everything just fine, so i think this is not a hardware failure, thats why i'm sure i won't have the sleep problem again after i flash back again to 1.9.1. But after a factory reset and a bit of restoring apps, i left my streak and there we go again. It won't wake anymore..
If maybe anybody here have a solution or some mind on it, you're greatly appreciated!

I have read many posts recommending to install SetCPU (free if you search for it on XDA) and set the minimum speed to one setting higher than the default. Try it and post your results for others.

I do install a SetCPU already, and let the Scaling goes default with "smartass" from 1.9.1.
Currently the minimum speed is set 245760. And now I'm setting it to one-step higher which is 576000 and will see how it will work over the time.
Really thank you for this useful information, hope this will solve my "sleep" problem
Unfortunately, just now, my Streak is not responding to the power button while it's asleep with the setting of SetCPU to minimum speed of 576000 with Smartass Governer.
One thing I realized, the CPU Master Free which pre-installed with 1.9.1 is FC everytime I try to open it. Does this have something to do with my Streak not waking up?

Hmmm, if it's FC then why DJ Steve include it in his ROM? >.<
Finally I uninstalled my SetCPU, and let's see if it solve my problem or not... *fingercrossed*
When there is setCpu installed with smartass governer and min speed of 576mhz, my streak randomly 'dead' when it's asleep.
Yesterday, i uninstalled setCpu, my Streak still 'dead'..
Out of my curiousity, tried to update the FC Cpu Master Free to last 1.9 edition from Market and it's working now. And now i'm trying my luck with the Cpu Master Free. If this time my Streak still 'dead', i really dont know what to do @[email protected]

Does two similar cpu frrequency changer conflict and result in reboot?? Cause recently I used 2 apps setcpu and cpu control lite and witnessed 3 reboots back to back.

I use a value of 748 in SetCPU it works fine, if I put more, I get a reboot.
red led flashed
I mistakenly pulled the trigger and overclocked to 825 MHz I got freeze nothing working on phone. Then I reflashed rom with hot reboot......Was this necessary or was there another way out..????
Just a question, i am using the Phenomenal kernel (normal version) on my S3 and has tried to set the CPU speed using "setcpu" app to have the CPU running at 800-400Mhz, but no matter how many times i set or clear the data and reset, the CPU will still go to 1Ghz, is this a default setting by Samsung to have the setting set at least 1Ghz or is due to the Kernel that i am using now?

phenomenal kernel dosent supports OV/UV, that might be the reason. try nstools from market if you get the same result then its the feature of that kernel
Thanks... have tried it and still stay the same... guess its the kernel...
Just wondered if anyone can help me with this.
If I have an app open, ie messages and the screen times out, the phone locks and I have to take out the battery to reset. This dones not happen if I am on the home screen though.
I have root and I'm running Foxhound 2.7 I have also tried different ROMs and the same thing happens. I have done a megawipe are reinstalled several times.
Any idea what is going on?

try changing the kernel.
Governor Setting
1-) Which governor are you using. I got similar problems with "zzmove battery" governor.
2-) If you are using undervolt (UV) values dont make any change for 200mHz step. (or using standar -50mV, -75mV UV options try lower values)
Now using Googy Max Kernel and pegasusq governor and got no problem again.

Not undervolting but I'll give that kernel a try as I am using zzmoove at the moment with Boeffla.
Thanks
