[Q] Need a little help with CWM - G Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

OK i followed all the directions to a 2. I rooted many devices to know to do this and made sure i understand what i am doing before i did anything. Now my problem is this and i have searched many threads and many things but to no avail.
I went to flash CWM as per the instructions and now i cant get into recovery at all. When i try it just shows the boot screen saying it is going to go in to recovery and just sits there. If i missed a post on how to fix this i am very sorry for making this post. But i have tried to use nvflash to recover from this and it does nothing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and TIA.

I am sorry, I beg to differ. You clearly did not follow Rule #1 - POST IN THE CORRECT THREAD. In fact, here's a nice sticky at the TOP of the Development section entitled:
Thread DELETED/Locked??? >>>> This is DEVELOPMENT section not Q&A/General!!!! <<<<
and another one RIGHT below it:
[READ] Please Post In The Correct Section!
This thread is closed and moved to the correct section, also known as the Q&A Section!!!!

I messed up, PLEASE HELP!

Hi guys, I was trying to flash Jt's vanilla AOSP, and didn't realize I somehow got orange clockwork, so I wiped my data, noticed I was in orange, and didn't want to mess anything up so I rebooted, but... the phone would not start up. So I decided, genious that I am, to reboot into recovery once again, and I wiped the data again, and decided to just try to install the rom. To no avail, I cannot install any of my .zip roms with this orange clockwork, please, help!
Flash the CWM-all from GizmoDroid's post using Odin.

In the OP's defense.... He did get the right thread with a legit question.
Not saying you shouldn't search but +1 for people who understand simple guidelines.
I feel like an idiot. I searched before and thought I found nothing... just searched again and found the answer in like a minute flat. Thank you. I'm sorry.

Installing Clockwork mod on Note?

Im trying to load Clockwork Mod so I can create a Nandroid Backup. When I go to flash Clockwork Recovery it gives a list of phones but mine is not there. Can anyone tell me what one is being used?

you shouldn't be posting this in the development forum, that's why we have a Q&A section, it says right at the top of the main page that others will be closed, or else.
I sincerely apologize. Do I need a moderator to move this to the Q&A? I dont want to double post.
I'm not trying to be rude or make you feel dumb, but in the future, please do a search before you post. The ClockworkMod recovery thread has been on the first page for the last few days, it was literally on your screen when you clicked "New Thread".

You can't install it through Rom Manager, you have to do it manually in ODIN, instructions are in that thread.

computer will not recognize device when connected.
tried using the auto boot unlock from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1182871 no luck
if this is a hard brick i'll cut my losses, but from what everyone has posted as long as you have the menu it is fixable.
please, i dont want insults, i did my research, i have read hundreds of pages, just cant find any definite answers.

First thing that popped into my mind.
But here you can see, that you clearly hard bricked your phone...
Stupid question but its worth checking; do you have the newest usb drivers installed on your computer? I had this same screen come up when unlocking my bootloader the other day but upon booting into fastboot like the program says it was fixed.
I am not sure if this thread will be of help, I quickly glanced through it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1165154

the version was 2.3.6 i did a quick search for atrix root and found this http://www.androidauthority.com/atrix-4g-android-2-3-6-firmware-4-5-141-root-63533/
followed the directions and tada, brick.... i knew i should have come to xda, but when i searched the forum there was just so much, one post sid to do this, the next one said that was wrong, then most of the links for downloading the rooting files were no longer working.
in short, i was being impatient, the phone has been acting really wierd, i got the phone from a friend, only had it for 2 days.
So you haven´t flashed any sbf via RSD yet? (NOT RECOMMENDED)
Please try the steps described in the link we gave you - if you manage to access rsd or fastboot again, you could save the device
Edit:
The device still has a locked bootloader?

Travis, not to sound rude, but did you read my first post? i have been reading and trying different things for over 5 hours now and nothing yet has worked. that is why i created a new topic.
i apologize if i posted this topic in the wrong place, there were other topics relating to similar things.
First, questions go in Q&A. Second, don't pay attention to Travis - not worth your time.
Third, you are probably SOL (hard bricked). Not much hope if the automated method didn't work. You can look here to see if anything helps. Good luck!
what i would personally do is download the full SBF pudding file that corresponds to your phone type, and flash it. not the unlocker file, the full .sbf that includes all the firmware and everything.
after that, do a fastboot OEM unlock command
if that doesn't solve your problem, then it's a hard brick.
are you on at&t

[Solved] No recovery after flashing JB to unlocked TF201

Hi!
I have flashed JB according to this Topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1911024 on my unlocked TF201 wich already was prepared with NVFlash. Everything seems to be fine and JB runs rather good. The problem is that I cannot access Recovery anymore. I had CWM installed and when I tried to boot into it I always got the red Andy. I tried to flash CWM and TWRP with several methods but with no success. Now it always stops at "Booting to recovery"note after selecting RCK. JB itself still runs well.
Anyone can tell me how I can regain access to CWM or TWRP?
Thanks
Gr0mit
me either ,, tried everything to get one on my prime too . not even fastboot method adds it . stuck now with no root or anything

I guess I'm #3 here. I've tried doing stock recovery no dice. However the JB rom I installed is working fine (full stock dedoxed from devel thread)
However I really wanna get some wookie on here
How to do it is on one of these threads if people like you would llook on the forum instead of posting and spamming the boards. We would not have all these problems. Go look through all the thread about this subject and you will find it. :cyclops:. Sorry for being rude I so tired of looking through all the threads on this subject when i know only one thread actually has the answer
If you have nvflash try this:
Enter APX mode [Power + Vol-Up]
wheelie --blob blob.bin
nvflash -r --download 5 recovery.img
nvflash -r --go
You need flash only recovery for JB.

I've spent several days going through posts and trying different "howto" instructions with no luck. My prime is running the first stock rooted JB I grabbed from here. Glad you're having better luck than we are. I went from the androwookie JB (non-tf201 rom) to the stock tf201 rooted rom and now I can't get a recovery back on. The rom still boots just can't get another rom on at the moment. If you were sorry for being rude you wouldn't have been rude in the first place lol.
Hi,
Now I found a solution with the Fresh Root script from this post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1929189
It gave me TWRP and JB is still running! PERFECT! :good:

YP-G1 Black Screen Brick (((((HELP!!!!)))))

I was trying to return to stock using Heimdall. It failed for some reason. Whenever I have tried to use it it always says it failed but this time it went further then usual but the end result was a fail. I think it just repartitioned but I'm not sure. Anyways the only thing it would do is boot into cwm and download mode. So I restored a backup a previously made. Same thing it only booted into download mode and cwm. So I went and tried to flash through odin. Everything worked fine and still the same thing. So then I followed the unbrick thread on XDA and flashed the file and everything finished and said successful but my device would not boot up at all. Doing a little more research it seems that the unbrick method was for 5.0 devices only which I don't know why it isn't placed in plain sight for everyone to see but anyways now I have a dead device. Has anyone had any success with fixing this problem?

Ok so:
1. This isn't even talking about development so why are you putting it into dev section?
2. Have you tried a jig to get you back into download mode?

Wrong attitude, man. XDA is a free service and you are soliciting unpaid help. Follow the forum rules.
Most, if not all, of our Galaxy Player forum developers and contributors pay attention to all threads and you will get an answer from someone who knows.
If not, look in the development forum and find a developer and send a PM.
Don't clutter the wrong forum with your pleas for help, acting like you're the only one with that problem.

And you expect really having an answer here? You are serious right? Please tell me 1 recent thread on general that haven't been replied and then we can see if we never replies. Geez people are never grateful from what I see...
You guys are getting upset for the wrong reason. I have no attitudes and I'm just looking for help. I tried the other forum and didn't get any reply so I moved it to this forum and I am seeing some activity. I didn't know it was a crime. I was asked a question and an answer was given. Don't mistake a straight forward answer for an attitude. Thanks for your input. Now is there a solution for my problem? The SGP is my little nephews and I experimented with it and messed it up. All I want is a point in the right direction.
It might be a kernal issue. Try flashing a kernal for the 4 and see if that works.

Alright, let's all take a deep breath and chill. We empathize with you, dude, we really do.
We need to address another XDA rule that you overlooked. (Understandably. No biggie. Not calling you out, just saying.)
When you post on XDA, you need to be as thorough about your problem as possible, so we don't clutter the thread with Q&A.
1. Symptoms of the problem: What works and doesn't?
2. Any reactions to button presses? Lights? Screen? Sound?
3. Any evidence that it's booting?
4. Does your computer register that it's being plugged in?
That'll help you get started. List anything else that might be noteworthy. Someone will help you.
Also, nightfire brings up a good point. Try flashing the stock kernel for your device via ODIN.
EDIT:
What procedure did you go through when you were following the (wrong) un-brick instructions? Because, if your device is totally unresponsive, you've probably got yourself a Galaxy Paper Weight. If it's not something as dire as that, there may still be hope.
Did you attempt to flash a 5.0 bootloader on a 4.0? A wrong kernel flash wouldn't screw up your device as badly as that. You may need to re-partition some things (/efs and PIT, perhaps) and re-flash stock ROM.
But, please, work with us here and be specific about exactly what you did that led up to the current.
Screen doesn't turn on at all and odin doesn't recognize it.
I used this method....."[10/13]Brick Station! Here to solve your brickable needs! BOOTLOADERS AVAILABLE!!!". I'm not even sure anymore why I felt I needed to use that method but before I followed those steps my SGP would only go into download mode and CWM. I flashed roms and kernels using odin and it said pass...reset. I even restored an old backup but no matter what I did it always rebooted back into CWM. I followed the brick station steps but not the un-resurrectable part because my problem wasn't that extreme but after following through with those steps I now have a device that requires the un-resurrectable method but now I know that it's only for the 5.0. When I connect my device to my laptop it makes a sound like there is some life but nothing pops up...turns on or flashes. I even used a usb jig to try and get it to download mode but nothing at all.
Thank you guys for the help.

Have you tried this ?http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1531850. So what I gather is you can get to the download mode. If you can then you can fix it. The link I posted here is a good place to get everything you need. Use Hemidall method this was the only way to fix it. I had no luck with Odin. If your PC is not seeing your player go into device manager and remove everything under universal USB. after that click on the action menu and scan for new hardware. It will reinstall the usb stuff. reboot PC. Then get the samsung USB drivers install them. Next if you correctly installed hemidall it should work and see your deivice. Read the info ib this link carefully pick the right player. Down load the PIT file for your player. Then in hemidall install the partitions in the correct order as in the instruction. Let me know if this helps or if I can help you more

No progress with getting my SGP working. I don't think I'm explaining my problem correctly because people are telling me to follow the steps that got me to this point lol but all the help is appreciated.
If you press and hold POWER + VOLUME DOWN for about 10 ~ 15 seconds, do you see a screen with a yellow construction-like sign appear? If so, you are in download mode, and that is a good thing. Try it and let me know.
Nope nothing turns on at all. I dont think its a complete brick yet because i get a beep sound from the computer when i connect it but no signs of life on the device.
