Im trying to load Clockwork Mod so I can create a Nandroid Backup. When I go to flash Clockwork Recovery it gives a list of phones but mine is not there. Can anyone tell me what one is being used?

you shouldn't be posting this in the development forum, that's why we have a Q&A section, it says right at the top of the main page that others will be closed, or else.
I sincerely apologize. Do I need a moderator to move this to the Q&A? I dont want to double post.
I'm not trying to be rude or make you feel dumb, but in the future, please do a search before you post. The ClockworkMod recovery thread has been on the first page for the last few days, it was literally on your screen when you clicked "New Thread".

You can't install it through Rom Manager, you have to do it manually in ODIN, instructions are in that thread.

OK i followed all the directions to a 2. I rooted many devices to know to do this and made sure i understand what i am doing before i did anything. Now my problem is this and i have searched many threads and many things but to no avail.
I went to flash CWM as per the instructions and now i cant get into recovery at all. When i try it just shows the boot screen saying it is going to go in to recovery and just sits there. If i missed a post on how to fix this i am very sorry for making this post. But i have tried to use nvflash to recover from this and it does nothing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and TIA.

I am sorry, I beg to differ. You clearly did not follow Rule #1 - POST IN THE CORRECT THREAD. In fact, here's a nice sticky at the TOP of the Development section entitled:
Thread DELETED/Locked??? >>>> This is DEVELOPMENT section not Q&A/General!!!! <<<<
and another one RIGHT below it:
[READ] Please Post In The Correct Section!
This thread is closed and moved to the correct section, also known as the Q&A Section!!!!
I'm rather new to the whole rooting and custom roms so please excuse my stupidity.
Recently I have finally figured out how to root my Samsung Fascinate. I have downloaded the ROM Manager app from the Market, clicked Flashed ClockworkMod Recovery and set it to the Samsung Fascinate. Next, I clicked Reboot into Recovery and I get to the android system <3e> recovery screen instead of the green ClockworkMod recovery screen. Can you help with and tell me if I did something wrong?
I've read around and I've seen that <3e> is not okay and that I need <2e>. Something like that. I want to put miui on my phone.
If you can help please leave a post. c:

Hi,
I accidentally flashed the wrong clockworkmod onto my phone (brushed the wrong phone type). I'm still in the booted up phone and am afraid to reboot it. What's the best way to fix this screwup? Ideally, i'd like to either flash stock recovery without undoing phone settings or install the proper clockworkmod recovery, which I can't find on the phone list. Here are my phone specs:
I'm on android 2.3.6 kernel 2.6.35.11, build GINGERBREAD.UCLA1.
Thanks!
Battery pull, go back to download mode, flash the correct CWM. The new/correct one should overwrite the old/incorrect one.

Noticed the "CWM" thread above. Downloaded the ZIP file and installed with Odin. How would I verify that I now have the correct one installed?
Yes Flash with Odin. I am using Beta3 and all seems well with it. No FC's as of yet.

Can you tell me where to find the right one? There doesn't seem to be much on CWM for the Note on here. Would I just flash with Odin?

I DID flash the recovery-i717-cwm-b3.tar file. The I tried to execute a backup from the app - it was so fast, i could tell it didn't work. I rebooted the phone and used the menu system in recovery mode to do the backup. I also noticed that the recovery "menu" was much shorter than the one in my Skyrocket. Is this CWM ROM just far enough along in development to work properly with the app? If this is the case, what functionality should I avoid using in the app?
John
Most if not all of the functions work great so far. No FC here. Remember, Its still in beta stages but its coming along.
-On another NOTE, Samsung goes 5.3"
Wrong CWM recovery on LG Vortex
I used ROM Manager and flashed CWM Recovery 5.0.2.7 to my Vortex running 2.2.1....now I am stuck in recovery after attempting to flash CM7, but the Home button (or any other button) will not work to select the highlighted option. I am doing research to see if I can find some kind of option to fix my mess up but it is not looking good. I had to take out the battery, hold volume up and power and home while i plugged in the charger just to get into recovery because i was stuck on the splash screen. If anyone can provide assistance on this I would be very appreciative.

I am not sure hat it is appropriate to pedal your wares here.
this is a free and open source community. I will not follow your link, so I am not sure whether you are charging for your services or not. but soliciting your products here I think is against the forum rules.
I will look for a moderator to address this issue in a more official manner. if I am wrong I apologize, but that is how I interpret your post

The thread topic looks as though it is related to my situation as I, as well, flashed the wrong recovery, I guess I was confused. I apologize. You being a senior member, I would expect that you could direct me, as I am a junior member. I was unable to find my device in the forums, so I could not find a better place to post, but I will take it elsewhere.

due to many different variances and carriers of this device, it is just a bad habit to get into o follow threads for a wrong device. even flashing files from different variances can be catastrophic.
may I ask or suggest maybe there are multiple carriers for your device and simply have a different model# ? that would at least get you closer to the center of the dart board.
although XDA is high on my list as far as trusted developmental websites, there are several other forum communities. maybe you could run a search for that if you haven't?
I will help if I can and plenty others will. again, even though problem may be similar, the solution may not and I am sure you know these device aren't cheap. I would hate for you to take your phone o beyond repair.
good luck my friend

Thank you. I also have XDA very high on my list of trusted websites, which is why I come directly here to do any Android related research. This situation that I find myself in right now is the result of an easily overlooked detail.

I see you also posted this question in the Moto G section. There you mention your phone still works. If so install this.

yeah i have downloaded it.
Now what.
I can't make out what to do in that.
When i select list of devices, my device is not there
when iselect last option 'device not listed above' it asks 'xt1033 is not supported, have you installed a clockworkmod based recovery manually?'
if i select no- its says 'sorry until xt1033 is supported..............'
yes and select the one - 'rom manager has been set up to use your existing recovery installation.'
Hey Guys,
Sorry for this, I searched around and nothing seems to work for me at the moment. I'm trying to flash a new Kernel, (Funkybean 2.4) but I can't seem to get it right. I saw a few post on here and tried to follow the directions but hBoot or recovery can't seem to get it. It has something to do with the script missing so it says. Can anyone recommend a way to do this on phone. I'm on a mac so I don't have access to the toolkit.
This is the main thread I was reading. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=20828158&postcount=55

Flash it, let it do the rest, no wipes. Make sure you are on the latest TWRP or Amon RA. If TWRP, you will need to manually reboot to bootloader.
PS: You shouldve posted this in the Q & A subforum or my thread.
Thanks, sorry about that

If your computer can recognize it, run the RUU from the HTC site, there are plenty of threads on it, I think you should be okay. Other than that without a nandroid, not sure what else you can do.
Added link for "how to create nandroid" for next time: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27546729

Heyo, good luck with your phone! It's not bricked, just flash the RUU and you'll be good to go. But, remember this is the Development section, so before someone else lays into you for it, remember questions go in the Q/A section. Good luck!
Always make a back up bro, rule of thumb

wrong section. but try to get twrp flashed on it and see if it flashes. Always keep a backup incase something like this or at least another rom to flash
