[unlock] Any feedback on omnius ? - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello !
I'm looking for a way to unlock my SE X10i. Apparently, there is no way to do it for free.
I've found, on some forum, people who recommend Omnius. It would cost 17euros to unlock the phone with this software.
Is there someone here who have already tried it ? Does it works ?
Thanks for your feedbacks!

perhaps it would help!

Finally, my phone was already unlock !!
Weird, because french phones are usually locked and you have to ask your provider the code to unlock it (free of charge after 6 months of use).
Fortunately, I tried before test Omnius. I keep the thread open, in case someone tried Omnius and can give some feedbacks.

Remember this requires firmware 2.1 and you will not be able to use any other firmware.

It is not true.
Omnius unlock = permanent unlock.
Once you unlock the phone using Omnius you can upgrade the firmware and the phone remains unlocked. Tested OK.

[Q] X10MiniPro: no life sign with Cm7.1.0 FXP028, but other kernels flashing OK

I have a X10minipro (U20a) with the M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015 baseband, latest (2.1.1.A.0.6) firmware - just updated/repaired using PC Companion.
I just tried to flash Cm7.1.0 RC1 FXP028's kernel in this phone (first step of the install guide, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1212949), but it won't boot. It doesn't even display any logo at all (no FXP logo, nor Sony Ericsson logo). After pressing the power button, I can feel the usual little vibration it makes when powering up. After that, the phone gives no other life sign - the screen just keeps black forever.
I'm not sure, but when the usb cable is connected, it appears that the phone enters into some sort of loop in and out of flash mode. The green LED blinks shortly and I can see the usb device being detected as the flash mode device (eg. on lsusb) for a short period of time. And I haven't pressed the back button at all.
Of course, flashing back the stock kernel unbricks the phone.
The bootloader was unlocked using msm7227_semc. Just to be sure it was unlocked correctly, I flashed D4Kernel v1.2 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254202), and it worked like a charm. So the bootloader appears to be working well.
Does anybody have an idea of what is going on? Maybe I was expected to flash another version of the baseband?
If you got FXP kernel to work in your phone, please tell me if you can see any difference between your phone and mine (versions, etc.)
I found it strange that U20_CUSTOM.ftf, when opened using flashtool, shows "E10" in the column "Device". But perhaps this is just a typo.

The kernel that comes with CM 7.1 is broken, you need to use a older version of FXP, there's one in the mini pro dev and flash the just the kernel but I can't find the kernel any were for the mini pro, the mirrors come up as X8. I've been told that it still has bugs.

As danlivesey said, the custom kernel from FXP is broken. When I posted this, nobody had complained yet (people complained only when they released FXP030), so I thought I was doing something wrong.
To reflash the stock kernel, download "X10 mini pro (U20) stock kernel" from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254225
Then use flashtool to flash the ftf file. You should be able to put your phone in flash mode. If your are not able, probably it is stuck frozen trying to boot, then just remove the battery and insert it again and follow the procedure again (keeping the back button pressed and inserting the USB cable).

By holding back button you go in flash mode!
For fastboot mode, on swiched off phone, you must hold down menu button and plug in USB cable!
Phone turned off, battery in -> Press and HOLD MENU BUTTON -> Attach Usb CABLE = Battery Charging with green led
wait, you say your phone is OrangePL branded. is it locked on your network? meaning you can't use any SIM card?
Yes, I can't use any other sim card except Orange's one

There's your problem. Your fastboot is locked. Branded phones have fastboot locked.
You will need to pay to unlock fastboot. Find someone who have setool box.
You phone has a firmware .42, why you need fastboot? Yust root by doomlord and install CWM recovery!
Cos I wanted to install custom ICS kernel + ICS AOSP
Now I have the same problem :S after flashing jj's hybrid rom tho my fastboot was working fine before need to solve this...and my neo went to fastboot from holding down the back button before this happened.
Ok I solved my problem now my neo goes in to fastboot from the menu button...strange cuz it used to go into fastboot from the back button b4
I think ur phone not already boot loader unlock. U should first download and install with fastboot with Android USB file.rar.
Code:
http://www.mediafire.com/?h4sf10doc6zgu7h
And then, u should need to do boot loader unlock.
Check This Link :
Code:
http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
And then, u should do ur phone to root.
Check This Link:
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1431033
After that u can install custom rom and kernel what u want.
Enjoy.

No!
Fastboot can be entered without unlocking bootloader.
People, before giving advices, inform yourself first, about differences between locked/unlocked fastboot and locked/unlocked bootloader.
@karthicvkn:looks like you are new to all this stuff, so I suggest you go and read few sticky threads, also there are few good sticky threads in xperia Arc section, check them.

I m new on xda.I like various roms but not able to determine whether my phone is locked or unlocked bootloader
well thats pretty simple,
theres software called 'S1Tool' wich you start
press identify
then it will tell you to turn of phone, disconnect, plug in phone while holding back button (like flashing)
an there you'l be able to see if its unlocked or still locked.
another thing i see alot is . IF YOU DID NOT UNLOCK IT its locked!
heres my S1tool line telling me i unlocked it

Do you mean to say you lost your network when you unlocked the bootloader?
That means your simlock-certificate wasn't compatible with the unlock-procedure, which you get warned against if you read it all properly.
Use SUS (SEUS) to repair your phone., and then use S1Tool (NOT flashtool) to restore your bootloader, by pressing the RESTORE-button.
Step 1: leave your phone disconnected from the computer
Step 2: choose 'update' in SEUS, it will say 'no updates available'
Step 3: choose the 'repair' link, it will let you select your phone-model and download the firmware
Step 4: when it asks for flashmode, connect your usb-cable to the phone and your computer, and then press home- and power-buttons at the same time.
Step 5: Start S1Tool and press Restore button, follow the instructions
Hope your signal will come back, there is no guarantee.

It kind of depends on how your phone was sim-unlocked i suppose, and it's not that unlocking restores your simlock, it just disables the radio-capabilities, no matter which sim you put in.
If you tried the manual bootloader-unlock method, there are a few options you can use, maybe the other one may give you success.
Just boot up your phone after the unlocking process and check the network before you do anything else, like flashing kernels and stuff.
And entering flashmode had never been a problem for me, not on JB and not on stock. It's usually a case of just turning your phone off and only putting it in flashmode (ie, press the backbutton and plug in the cable) when the program (Flashtool or SEUS or PC Companion) asks for it.
If you try to put it in flashmode before the program is ready it will boot up.

i have still the same problem. if i put the battery out and wait 10 secs put it back in the cell boots right away. even when i press the home and power button while i am quickly putting the usb cable in. i hardly can't connect my cell to pc in flashmode. when i am pressing the back button like sony updater tells me the same thing happens. as long as i press a key nothing happens doesn't matter how long i press it.
when i release it, the phone boots normally jb.
ok, i booted up cm while having phone plugged in. removed battery and put it right back in. right in this moment the led turned green and i hopefully gained into flashmode!
so i gained network back thanks for your help!
i performed all the steps again to unlock my bootloader and had success. i recognized that i run the wrong msm7227_semc.cmd .
thread can be closed. and again thanks for your help! :victory:

using Titanium accidentally deleted com.android.settings on a WT19i

S1 Boot version: 1241-3656 R9A029
Rooting status: Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes
I can connect to it via adb but I cannot get fastboot to reply even though the label under the battery says 11W42. My device is running stock rom android 2.3.4
When I press menu after it is switched off and connect my WT19i via a usb cable to my pc and then type
fastboot devices
I get nothing coming back.
Any ideas?
If it is booted then via a usb cable I can connect to it and do adb shell. Then I can also do su.
I do not know how to restore com.android.settings and I do not know how to unlock the bootloader since fastboot does not respond. Can anyone guide me?
Is there any way of getting the bootloader working via adb?
Then I could probably flash anew Rom.

I managed to repair the phone. By downloading "Sony PC Companion" and then asking it to reinstall the phone's software. The phone was flashed automatically with stock Android 2.3.4 , Now it all works again.

I am unable to install the fastboot drivers on my Window7!
But ADB drivers worked.
