My Atrix will not boot into Android Recovery mode. It says "Entering into Android Recovery..." then gives me the Android with the caution sign. I rooted my device, then used ROM manager about a week ago to flash CWM. I then unlocked the bootloader, which reset my phone's data. Before I unlocked the bootloader I had the same problem, and figured the bootloader wass the problem. ow that it's unlocked I still can't boot into it. I'm running 2.3.4 on the device, the stock model.

Flash CWM from rom manager again. That's what I had to do.

When I unlocked my bootloader it wiped everything, including Superuser. I'm assuming I have to reroot it to flash it successfully?

I say yes. You have to be rooted to use rom manager anyway..

You have to unlock the bootloader before flashing a custom recovery. I did exactly what you are asking and got the yellow triangle warning. I had to install a stock image to clear it out.
Using the unlock method by Adam Outler TWRP recovery is installed.

Once you use Adams method in unlocking the bootloader you should still have your stock rooted rom. If you don't like twrp as you're recovery just download rom manager and you can flash cwmr from there.

Hi, i need help!!
Do i need unlocked bootloader to install CWM?
Try to install CWM via stock recovery, and it stops this image http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...0&postcount=65
can you tell what should i do?
Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2001655 everything you need is laid out for you. Two recoveries to choose from after FreeGee, CWM or TWRP.
Support the dev and buy, it makes everyone happy and it's a simple process. I'm going to trust that you're rooted already.

There is a guide stickied in general. This phone is locked, you can't just flash things out of the box.

Thx, of course i've read all manuals, but there is not saying that i need unlock to flash CWM. Thought there is the way to flash CWM without unlocking.
I initially got the TWRP after i unlocked but I cannot get back now that I have a rom to flash. also I can get to odin mode but i can't do anything from there. did I miss a step or??? if not how do I do this?
Download an app called quick reboot from the market. Allow root to accept and then reboot to recovery
Lemme know how it works out

Thank you that did work.
For future reference you can hold volume up+home button+power to get to recovery too.

rooted but no TWRP
Hello friends,
I am a noob and this is the first phone i have ever attempted to root. I followed the instructions to root explicitly and watched driodmodderx's video . My note 2 ended up rooting but it did not go into TWRP recovery menu, it went into the stock recovery. What did i do wrong and what can I do now to fix this. I really want to flash the jellybeans rom.
Thanks,
Cory

You must have only rooted. You must unlock the bootloader to install ROMs. Go here

GooManager also allows you to update TWRP and reboot into recovery.

Yes it does and very easy. But to the guy with stock recovery please re unlock boot loader before trying goo manager. It will put twrp on your phone but with a locked boot loader you will get the unauthorized software soft brick.

Hello,
I was attempting to install Meanbeam.
Evo -LTE of course. I did the back up and the factor wipe then in TWRP, choice install and selected the rom from the sd card. The problem is that it has be "installing" now for about an hour and a half. It appears to be froze.
The last two lines are installing update... and formatting and mounting partition...
S- on. I was attempting to following Mikeys directions for S on phones.
At this point is there anything I can do or just let the phone sit longer?
Thanks
Edit. I was able to get it to abort. (somehow, I am not entirely sure) haha
Were you able to get your issue resolved?

If your device is not in an S-Off state, I believe you'll have to flash the MeanBean boot.img booter via the fastboot command. This is what I had to do after achieving an unlocked bootloader and installing a custom recovery, such as TWRP or ClockworkMOD.

MeanBean has a kernel installer built in to facilitate ROM flashing when S-on. You have to flash the ROM zip twice, once to flash the ROM, then again to flash the kernel (boot.img).

Thanks Guys.
I was able to get it to cancel out of the stuck install screen, I am not exactly sure what I pushed to get it to that, but.
I had an older version of TWRP.
I rooted a while ago and was just getting around to flashing a new rom.
Once i upgraded to the new TWRP the install went perfectly.
Hi im hoping someone can help me.
I rooted my phone using the easy root method, I had philz dual recovery and flashed a rom. I installed superSU from the play store (when I should have flashed it) and now I can't access my recovery. I've tried rerooting and reflashing using all three methods for installing the recovery and none are working. Does anyone have a solution to this, I've got a backup of my stock rom etc. but I cant access it or recover it without a recovery. Im pretty much lost on this, I posted in the recovery thread but it didnt get answered.

When you flash a rom when using a recovery for locked bootloaders then it deletes the recovery
You have to reinstall your recovery

Thanks for the reply. I've tried doing that but it won't work, I dont know if it has something with Superuser? it says it cant update the binaries. Either way I've tried all 3 options on the process to install the recover (install with SuperSU, Install with SuperUser and install on unrooted rom)

I've tried but I didnt work I have firmware 17.1.1.A.0.402 I dont know if thats the problem. I dont know if im actually rooted, I can grant apps superuser access but i downloaded a rootchecker and it says I'm not. When I try to root using doomlords its fine until the service menu bit, the screen doesnt blink and put me back to the menu it just lets me into the screen I pressed.

heres the link for NUTs download page, http://nut.xperia-files.com/ file your looking for is
Z2-lockeddualrecovery2.7.129-BETA.installer.zip (10.59MB)
this appears to be the latest version and is 17th link from the bottom of the right hand list
the flashable zip is just left of the installer
It should mean if u install a new rom and lose recovery just run the installer from windows and it should give u back recovery

Thanks, unfortunately thats what I have been using to try and regain recovery. Any other ideas? Im really struggling, I thought maybe if I unrooted and just re-rooted correctly it might help but I can't find an FTF file for my network I can only find unbranded which I very much doubt would work.
anyone?
I'm in the exact same position. I flashed monx 438 rom and I don't know what happened, I can't get into recovery either. I'm on unlocked bootloader. I have tried flashing the boot.img from 438 advanced stock kernel but at the command prompt it keeps on saying waiting for device. I have root access.
Same here.
I have a stock .402 ROM, unlocked bootloader and rooted. Have flashed the recovery a few times, and still cant get into it. Even when trying to access recovery via cmd prompt "adb reboot recovery"
I too am in the same boat... I rooted my phone, primarily to add the kitkat sd card fix, which works...
Then I went through the motion of unlocking bootloader, which I assume worked cos it wiped my phone clean. Had to reinstall everything...
Then I went through the motion of installing Cwm recovery. This went through OK. Well according to the command prompt it did.
But still I can't access recovery. I get no flashing LED lights before the Sony logo comes up, and then it just boots into normal phone mode.
I am on UK 3 network if it makes any difference......
I'd really love to be able to access my recovery cos I'm dying to apply the dual speaker and volume hack....
Don't know where to go from here..........
Just to add, I flashed to firmware 402 (uk unbranded) and re-rooted the phone and re-installed cwm recovery, but I get no led lights and no recovery mode. Oh well, just like a number one hit for 'the who', it was never meant to be....lol
sorry to resurrect but I have the same issue. how did you guys get back into recovery
I use a kernel with recovery
Vol up - cwm
Vol down - twrp
Cam key - philz
I can't flash kernol because I can't get into recovery even using the app to force boot
