(I actually didn't mean to hit the thanks button on your post but it's really easy to fat finger this site on a tablet. You can hit thanks for me, though!)
Netflix hasn't released a tablet app yet so this is the mobile version blown up. Don't hold your breath for a native tablet app.

There's a tablet release for Netflix, but its only exclusive to the tablet I mention in my post per Netflix support.
Well, side load that apk I linked and you can watch Netflix on your Galaxy now. e
Didn't work like I previously stated.

I have it working on my verizon lte version, so I know this method is proven.
There have been various random netflix outages recently. This could explain the connection issue.

Yep this does work....BUT I had to root my LTE before applying the patch as it wouldn't update/modify the libnvomx.so file. After rooting the patch worked fine for me and so has netflix.
I'm thinking maybe you should have mentioned that yincrash states that he did this on an unlocked SCH-I905. That may affect the result.

The reason I didnt mention that it was unlocked is because mine is not unlocked and it worked properly. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

thanks for the post!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been using this on my PC and phones for quiet long time, but its tablet version hasn't been available on market is a different story! Despite the fact that in its description (on the Market) where states that it's compatible with "Samsung Galaxy Tab series" BUT being shown "incompatible with your device" by Market!
Now, going to try this on my GT-7500 and see if it really work!
P.S.: It's working just fine on my Tab, thanks again for this one ;-)
Yeah no problem.

This happens occasionally with Amazon apps, when I try to install an update. It's also just happened again when I bought the Humble Bundle of apps, and it won't install when I try to push the install button once I open the .apk. Anyone know a work-around or have experienced this as well?
I will restart and post my findings.
For those who don't know what the Humble Bundle is, it's a bundle of four, great games, that YOU choose the price for. Read this article to learn a little more about it: Pay what you want for this Android Bundle

It's an app that just makes the screen more dim than even Android can. You can set a default dimming level too.
That's is a stupid, stupid bug too, but at least I know why and it's now documented here. Thanks all.
Has anyone had this problem more recently?
I've been experiencing it on CM 10.1 ROMs, and only a complete wipe and reflash seems to fix the problem.
It would seem that SOMEWHERE, I need to wipe some kind of data out, but I don't know what. I'm having this exact situation right this second. Can't hit 'next' or can't hit 'install'.
4/11+ CM 10.1.
I don't see that 'Screen Filter' application. Nothing in apps called that. Does it have a different name?
Thank You

Any persistant overlay may prevent usage of the "install" or "next" button when installing an app from the SD card, whether it's screen filter or HALO. Chat heads, Ninja SMS, floating battery stats, etc are all possible culprits.
This is a safety built into android to prevent an app from popping up an overlay over the required permissions list and showing a "safe" list of required permissions on top of the real list of persmissions that allow it to read your texts, pick your wallet, and root around in your underwear drawer.

My Saviours!
I would just like to give a hearty THANK YOU for this thread.
I have been bashing my head against the desk trying to figure out WHY the hell I could not press the install button.
I have Twilight installed that dims your screen based on time of day. I followed the directions of turning it off, and look at that, it worked.
So what have I learned today?
There is ALWAYS an asnwer for something to not work as normal. It is a matter of asking the right question to find that answer.

I think they should have one button like that but the lock screen does kind of the same thing...
What kind of functionality would the hold button have that differs from the lock screen? They both act the same way, so why put an extra button on an android device that isn't going to be used?

What different is when i watch youtube and accidentally press the screen or the button the video still plays
So, if I have correctly understood your wish, you would like the power button to stop running applications when the screen is locked or at least to stop YouTube and music playing.
Though I am still making the first steps into android's knowledge, I think the only way would be rewriting the single apps in order to tell them to stop working (killed? Frozen?) when the screen is locked. I suppose that's their behavior in ios. On the other side, it would be a no way out remapping the power button so that it could close all running apps or some of them, because a bunch of Google code should be rewritten to modify its standard behavior. Another solution could be remapping a physical key for it to launch a single software (still to be written) whose aim should be to kill o freeze the above said applications.
IMHO it is so simple tapping on the running app and pressing the power button that no developer will ever spend a lot of time to build a solution like the ones I have just spoken about and, though I see it's a matter of taste, I think it would be better accepting android as it is
A lot of programs already has that. I think MX player has a button that locks out the control
Oh yes, it is true. I had never noticed that feature!
Do MX player lock works on all apps or only when you have mx player running
how about when you browse and watch Flash movie on flash website
I am looking for ways to prevent accidental button press ..
pressing the power button turns off the screen as well.
It's not on all the apps. But some do, like MX. Maybe this stuff should go on the android design site
you mean each app developer has to keep this in mind?
maybe I can suggest to youtube, skyfire and dolphin browser app to add the feature
other reading app .. where you can spend a long time on one single page.
I think YouTube kindaa has this. Where I think if you don't see the controls any more, you have to tap the screen once to activate the controls before you can use them.
I take no credit for this, a member named Murdoch1 posted a fix in the Mahdi ROM forum, I'm just sharing.
The fix is a build prop change.
1) Navigate to system/buildprop using a root explorer (I use the Root Explorer app)
2) Open the build prop in a text editor.
3) Scroll down until you see two "ro.product.device=d800 (Mine says d800 because I have the AT&T G2, so yours might say something else)
4) Thanks to Eduqay, you also need to change "ro.product.model=" make sure it says "ro.product.model=hammerhead".
5) Change whatever is after the = sign to "hammerhead - for example: ro.product.device=hammerhead.
You might have to change one, save, then reopen the build prop file and change the other for it to stick.
Reboot and have fun!
Thanks but not works here (d802 CloudyG3 1.2).

Do we need to change the ro.product.device= or leave it the same?
Thanks

Different problem here, about 10 second lag using screen mirroring but audio works fine with minimal issues (Spotify for example). Netflix/youtube/etc all work fine when using the built in cast buttons.
Happens on stock and CloudyG3, factory reset didn't help anything. All works perfectly on a 2013 Nexus 7 using the same chromecast/network so it is something with my G2.

It needs to be changed to "ro.product.device=hammerhead"
why "fixing" things? G2 is officially supported and works flawlessly for screen casting.
Didn't work for me. Maybe cause I'm using netgear push2tv3000 dongle, but I was really hoping this was my solution. Anybody know of a good aosp ROM with working cast screen option

Is your device rooted?
When I update and rooted my Nexus 9 for the first time, somehow, it kept the old kernel, not the "Q" one. And had some issues like lag, adaptive brightness and inability to use "listening mode".
I installed and rooted again and everything was solved, including the listening mode.

I tried a factory reset and it seems to be working now although it's a little inconsistent. It stops detecting when the tablet is not used for some time but a reboot fixes that.

My first Nexus 9 didnt work, but my second one which immediately updated to the newest version did work.
Inconsisten behavior here too. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. After a reboot everything seems to work just fine, but then it starts to fail here and there. Not smooth, anyway.
Inconsistent behavior with screen off. I'm on the latest R release (fresh factory image install).
