Overclock or anything else cool??? - Motorola Photon 4G

I have a Epic 4g & I'm known in the theming community there, so my boss just got a photon & rooted it & since I know more bout this stuff than he does, I'm coming here to see what's all available like overclock if there's anyway to do it at all, how to put clockwork on the easiest way, or anything else that might be cool or helpfull. He's rooted but not unlocked, I downloaded super user for him, put busybox on, & a few essential root aps.

No overclock or custom kernels yet. With the unlocked bootloader it shouldn't be long, but we still need them to release the code. Please post your questions in general. We're trying to keep development uncluttered.

[req] aosp rom???

Hello Every Dev!
I know most people were really about Sense 3.0......
But I hate it! :-[
Is anyone working on releasing (or have already in wait) an AOSP ROM for the for the E3D???
THANKS!
*I'm not a Dev....although u can't tell by ego*

kushdeck tweeted that he had his 3D, so I assume he'll be planning to port EVO Deck over this way, eventually. I certainly hope so, because his was my AOSP ROM of choice on my 4G.
Can't be done I'm afraid, for you see we don't have full root or S-Off yet....Please post your questions on the general section next time buddy

Well unless this thread was already moved before I got to it, then he posted in the correct section. It is a question, and I am in the q and a section. If it was originally in a different section, then I apologize.
To answer the question though, I'm sure
that once we have S off then we will have our AOSP roms. That will be an exciting time.

[Q] SuperOneClick does it root 2.3.3

hey guys will SuperOneClick be able to root 2.3.3?

Survey says..... #1 answer is NO.
You need to be running 2.3.2, check for the applicable flashes to downgrade in the sticky threads, and double-check everything first. I believe SuperOneClick includes the GingerBreak method, which works on the GSM versions of 2.3.2. That hole was patched in 2.3.3 (and for 2.3.2 for USA CDMA version on Verizon Wireless).

Maybe if the "noobs" followed the rules, and didnt spam development with stupid questions, they would be able to find the relevent development thread with the answers to there questions and the op isnt a noob, he has made nearly 160 posts he should know the forum rules
When you have subscribed to the Dev forum waiting for something to happen in the dev field (which finally seems to be the case) it is a bit... style-cramping to see this kind of posts, so to say.

TBH, if you have a Q, last it in the general section. They should only allow certain members to post in the developers section!

Maybe only letting certain people start new threads in development would be an epic idea
Yea I agree with AndroHero this dev section is starting to just fill up with new threads asking questions that should be asked in the general section something needs to be done about it its just cluttering this whole section up

Yup, its needed badly. Seems like this phone is getting popular day by day. We need dedicated Q&A section. I am surprised we dont have it for this phone yet. Its been good 1+ month since launch.

Yes, I am completely with this, some kind of mod attention in the Photon forums would be much appreciated!

What if this thread were reported? Would that get their attention, or would it be closed? Just a thought as I'm sure the mods don't read every thread.

Do we have a mod for the Photon section? If not, what does it take to get one?
+1
I tried to address these issues with main XDA mods last week with no luck. It seems as though they don't care about us. Really tired of the way XDA runs things anymore which is why a lot of devs started their own forums.
Last I looked there was not a dedicated moderator for the Photon but it is obviously being watched.
Bump. More questions in development ...

Trust me people will still post questions in the dev section. I just came from the EVO 3D and every other day someone has to post a noob question in development.

Guess I took the Nexus One section for granted. That crap didn't happen there.
Sent from my Motorola Photon 4g
I'm an Epic owner, considering a Photon. I can tell you it's a major problem over there too. Many ROM threads have become almost totally useless because of the same 4 or 5 questions being repeated over and over hundreds of times by people who don't do any research or read anything prior to posting. An endless chain of "do what now??"

Dev forum rant

Now with Poll!

I really don't blame him -_- I don't know how these development forums get so off topic. Just think of the benefits of clean threads.. Noobs and vets alike could find the info they need with ease! We wouldn't have to post the same info over and over to keep it current! Now I love thanking my devs, and telling everyone how kick ass my favorite roms are, but lets learn from CM7 and start some threads in the general forum. Maybe we could even have a rom discussion forum! How cool would that be?

Maybe talk to a admin
I think it may help over time.. but just like all sections people post in the wrong section or triple post in every section.
And most people around here are to lazy to use HTC unlock method because they will have to flash from a computer. Let alone flash a rom... then talk about it on a different sub-forum....
Ill +1 the idea
Anything at this point to relieve tension in some threads and make the moderators jobs easier is a good thing in my mind

That's alot of work to sticky and link every thread tho. Lol
I vote xhausx should do it!
*Edit*
But then the GSM people will want their own thing to. Uhh could be a mess...

Honestly, GSM and CDMA should just be two complete separate forums. Different General, different Q&A, etc

You'll have to talk to GODZSON, madnish30, toastcfh or lufc
It would take an admin to add forums though and that would be a mess with how many people there are working on multiple devices

Yeah it was strange coming back here when I traded my epic touch
They really have nothing that can mix so what's the point of having them share general, themes, and Q/A sections.

I helped get the G2X forum opened before its release date. I did my one good deed this year.. lol
But you should talk to jay and see if he can start to sticky threads in Q/A for now. And you can help keep them up to date
Only joking tho lol

Yes the Q&A probably has more potential.. i like this idea.. but general rom specific comments wouldn't belong there.. I dont feel its my place to contact anyone about this.. I'm barely not a noob.. but if anyone would like, please contact someone!

as much as i like myn's roms, the warm threads and the "mynions" that post off-topic stuff and don't know how to wipe really detract from all of the good work the developers do.

That is so sweet!!! That was contained in their q&a subforum so no new forum would be needed. So who's responsibility is it to start the q&a thread? I noticed some were started by a mod while others were by the rom developers.
It might be worth making this thread a poll so mods can get a gauge of public opinion about this. Personally I would vote hell yes!
I encourage devs to start a separate thread from the actual rom thread for off topic q&a type stuff. Miui has it here with the miui one stop shop thread. Cm had it for the most part in general. I support the separate thread idea.
And if only jay, haus and I were mods here.. Where is that petition?

What can I do with a rooted phone?

So I want to root my EVO3D. Once I've gone through the process and completed it, what can I do with my rooted phone?
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
well having a rooted phone allows you to post in the proper section
this belongs in the Q and A section
but in all seriousness it basically unlocks your phone and allows for complete ownership over the product without being locked down by carrier or manufacturer

Normally I'd refrain from this type of behavior but..
Obvious troll is Obvious.
Why come here asking about what you can do with a rooted phone when you've got experience flashing CM7 to your CDMA hero? The "EVO 3D CDMA Development" Sub forum is for ROM/Kernel releases not Q&A. There's a specific Q&A Section where this question has been asked in this thread and answered Here in post # 2.
you can brick it, I wouldn't root for the life of me.
Now that I actually realize what I asked, I'm appalled. I post this again in the correct section, actually asking a real question... at least as real a question as my mind can currently come up with. My defense is that it's 2:30 in the morning. Anyway, I asked one of the moderators to delete this so please head over to the Q/A section.
