Plug your phone into the computer and reflash with SEUS. I believe thats your only choice now.....well that and the flashtool.
yup...trying to use the flashtool now...downloading the latest one so hopefully can use a generic rom / install the xrecovery via flashtool first...
but i am still downloading it....bloody connection is so slow here...
Thanks!
Thankfully, you can't actually brick this phone unless it has real hardware failure. All you gotta do is remove the battery (to get it to turn off), then put it back in like 30 seconds later, hold the back button while plugging in usb, then you are in flash mode to install whatever rom you'd like with seus or flashtool
it's alive!!! ahahahahaha...thanks!
so this means it is QUITE the unbrickable!!
unbrickable x10... until u stomp on it .... hahahahaha
I was hoping someone could be of help. I have an old SE X10 that I was going to give to a friend. I had an old wolfbreak rom on it. Xrecovery etc The bootloader is locked, but I am having some serious problems getting flashtool to do anything with the phone. So I decided to go into recovery and wipe etc. Now it wont boot and flashtool doesnt seem to wanna do anything either. Anyone have any advice on how to get my device back up and running?
Tried running update service to reset, I can get it to try, but it keeps saying im on the latest software. I really have no clue what to do with flashtool just sitting at preparing files for flashing, forever
can u go to xrecovery..???
If yes, then put a ROM on SD card and flash it again.
Nope, the back button does nothing @ sony logo. Ahhh frustrating!

In SEUS or PCCompanion even when it says you are on the latest software there is an option to "update anyway" or "repair"
I have a problem with my phone one day to another calls are heard almost nothing too low can not find the problem and return to the original rom and nothing stays the same even prodian please help thanks..
Have you tried re-flashing your chosen rom?
Flashtool guide here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928343
Or...
If you want to return to your original rom but you cant, then maybe think about starting all over again from stock rom. Then you can flash to whatever you like from a nice clean install
You can do this using several methods...
PC companion...

Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS)...

Hope this helps
I have been visiting this site ever since I first read about X10 & was fascinated by it (I have always loved SE phones). Anyway, I have since gotten an X10i (AT&T) & have de-branded it as well as unlocking & rooting it. Here goes:
I installed Champs' Rom (x10sV9-addon) but didn't want all the clutter he had pre-installed. To make a long story short, I went back to Wolf's ROM via Xrecovery but something went wrong. I can no longer boot into Xrecovery & after SonyEricsson logo, screen goes blank, not black/blue just blank. The other problem is, since I can't see the screen, I can't turn on the USB connection so my PC/Flashtool/SEUS can recognize my device so I can fix it. This happened while trying to re-install Wolf's ROM & installing the following zip files via Xrecovery: Bravia_Xloud engine, Xperia S Player, Champ + Bar, x10_gb_stock_wifi_modules. Then I rebooted & I get the blank screen. I know it is on because I can turn the volume all the way down to vibrate. The "home" button still lights up. PLEASE, I need someone's help with this one as I am no expert, just a moderate tinkerer. ANY help/incite would be appreciated. Sorry, I can't even give you any screenshots. Can anyone out there help me out? Thanx in advance.

RE: Blank Screen After Flashing Custom ROM
Thanx for getting back to me so fast. As I said, the screen is blank. That is, the backlit display works but I can see nothing else. The "Home" button lights up when i press it but the display does nothing. If/When I reboot to try to enter XRecovery, I see the SonyEricsson logo followed by the backlit screen & nothing else. The Volume up/down buttons work as I am able to silence the phone by turning volume all the way down to vibrate. Because I cannot see what's on the display, I cannot turn USB on/off to connect to PC to run SEUS/Flashtool, etc. I.E. I cannot fix the device. Usually I just boot into XRecovery to fix a problem like this but that doesn't work.
x10
hy, install sony update service and repair your phone, then install again custom rom, the indications how to repair your phone software is in the program.
Best regards

I wish I had gotten this solution sooner. Not sure if it would have mattered. When trying to use Flashtool I kept getting an error saying my phone was not in "flash mode".
I solved my problem by flashing using Omnius & flashing firmware 'X10i_generic_SE_24_MultiTouch.rar'. This got my phone back but it was only 2.1 so I used 'DooMLoRD_v4_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su' to get me back to 2.3, but this is where I'm at. I had Wolf's firmware before but right now I have no xRecovery installed. I thought I had rooted my phone but xRecovery isn't installed nor is Busybox.. Any ideas? Thanx in advance...EVERYONE @ XDA-DEVELOPERS rox!
I haven't replied to this post because I'm at my wit's end. I still can't get XRecovery installed & I think I've tried all the methods out there. Maybe my problem is that I restored my phone using Omnius. Flashtool works OK but I can't do anything but Flash on it. My phone is a headache now. It freezes up, crashes & sometimes won't read the SD card. Please help...

C if u can repair phone using SEUS now. Open the software without connecting phone. N then go to the update part. It should give u a repair option. Then follow those steps. Or else just connect ur phone n then start software. When it tells u ur phone is up to date click on that n then click on "repair". Then use the latest flashtool to root. Recoveries come with kernels so just flash a custom kernel.

Many Thanks, I was finally able to use SEUS; before I could not. I used Flashtool to upgrade/downgrade kernel. However, I still don't have XRecovery installed & I'm not sure how to do this. I can't install XRecovery using Flashtool. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would really like to install a custom Rom again.
I don't think u need to upgrade or downgrade.. just look for a link to download xrecovery here and follow instructions

I'm not sure how it went down but prior to this, I was unable to use SEUS. No matter what I did, I couldn't repair it. However, since your post, I was able to use SEUS & Flashtool to get back to where I was before I screwed up my X10a. I'm currently running Wolf's Rom (many thanx!!!) & am very satisfied w/all your help homey! You da man!
I noticed you are running ICS on your X10i. Any help so that I may partake of that deliciousness?

Ur welcome i don't think u need help you just flashed a custom ROM.. the procedure for installing ICS is the same. Although it'd be better if you are on stock before installing it.. just look for an ICS ROM that u like (I'm using feralab n it works like a charm).
Get the kernel n ROM.. as usual, put the ROM zip on ur SD card, flash the kernel, install ROM from recovery
Although before installing:
1. In recovery go to mounts n storage
2. Format system data n cache
3. Mount system, data n cache (note that if the mounting is successful the options should change to unmount system, unmount data, unmount cache respectively)
4. Then install ROM
5. The installer is GUI based so it'll guide u really well through the installation

no, not yet
if possible i would like to avoid any reset
but could you give me the step on how to factory reset?
Assuming you're using the standard rom:
1) Download „Sony Ericsson PC companion“ and install it on your PC
2) Connect your phone and got to “Support Zone”
3) Press “Phone Repair”
4) Follow further instructions
Or if you've got Recovery, just boot into it and wipe data/factory reset.
I dont see any other way, you will not lose your contacts/pictures/music, so give it a try.
Sent from my MIUI powered Optimus L5.
you can reflash your rom, dont forget before reflash you must backup any data in your phone.
sori for my bad english
