Hey guys!
Anyone know if there is some roms/kernels for our SGH-T959P yet and if so, where I can find them?! Seems that there is no love for you model
Max
is that the telus fascinate 4g?
Yes it is the telus fascinate 4G from Canada.. You can help me?
Thanks,
Max

I'm on a T959D (Fascinate 3G+), so unfortunately I can't help you. I'd just like to point out that there's no custom rom specific for our device as well (T959D). We instead use i9000 roms. There are some kernels specific for our device, but the i9000-ones work just as well (after a button fix)
I'd suggest trying out an i9000 rom, but since I'm not aware of the existence of stock rom/kernel files for the 4G phone, I'm not sure how safe it is
Yeah.. Im scared to bricked the phone so i will just wait till a rom come out for my specific phone. Thanks for the reply.

Still waiting on a Rom or instructions on how to use another models ROM without bricking for our t959p also. I've had the phone about a month and it was fine at first, but now touchwiz is starting to get a little laggy

you can change the dock icons to touchwiz ones if you like the color. my only gripe with it is that the dock buttons are tiny compared to touchwiz. but the interface is overall faster and less-choppy than touchwiz 3.0

Thanks! Just tried launcher pro and it seems really good. Previously I had tried ADW launcher but that one was even more choppy than Touchwiz so i reverted back to it. But launcher pro seems like it has all the customizations of ADW and works nice and smoothly.
Unbrick and Flash T-Mobile Galaxy S 4G firmware to T959P with Voodoo
Well, I bricked my T959P on Friday and by this morning I had it converted to a T-Mobile T959V Galaxy S 4G. Everything works too...wifi, GPS. Only real issue is it only gives me 3G in canada .... I am assuming because of a frequency difference or something in the modem firmware.
PM me if someone would like the rar file containing the instructions and all flash files. I am hoping someone posts the stock Telus kernel so I can experiment more with taking the phone back but I could not get root on my Telus Kernel so didn't have a proper backup of all files. Hopefully someone will post them but in the mean time I am enjoying a Telus T959P Fascinate 4G with T-Mobile Rooted firmware on it.

I just did the unlock of the Telus T959P after recovering it from a brick using the nvram backup technique and then copied the backup to my computer. The code is in clear text on the T959P as well I am now at T-Mobile 2.3.4 KH2 with Voodoo and have a fully unlocked Telus T959P. Not a bad end result to some hard days.

So you are still on Telus in canada but now only getting 3g on it vs 4g like you were before you convereted it to Tmobile? How do you verify that, just by the speeds you are getting or are you not seeing one of the 850 or 1900 bands anymore? I don't think the phone actually shows "4G" in the status bar as far as I know. But I'm actually using the phone on ATT in the US (which uses the same bands as Telus) so maybe thats why I never see "4g". But I've gotten speeds as high as 7mb download which is about as fast as my wife's ATT branded HTC Inspire 4g gets.
Can you post the instructions and files for how you converted here so others can play around with it too? Hopefully this can be a good start to getting roms working on this phone. The Tmobile version is already more widely supported so what you did is a good way to get around it.
Still on Telus network with T959P on T-Mobile Firmware
Yep, still on the telus network. Maybe the Tmobile bin just doesn't show the 4G like the old Telus bin did because I am getting download speeds between 4 and 7Mbs.
In the end it was pretty easy (if I take away two days of seeing the phone go from bricked to partially booting). Here are the steps I followed, and I have repeated these to verify that they work as well. I still haven't found any issues with the phone except that it isn't recognized in Kies with the Tmobile software
Download the following files in the Tmobile section at Samfirmware.com:
T959VUVKH2_TMB.zip
T959VUVFK1.zip
This file can be found elsewhere. I had originally posted links but I am a new user so not allowed.
stock+Voodoo-T959VKH2.tar
Hawk_Sidekick_VibrantPlus_831.pit -- Can be found in the T959VUVFK1.zip file
Once you have downloaded the files above:
1) Extract the files with 7zip.
2) In the extracted files for T959VUVKH2. Find the CODE_T959VUVKF1_CL270364_REV00_user_low_noship.tar.mdf
3) Extract cache.rfs, factoryfs.rfs, modem.bin and zimage to a folder on your computer.
4) Now extract the T959VUVFK1.zip so that you can extract the file called CODE_T959VUVKF1_CL270364_REV00_user_low_noship.tar.md5 All we want out of this tar file is data.rfs which should be placed in the same folder as the files in step 3.
5) Now use Windows Tar to execute the following command line from the command line while you are in the same directory as the files you have extracted in steps 3 and 4 above:
tar -c cache.rfs data.rfs factoryfs.rfs modem.bin zimage > T959P Flash.tar
Flash the new file with ODIN
This should have created a new file called T959P Flash.tar. Simply flash this T959P Flash.tar file in Odin and your Telus phone will boot to TMobile 4G firmware. Make sure you put the T959P Flash.tar file in the PDA box in ODIN to flash it. Also make sure the Hawk_Sidekick_VibrantPlus_831.pit file is in the PIT box and the REPARTITION Checkbox is on.
Rooting your new TMobile firmware on the Telus T959P
Once this is done flash the stock+Voodoo-T959VKH2.tar file which will root, add voodoo and CWM the newly flashed device. Again just put the file in the PDA Box and flash it. FLASH this with NO PIT and REPARTITION NOT SELECTED.
Unlocking the Device
The last step is to use dd to backup the NVData, open it with a hex and use the search technique talked about on the forums to find the unlock code which works perfect as well.
Hopefully this helps someone else. There seem to be a lot of people like me who erronously flashed the regular Telus T959D firmware by accident or the Vibrant software which pretty much kills the T959P and bricks your device. This will get people back to a usable state and GPS, WIFI, 3G/4G and everything else seem to work....except the Kies connection which I sure will get figured out eventually. Maybe just a matter of exporting the device db entries out of a valid system so that kies will see it as a valid phone. Not quite there yet.
One last note. You apparently cannot completely brick the T959P in the sense that even when it is black the EEPROM will still boot to download mode. Just hold Power + the Volume UP Down button for 10 seconds, then let go of the power button and keep holding the volume up/down. If you have odin open you will eventually see it recognize the com port. May take a couple of tries but this made it easier for me to continue to flash it knowing that I could always flash another bin

Uploaded T-Mobile Rom for Telus T959
I have uploaded the files I used to convert my bricked Telus T959P to a Tmobile Galaxy S 4G. Instructions are provided earlier in the thread on how the files that are used were created. This is the rar with the exact end files that are flashed to my Telus phone. Just follow the instructions that came with the rar to upload and root the Tmobile software on your Telus phone.
I am not allowed to post links yet so PM me if anyone wants the mediafire link to the tried and tested Tmobile for Telus T959P files.

Thanks for posting the instructions! Sent you a PM to get the link to download files...although I'm not sure if I'm going to try this just yet. I want to try to get instructions and files for how to get it back to stock, Telus ROM before I probably do try these out. Do you happen to have those also?
My unlocked T959p on ATT only has network options of GSM or WCDMA (or both). And the icon in the notification area has never said 4g...always on 3g. But I also get speeds which ATT would claim to be 4g (upto 7Mbps). So you are probalby good.
As far as Kies goes, I've never used it but isn't it just used for software upgrades for your phone? And now that you have a different ROM on it, you will probably never need to use it right, just use updates from whoever manages the Voodoo ROM? So should be good there also.
Yeah, I punched my Telus sim that came with the T959P and put it in my Iphone 4. The speeds in the Iphone 4 seem way slower than with the same SIM in the Galaxy S 4 G (T959P) with the TMobile Galaxy S 4G firmware on it. I put it back into the whole I punched it out of and slid it back into the Galaxy S after testing on the Iphone to make sure the tests were done back to back and the Galaxy S 4G is consistently faster with the same SIM and 3G displayed in the menu bar.
I don't have original Telus Bin files so I can't go back and compare the Tmobile firmware speeds with the Telus T959P firmware speeds. Hopefully someone who has a rooted T959P on Stock Telus firmware will post a link to the stock firmware files so I can test this too.
So as a t959p owner who lives in Canada, is this a good idea for me? I guess not if it actually slows the data down... Can someone clarify this, I'm finding the comments a bit confusing here.? (and silly question... Any bt issues?) Interesting to note, I bought a tmobile sim card for my stock (2.3.4) unit while in the US for a couple weeks, and my data speed is about fifteen kbytes/second. Yes you read right. Customer support obviously is useless on that. So while modding it into a TMo sgs4g would quite likely get me back to multi MB/s for the rest of my trip, what would my data speed be when I get back to Alberta and put my Telus Sim back in? Maybe some experimenting would isolate the file that triggers this, and one could swap in the appropriate version when on each network.
And serious thanks for experimenting with this... This may finally get us people who bought T959Ps not realizing what a lonely device it is, back into the main modding scene. Exciting... maybe I'll stop wishing I'd bought an iPhone yet.
Also, I'll mention here again that I have a stock Telus T959P 2.3.3 firmware set that has been used to resurrect a handful of handsets (including mine) if anyone needs it. (pm me.)

READ Thoroughly before you start, pay special attention to the last paragraph!!! I am not responsible if this goes wrong but if you are here, not sure what other options you have.......
This for anyone who has flashed the wrong software on their T959P:
NOTE: You NEED to use the PIT file for each flash.......
NOTE NOTE: NEVER FLASH WITH ANY OF THE THE CHECKBOXES ON, THEY NEED TO BE BLANK READ BELOW THE STEPS!!!!!
1. Get the factory firmware, I have a copy as does rryanosman who sent it to me
2. If you don't have it get ODIN
3. Extract the .rar I recommend 7zip
4. Start Odin, put phone in download mode right after connecting
5. Put factory.tar in PDA slot, Flash the factory tar, wait for Odin to pass, power down phone while still connected
6. Disconnect, take out battery, reset Odin.
7. Back to download mode after plugging in the phone.
8. Put the zimage.tar file in the PDA slot, Flash the zimage.tar file, wait for Odin to pass, power down phone while still connected.
9. Disconnect, take out battery, reset Odin.
10. Back to download mode after plugging in the phone.
11. Put the paramalfs.tar in the PDA slot, Flash the paramalfs.tar file, wait for Odin to pass, power down phone while still connected.
12. Disconnect, take out battery, reset Odin.
13. Back to download mode after plugging in the phone.
14. Put the boot.bin file in the phone slot and flash, wait for Odin to pass, power down phone while still connected.
15. Disconnect, take out battery, reset Odin.
16. Back to download mode after plugging in the phone.
17. Put the sbl.bin file in the phone slot, and flash, wait for Odin to pass, power down phone while still connected.
18. Disconnect, take out battery, reset Odin.
19. Back to download mode after plugging in the phone.
18. Put the modem.bin in the phone slot, and flash, wait for Odin to pass, power down phone while still connected.
19. Disconnect, take out battery.
20. Put battery back in power up phone, you should have a running phone with 2.2.1 foyo
OPTIONAL: Update with Kies to 2.3.4 Gingerbread.
If you do ANY flash with the checkboxes on, especially the repartition, be prepared to break into a cold sweat, your phone will only show a white screen, no download mode, no recovery just WHITE!!!
The good news is if you hold volume up and power, while watching Odin it will still recognize the phone (com will be yellow) the phone will only have the white screen. From here you need to start from step 1 again, make sure you clear the checkboxs!!!! I personally did this 3 times before I brought my phone back to life!!!
Again special thanks to rryanosman without his help I'd have a $500 paperweight.

Technically if you're unticking repartition you're not even using the .pit file.
The intermediate steps (ie, disconnecting, removing the battery and restarting odin) are a bit unnecessary but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to be extra cautious.

I was watching as Odin started processing, it read the pit file each time I flashed a file. I actually tried to flash without disconnecting and nothing happened, Odin reported 0 success/0 failed, that is why I did the intermediate steps (at least in the state my phone was in). Also at the end of the first time I tried, I was flashing the modem.bin and forgot to untick the repartition, which gave me a nice white screen, I had to reboot with volume up and power to get to the download screen (couldn't actually see it because the screen was still white) I only knew I was in download because Odin recognized the phone.

It reads the .pit file but it doesn't write it. Since the correct partition table is (presumably) right on your phone already (otherwise it wouldn't boot and you'd have to repartition anyway) it essentially does nothing. I've successfully flashed back to 2.2 Froyo from 2.3.4 Gingerbread without the .pit file.
A little bit more about the .pit file: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878104
It's generally just a good idea not to use the .pit file unless you've used a custom ROM that has overwritten the phone's original 512 setup. It's harmless if repartition is unchecked, but you don't need the file anyway. Re-partitioning overwrites the bootloaders, so if something goes wrong during one, it will be harder to recover from than your usual soft brick. Also, the .pit file that comes with the phone is likely faulty (a possible problem with using Rotobackup: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=850359 ) which resulted in the white screen when attempting to repartition.
I guess the intermediate steps are of the optional, YMMV variety. It doesn't hurt to try to boot to download mode and flash again without going through the extra steps and then trying them if it doesn't work.

so i bricked my phone. fortunately though i was able to recover it. the question i have is, there was not a rom for my carrier i.e. cellsouth but there was one for another network(verizon), so i used that. btw my phone is a samsung showcase which is almost identical to the fascinate so i have no problems with it except seeing verizon as the network when i boot up or lock the screen. also when i check to see which carrier i'm on by dialing 611, i get cellsouth. i just dont want to incur any fees i dont know about,so im asking if there are any dangers using a rom from a different network???
No I do not believe that there is between cell south and verizon. I had a hero that ran on a sprint rom then my last phone was a milestone that I was using roms that where for the moto droid from verizon. But can I ask how you bricked your phone and what you did to fix it? I got a galaxy showcase and was trying to install a different kernel to help on the battery life and through odin I messed it up but was able to fix it by install eb11_voodoo.zip and Showcase_eb11_PnP_0.3. Well today I was going down the road and plugged my phone in the car charger and a few minutes later it just rebooted by itself. After that it did not have any service. I went under settings, about phone and it said unknown under several of the options. I took it to cell south after I tried several things and all they did was make it not even boot up. Now if I try to flash a rom from or kernel or anything at all from CWM v3.2.0.0.otb it says, Amen scripting was necessary to remove it when upgrading to the ClockworkMod 3.0 Gingerbread based recovery. Please switch to Edify scripting (updater-script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages. Installation aborted. Can somebody HELP me get back my phone???
to unbrick it
to unbrick samsung showcase.you need samsung drivers, search forums or google ,easy find.
READ COMPLETELY AND DOWNLOAD FILES FIRST BEFORE STARTING.btw follow guide at your own risk. take no responsibility for you bricking your phone.which you already did, i mean for other people lol. it will work if you do it right so dont panic...i think...well, i hope
1) remove battery
2)plug usb cable to computer
3)start odin-
3)connect usb to phone and press volume down same time to activate download mode-that is yellow triangle thing-you should see "added" in odin
4) then make sure repartition auto reboot, reset time are checked-all three
5)then for pit file choose http://www.mediafire.com/?26xbh796jmwvwqb
6)for pda, go to here and download from the link that has "ECLAIR".its suppose to be about 419.5 mb.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1124391
btw a guy named adrenalyn i believe uploaded these files so thanks to him.
hope this guide helps in you figuring it out.basically summarizing all you need cause i was confused a little bit when i began and realized i messed my phone up.
let me know if this works for yah.half asleep while doing this
I think your actual question was kinda missed here so I will explain it to you. First the rom that you choose to use is not carrier based, but is device based, never flash a rom that is not for your brand and model of phone. The thing that matters for the carrier is the modem, that gives you phone, data, and messaging. The only way your phone will not be on your carriers network is if you go through the involved process of switching it over yourself. Usually if you put the wrong modem on your phone it just won't work, requiring you to find the proper odin program to flash, including repartitioning the phone to get it right again. Hope this answers your questions.
Yea Dale...that answers my question ty

Some background on my phone first. I thought that I bricked it a few weeks ago when I flashed a kernel for it that went to a fascinate. I thought that the showcase was and is a twin to it. But my phone would not boot up. Did some more research and ended up flashing CWM 3.0 and then PnP 3.0 and eb11 build and had a phone again. Well had no problems till yesterday when my phone just did a reboot by itself and then I had no service and under about phone several of the categories said unknown. I took it to cellsouth and left with a phone that would not even boot up! All I can do is boot in CWM but if I try flashing a anything it says either error with restoring boot image or something about updating sript and binary files. Can somebody help me out?
Check out this thread, second post after original op, it has files and process to odin the Showcase. This is most likely your best option. GO HERE
just found a link with the showcase stock file..im downloading now and will let you know if it works. had the same problem as you. now im using fascinate bases and cant get my 3g
Well I got it to where I can at least talk on it!... I flashed it back to a stock DL09 with odin. Which it now looks and acts just like a Verizon phone. So I can talk and text but has NO data of any kind unless I connect to wifi. I think that I need to flash a DJ20 or EB11 radio to it but not sure, Maybe somebody could lend there knowledge again. Thanks so far.
i was just like you...had to use that verizon rom. however i did find a c.south stock rom and got to normal.YES!! but still working on getting 3g back up. i think it messed up when i flashed another modem or somthing. i'll post link in a sec.

Hello,
I was running CM7 rom with gapps installed. it was draining my battery like crazy and i read online that it happens because the phone doesnt go into "deep sleep" mode. i decided to use another ROM instead and tried flashing my phone to stock 2.1 eclair before doing that. odin gave me an error during the process. so i goggled some more and on one of the xda forums it said that its recommended to follow this process - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1124391
i performed the option number 1 - *EB01 FROYO *Unofficial leak* full odin tar*
later when this process failed on me on odin, i realized that i am on the forum for samsung fascinate. my phone turns on with a samsung screen but gets stuck on a verizon wireless welcome message.
i have tried going back to stock 2.1 eclair but it gets stuck on modem.bin on odin.
what should i do?
there's a dongle that plugs into the USB port and can almost always reset your phone. Google it. Samsung vibrant USB dongle should find it and there are videos on YouTube.
alternately you can use the instructions on how to go to any other ROM from cm7/muiu. It involves a pit file, clicking repartition box and flashing with a complete stock room for you're phone (ROM and kernel at least and might as well do radio too).
Maybe that might work.
It's really hard to hard brick an Android especially the samsungs.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using xda premium
the phone actually turned on as a verizon wireless samsung fascinate and im able to do everything but make calls. so i went ahead and used superclickoneroot thing and rooted my phone. i downloaded rom manger to install clockworkmod recovery and now im gnna try and install a custom rom for vibrant and hope that works.
If you can get to dl mode, go find my GingerZen thread in the dev section, and follow the FTDNB steps in the second post. That will get you fixed up.

i downloaded the pit/pda to flash with odin and also checked off repartition, its stuck on modem.bin - is that normal?
No, pull the battery and try it again.
Sent from my ZenDroid, meditating on the XDA App
well i think im at an even worse stage now. the phone does not turn on anymore. no samsung/galaxys or verizon wireless homescreen like before. but my computer does recognize it i think because i am able to go into download mode. im only able to go into download mode without my battery. with the battery in, the phone is useless and dead.
just so i know i have it right my first step is this right? - Download this first, and flash through Odin with your standard 512 pit file and then it redirects me to the EB productions website. (i am not allowed to post an outside link for being new and all)
Both links go to the eb productions site, both Odin packages were created by eugene373. If you can get to dl mode, you can still flash. I wouldn't give up, take a deep breath and try it again.
Sent from my ZenDroid, meditating on the XDA App
i am not giving up. i have tried atleast 15 times but same thing. it gets suck on modem.bin. i feel like its getting stuck there because its formatted as a fascinate now and im trying to put vibrant softwares but then again what do i know lol
It doesnt let you flash modem.bin because of the bootloader, flash a vibrant bootloader and re-flash stock jfd with re-partition enable with pit file.
You should be good.
Is there a guide that helps me with the steps on flashing a vibrant bootloader?
As demetris_I stated, it does sound like you need to repartition off the bat. Don't repartition witht he FTDNB initial file, go striaght to either stock JFD of the JK2 in my post I referred you to, and select the repartition check box in Odin. That should tell Odin to set your mount points and flash all the files to their correct lo9cation.
For bootloaders if you want to try them, search for the GB bootloaders thread in the dev section, it also contains the froyo bootloaders, all flashable through Odin. I personally would try flashing a full Odin rom (such as the JK2 of stock JFD files) first with repartition, as those files will reset your bootloaders during the flash.
fascinate verizon Is not a gsm phone so when you flash the rom you also flash the bootloaders from it.It doesnt have a modem.bin partition and odin doesnt know where or cant put the modem.bin thats why is stuck there.
Go to dev section find froyo bootloader follow guide and re enter download mode and flash stock JFD with pit file and repartition checked, as i said You should be ok.
run odin under administrator or try heimdall instead
so, i just want to use t mobile vibrant on verizon
Is this an easy thing to do?
It's impossible. Vibrant uses GSM technology (sim card) and radio frequency called 1700/2100 in the USA. Fascinate uses CDMA (no sim card you call Verizon to activate your phone) and 1900 frequency.
Note: T-mobile vibrant can use AT&T 3G band (only one of them not both like AT&T captivate does).

Last night I went to reboot into recovery and my phone now sits at the Galaxy S2 splash screen and won't boot up. Tried plugging it in powered off and it won't even go into charging mode. The battery picture just comes up and the little spinning wheel keeps going.
So Ive been trying for the last hour to reflash the phone back to stock using both Entropys return to stock guide as well as the 'How to return your phone to the store' guide too and no luck.
Heimdall of course as always just flat out doesn't work so I hooked it up to my laptop and ran Odin. Odin connects to the phone fine and the box turns yellow, but the minute I hit start, it just gives me this:
<ID:0/008> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/008>
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
I even tried the one click ICS leak from Rootzwiki and the same thing.
I can get the phone into Download mode no problem but man I cannot get it to flash ANY of these rome!!
Any advice or should I just take it to an ATT store on the way home from work??
I got it around the second week of February so hopefully worst case scenario I can still exchange it..
Im at my wits end here, can't do anything with it!!
I had same problem with my sprint Gs2, I took it into the store they told me since I rooted they couldnt help me. But the guy said go into download mode and root it again, it will remove anything and everything off it. Idk if that's what you want though. It got my phone back up and running

Ahh forgot to add I can't get into Recovery anymore.
No clue what happened. I can get it into Download mode but not Recovery.
If I could've gotten into Recovery I could've just flashed my Nandroid last night and fixed it hehe..
ODIN requires Download mode, not recovery mode. If your phone can indeed go into download mode as you claimed, you should be able to flash any ODIN flashable ROMs.
Try flashing just a kernel with recovery

You didn't say what you were running before the problem occured. Or if you did anything just before. Need more information to be able to troubleshoot the problem.
You might try flashing Entropy's DD kernel only with odin. He has at least one tar in his DD thread OP.
It may be that one of the components, such as param.lfs is screwed, but it would be better to have more information first before just randomly trying to flash things.
You can find most everything you might need in the Download Repository.

Yeah sorry about the lack of info hehe! I made the thread about 20 minutes before I had to go to work and spent the hour before that trying to fix it hehe.
Anyways, I WAS running the ATT ICS leak that Task and Fenny packaged up with CWM. I WAS going to get everything backed up and attempt to move over to CM9 when it went to crap.
So far what Ive attempted to flash with Odin was the following with no luck:
Entropys 'Return to Stock' PDA.tar (the UCKH7_stock_odin with root)
ATTGalaxyS2Unroot_SGH-i777.tar
The leaked ATT Odin one click flasher from Rootzwiki (same results as using regular Odin with any of the above)
I did in fact also download the I777UCKH7-CL503881-Parts-NoBL.7z from creepys 'How to prepare your phone for return to the store' thread BUT..
The instructions tell you to unpack the 7z and then run the one click .exe inside but there is no .exe in the archive. Just the modem.bin, cache.img, image, factoryfs.img, and hidden.img. This would've been fine to try but of course Heimdall is every Mac OS users enemy and anytime I try to use the front end I get a 'missing firmware.xml' error and running it via command line just never connects to the phone.
Since Entropys return to stock package only has the factoryfs.img and zimage, sounds like I need to find a complete tar file that has all the other parts that creepy's has in it..
Last thing I did before going to work was updating the USB drivers on my Win 7 laptop to see if that would help, but since I can only use my laptop via Remote Desktop Connection from my Mac (display is dead) I had to do a Windows Update so I could get the laptop to restart (which I don't think you can do through RDC unless I missed it), and I had to run to work before it finished..
And I was STILL 10 minutes late hahaha!
So the laptop JUST got rebooted now that Im home, Im going to go see if theres also a newer version of Odin, and Im gonna go dig through the Download Repository and also check that Samsung Firmwares site to see if I can find myself a complete tar ball of the stock 2.3.4 firmware..
Ive got Saturday off finally so if I can't get it flashed and fixed by then I think Im going to bite the bullet and just take it to an ATT store and see if they'll swap it. Hopefully theres no 30 day policy, because Im pretty sure my Blackberry crapped out on me about 2 months in and they had no problem sending me another in the mail.. I REALLY wish I had my MyBackup done on my external SD card and not the internal one.. Gotta put another 40 hours into grinding in all my Zenonias to get back to where I was hehe..

Add me on gtalk and we can see what we can do [email protected]
At this point I don't know if anything will help heh.
All it will do is either sit on the GS2 boot screen, or it will go into Download mode.
Download mode though, no luck so far. Odin just won't flash it for some reason. It sees it, the COM port box lights up yellow, but the minute you hit Start, it just goes right to that error message I posted above. After this, I have to close both Odin and disconnect the phone and reboot it into Download mode.
I went through the Download Repo. Tried I777UCKH7-CL503881-Full.7z, and even the param.ifs by itself but everything just gives the same result. I didn't try Entropys DD though since I was running the stock ICS and didn't want to really mess anything up. Only thing I can think of left to try is flashing Task/Fennys CWM modded stock ICS kernel but after all this I doubt its going to work. I tried the stock rooted GB kernel earlier and it didn't bother flashing either.
Am I maybe connecting it wrong? I have the battery pulled and am going into Download mode by holding the vol buttons and connecting the usb cable to the laptop. I don't want to kill the battery power I have left as it won't charge now either. Basically I just fire up Odin, connect the phone and put it in Download mode, select my tar file and put it in the PDA slot, hit Start and go.. Should I be doing anything differently??
Whenever I've had a problem with Odin like that, it has always been that some partition got flashed wrong/partially/corrupted, and the only fix was to reflash the damaged partition. As long as Odin is seeing the phone, then it must be either a software/firmware problem or a hardware problem. I'm still thinking it is firmware, but it seems to be outside my experience.
I havn't been playing with ICS yet, but I have noticed that there have been a number of reports similar to yours, where people have flashed some flavor of ICS. This supports the idea that it is firmware. I have always understood that if the problem is firmware, and if the phone can boot into download mode, it can be recovered.
Yeah Im wondering if I should try flashing the PIT file I have for the phone, but I don't know crap about partitioning these things and didn't want to really mess it up.
Guess at this point its worth a shot. I was about to go sit and chat with the warranty folks at ATT (mines a refurb so Ive only got til the end of the month before warranty s up). Maybe Ill try the pit file and let Odin repartition the thing. I can't flash a firmware back onto it anyways.
EDIT: Holy crap progress.. I flashed the stock secondary boot loader with Odin (in the Bootloader slot) and that actually flashed. Now I just reconnected it and decided to try the ATT ICS leak one click from Rootzwiki and it appears my phone is now flashing!!!!! As long as my crap is still on the internal usb storage today is gonna be a good day hehe! Yep all is well so far! Phone just rebooted and its now at the ICS setup screen! WOOHOO!!! Crisis averted!! Thanks guys for the comments and help! Creepy thank you for reminding me we have that repository!!
I bought a sprint note 3 last night clean ESN but we couldn't get it activated, took it to sprint found out it was rooted, but had no sprint firmware on it.
ran root checker on it and it showed rooted. i can't get it back in to recovery
i get this message "
Recovery is not Seandroid Enforcing"
in download mode it says knox warranty void 0X1.
i've tried rerooting, and writing factory firmware on it in odin and it keeps failing.
it will write the CF-Root file and won't do much else
got TWRP on it and can now get into recovery.
does anyone have a flashable zip of the stock firmware and rom for this phone please.
tried to flash Vision X rom got message no MD5 file found
and you must flash your device kernel ?? i thought roms came with kernels....
i got the jelly bombed rom on it up and running now BUT it still doesn't have any sprint firmware on it.
so i still can not activate it. what it's missing is anything sprint. the wifi calling ect.
so how do i get all those files and how do i add them.
i found a stock file and installed it in odin and now i'm unrooted, but the phone still will not activate.
i tried to do an update on the software on the phone and it gives a message that the phone has been modified and can not update ???
i have no idea what to do now ... why can't i activate this damn phone it's all stock now.
the tar. file i flashed is 4.3 can i flash a 4.4 tar. filewith wifi calling in odin since it's not rooted anymore?
would that fix it ??
any help will be appreciated.... right no it' just a paper weight

Flash the stock tar or one-click, each located in the dev forum.
The OPs of each thread contain thorough instructions for upgrading everything to the latest stock Sprint firmware, baseband, bootloader.
Then, and only then, get the phone activated via a call to Sprint or hie yourself to the store for same. It should propagate quickly, and you'll be able to do all that which one can with a Sprint Note 3 on their network.
Good luck!

One click takes care of all that.

I found the 1 click, and wen't into stock recovery did factory reset, powered off, went into download mode and installed it with the 1 click.
it passed and it don't have sprint 4g splash screen on boot up and still won't activate.
it's still missing all the sprint files.
any ideas what's wrong.

None of which I can think at the moment. The one-click contains everything, and I believe that includes the carrier specific files. I may be wrong, but I believe it's an all inclusive factory image.
Just for kicks, what's it say for the model number behind the physical battery?

SM-N900P it even has a sprint logo on that white sticker
as i said in the other thread, i've been trying to activate on my online account, by switching service from my note 2
to this note 3 .
when i switch service over to this note 3 my online account says it's activated, but my signal bar on phone has the red X and no signal.
tried forced activation and same story with it.
just tried it again and the thing i have to agree to isn't from sprint it's samsung wifi.
following my online activation on sprints website i try to update profile, initializing application it what pops up when i touch it but nothing else happens, so it won't update anything.and i'm on wifi.

Sir micmars i found this thread with exactaly the same issue i'm having, you gave a solution at the end of this thread but no one posted if it worked of not, i keep trying all these different nc5 roms installing through odin and i keep getting that red X on my signal bar.
Did you do a full factory reset within the phone's os? A second important thing, since you mentioned a red x for signal. Is the original Sim card in the phone? Cards for Sim slots in sprint phones are not interchangeable like gsm cards are. The card is paired to the phone from factory. After a full reset, maybe go by a corporate sprint store that has, or can get, a replacement Sim card for your phone. This is the only thing I can think of after all you've said so far. If that doesn't work, then there could be some deep programming involved, ##data#, to get it back into shape. Flashing Roms won't change this deep parameters for a sprint phone. Either will factory resets. You might have got a phone that someone phucked with deeply or you might have bought an expensive paperweight.

the phone came with a new sim card, and we set it up with the phones IMEI on line and it went to the sprint store with that sim and they didn't mention it was an issue. will take it back to the sprint store tomorrow and see what they can do.
Took the phone to my sprint store and the tech messed with it for over an hour this morning and said **** it.
must have a bad radio or something in it, because it never would show my phone number.
the good news is he said, you'll have a brand new phone in 3 days. at no charge.
Lucky day for me. He even knew Knox was flagged.
