Just use titanium backup.

Uninstall sprint id with it.
Sent from my MB855 using XDA Premium App
Only problem is the name of it isnt sprint id....
Sent from my PhonyDroid
I downloaded bloat freezer and I froze it. Isn't that the same thing?
Go into titanium back up, then go to back up and restore. Scroll down and you'll find sprint id 1.?.?.? Press it and you can freeze or uninstall it.
Sent from my MB855 using XDA Premium App
Freezing it saves the app to restore later if need be. Uninstalling it removes it permanently.

Sprint ID is w_intaller.apk (or close to that anyway) in the system/app folder. If you remove it prior to triggering any downloads it's pretty straight forward to delete it. You will need to be rooted as you said you were. It's at the very bottom of the list.
Hope this helps.
you guys r quick lol u beat me to it. I did find out it is named sprint id. i had the thought stuck in my head of what sdx stock app remover was displaying for apps an i didnt find sprint id. For future reference an i take no credit for this... it is in fact named exactly as the app itself, sprint id. i used titanium an backed it up an uninstalled it an all is well. thanks for the prompt help guys. i hit the thanks button for ya both
No problem, glad you got it worked out.

is it safe to freeze 'sprint installer'?
Should be fine to freeze it. If it acts funny or effects the phone functioning you can always unfreeze it.

If you Root Explorer the apk is actually named w_installer.apk (or close to that, I pulled it out right away and don't remember the exact spelling). Titanium actually gives you actually name of the app not the name of the actual apk itself.
Also keep in mind that Sprint ID is tied into the stock launcher. Usability may be affected.
Does anyone have the apk backed up? I really need to put Sprint ID back in my phone before I sell it. Tried to flash a different sbf with rsd to get it back but it wouldnt work
I'll see how far I can get just using my Photon.

If you do a factory reset first, then flash 154_5 it should put it back.

If you have rooted your phone, you can do it with Titanium Backup. Just be extremely careful what you delete. I believe there is a list of safe things to delete floating around on the Cyanogen mod forum. Shouldn't be hard to find with inspector Google.
Bloatware would be anything that is not a stock android apk. Be careful not to delete anything that has to do with google or you will be sorry. I forgot the url but there is a master list of all the apks you can delete. Just google "android apk stock list"
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Its probably best to just move the apks into a separate folder on your sd card rather than deleting them. The that way if you mess up you can just move it back into the correct directory. Or if you change your mind.

to the OP, I gave instructions in the sticky if you want something to reference. I agree with ^, I used Root Explorer to copy all of the files and then pasted them in a folder on my SD card. Then went back to system apps and deleted them, rebooted, good to go. I also gave a list of everything that could be deleted.
Samsung galaxy sgs2

Hey guys Im sorry if this is not supposed to be here, But I really need some advice.
I just recently bought a SGS2 in Canada with Bell Mobility and I was able to root my phone so that I could unlocked it. However Since I did this every time I turn on my phone I get a Yellow Triangle with and exclamation mark. and also this mark is on the top left corner of my home screen but very tiny. Now the phone works like a charm nothing is wrong, but I want to know if there is some way I can remove that from my power up screen and from the home screen?
And my last questions would be, Now that I have unlocked my phone can I unroot it? or will this locked my phone again?
Thanks .

+1 Op this is probably the best way to do it. Plus if you ever need to put the apks back, all you got to do is move them back, wipe dex and cache and reboot.
One thing that I usually do is use TBPro to freeze it first and see if there are any adverse effects. Did you know that gTalk works with the market? If you delete gTalk, you may see some wierdness with the market. If you just froze it, then you can thaw it out and move on.
My question is can we delete the odex files singly or do they have to be deleted in pairs with the apk?
I have rooted my photon and wondering if anyone knew what to do to get swype 3.0? I know we have to delete the one that came preloaded which I believe we can do rooted right? TIA.
Just google swype beta, register, the rest is history. ;-)

Except that it isn't, because you have to disable the currently installed Swype in order to install the new one. You can't do that without deleting it, which in turn requires that you be rooted.

I did read his post. I also read your post. I actually comprehended both of them. My reply was intended to point out that you do, in fact, have to delete the old before you bring in the new, which was entirely missing from your concise list of rock 'n roll.

Oh, just for anyone else doing this you also need to delete libSwypeCore.so from /system.lib
I used root explorer to do this. Swype forceclosed on me when I did a reboot but had not deleted the libswypecore so I'm hoping this was the problem.
I was updated to the new market yesterday and today saw that Titanium had an update. Clicking on it opens screen that only allows for the app to be opened or uninstalled. I don't see any option to update.
How do we update with the new market?
Thanks,

I had the same problem when my market auto upgraded. I think what happens is that the market account gets screwed up and it doesn't allow you to update some things. Its fixable - you have to reregister your phone with the market. The bad news is the only way I could figure to do this was to clean wipe and start over. I suppose you could factory reset to. I bet there's an easier route - but I haven't found it.

Sorry, I phrased that incorrectly. I know how to get in there & change the permissions. What I was wondering is how they need to be set. Is it RW-R--R--? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I just don't have to do this very often & want to make sure I do it correctly.

This worked for me! Thanks guys for the clarification on setting permissions.
I thought I had this issue fixed, but it has resurfaced. I have the market telling me there is now an update for Handcent SMS, however it doesn't give me the option to update! I can only open or uninstall.
I tried the fix starflorida posted multiple times, but it just isn't doing the trick. Does anyone have an idea what's going on? Any suggestions or feedback?
There is a new version of the market rolling out today. Try clearing data and restarting market and see if that helps?

I was hoping to avoid that, just so i don't have to re-enter all of my info. But, if I can't get it straightened out, I'll give that a go.
I now have 2 apps sitting there waiting for an update that I can't complete: Handcent & Unlock with Wifi. If I click the app individually, I only get the choices of opening or uninstalling. However, if I click the button that says "Update 2", it looks like it will work! I don't get it.
Edit: I am currently getting the "Low on Space" message from my phone (I prefer not to put my apps on the SD card, if possible). Could this be the reason why I can't update my apps?
Clearing the market data seems to have worked as a temporary fix. It is no longer showing that I need to update any of my apps. However, I did not receive the latest market version. It is still the same version I had prior to clearing data, version 3.0.27
It will, when you least expect it! You can download an apk from Android central if you don't want to wait...

...that can restore another apps data from a nandroid. I play Mousetrap, a lot, and I swear I was about on the 9th chapter sorta thing. And then my titanium backup messed up the backup, and now I'm pissed. Because I have to start over. Lol. But when I try to restore that rom where the data was on, it goes into a bootloop, so I can't even get into it. Anybody know how to retrieve specific data from a nandroid?
Edit: Did not mean to post this in the Rezound general, meant for the Incredible forums. But oh well, still, can anybody help?

if you send him the apk it should notify him of a licensing issue with his account and bring him to the page on the market to purchase it.
however, I did a search for it also and nothing came up. may have been removed from market for some reason.
Titanium Backup Pro can restore apps from a nandroid now. with CWM 5 on the Dinc

Really? I don't have Pro, but I'll try that here soon, because even though app extractor worked for extracting the actual apk, it didn't get the data.
so here's what was wrong...
if you search market for "app extractor", it does not come up.
if you search instead for "appextractor", then it does.
