Hi, there are any way to unlock 256 MB RAM limitation on Huawei u8650.
Phones sold in Spain had 256 MB kernel limitation but Taiwan ones had 512MB RAM !!!
As you can see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5FXSwfvyMs&feature=player_embedded&t=43 it had more than 256MB
And here (Quadrant Snapshot) : http://cgi.ebay.es/Brand-New-Huawei...ellulari&hash=item3cbaf1 01fb#ht_8794wt_1210
Any progress on this?
there is no progres on this
but i am trying...
why would they put 512mb in but only give you 256mb? they surely have made a cheaper version without the extra ram
news for that?
I think this is impossible. If there was 256mb extra, I think any of the custom ROMs that have been appearing would have unlocked this feature. And neither Gorans Good rom, nor Benru's or ZAD's versions of cyanogenmod 7.2 have done this.
There is a model though, marketed in China as Huawei C8650, this one does have 512mb of ram.
For all I know, we are stuck with 256mb.
Cheers.
C8650 sold in China also have only 256MB of RAM, at least mine does.
170MB Ram in Huawei U8650 it's small
It's true! Here is the link en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huawei_Sonic#Variants please Copy link becouse I don't have permissions to get it

Hello,
I have a SmartPhone from an not very well known brand and I want to make an android update for it (from 2.3.6 to 4.0)
I dont want to change anything (no custom theme and no custom apps) i only want to create an update.
Because (i think) nobody knows this device i dont know how to start.
Device: AT-AS43D
specs:
Qualcomm Snapdragon, MSM7227-1 Processor
Runs android 2.3.6 very few customized by the brand
Dual Sim
WCDMA/HSPA 850/1900/2100, GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900
Flash Rom: 512MB
Ram: 512MB
Camera
Pixel 5MP Back, VGA Front
Zoom 4 times
Display
LCD 4.3inch 480*800 Pixels WVGA
Battery Li-ion accu 1500 mAh
and it has a 2gb micro sd card
Other questions?
Is ClockWork Recovery for every device?
(if no?) How is it possible to extract the stock rom without ClockWork?
I hope this is enough information
Kind regards,
Bas

I have made some progress, but I didn't have much time for it because of college.
Remember porting a new version of android can cost you a lot of time.
Sorry I can't help you much.

Bas
I have seen many different firmwares for this device but I am worried about flashing the wrong firmware and bricking my device. So could any anyone help me solve my issue and provide a link and instructions for the latest firmware for this device.
My specifications are

1GHz Processor
2GB Flash storage
1024 X 600 Resolution
10 inch LED Display
Hello Folks,
I'm not sure it is the best forum for my question but it is a start.
Well, I'm in charge of bring up Android on a new hard (actually old) it is a ARM 7 600 MHz with 256 MB RAM (possibly 512 MB RAM), 256 MB NAND, and 240x230 color screen.
It is not a phone. It is a device running a specific POS solution.
I would like to know a suitable Android version to use. Is it possible to run Android 6.0 and still have good/smooth user experience. I think Android 4.4 is my second option, If I have to downgrade to 2.3 I will be forced to upgrade my hardware.
What would be the best Android to port. Android OS? Cyanogen? Other mods? Which one? (I need security). Is there any license/legal issues using such distribution on my product ?
TIA,
Edgard
