Hello, Long story short, I bricked my Vibrant. NO DOWNLOAD MODE
I have put it in DL mode before, but I can't now.
Its a screen of:
a Phone...A Yellow Triangle with an exclamation mark !...and a Computer
You would just go "Hey put it in DL mode and flash ODIN"
No... I can't get into download mode anymore, whenever I hold down the volume key and power, the phone goes blank and back to the screen with the phone yellow triangle and exclamation mark.... nothing works. At all
PLEASE tell me how to fix this! ... if there is a fix!
I have heard of the JIG but I am nervous about this and I dont think I can build one.
Please, just tell me how to put the phone in DL mode or just tell me how to fix my phone dangit! thanks so much!! :/

You should be about to use Odin from that screen. It basically works the same as download mode.
Thanks! Okay, I put the phone it the yellow exclamation mark mode.
Odin Recognized it in COM7 and I put the PIT file and the PDA File,
but, the phone goes blank (black screen no exclamation mark)
Odin just sits there, unable to do anything and the phone is all the way blank.
Is it good that Odin recognizes the phone? Can i work from there?
Any Ideas? Thanks!!
If its any help, I was using CyanogenMod7 when this happened.
So I think I am on a Gingerbread Bootloader, If it helps at all,
I heard you jsut press volume up and power and then DL mode will come on,
It didnt in my case :/
Praise the LORD. I did not do anything myself.
I saw there was no hope in this situation so I got down a prayed.
Seriously guys, it works, I'm not saying this is a legit fix, but it worked for me.
I am a Christian who has devoted my life to God a long time ago.
This is proof he is mighty to do all things! (let he trolling begin, huh?)
Who cares.
Rundown of the Situation.
The phone would not do anything. Just sit there in that stupid ! screen and odin would recognize it, but it wouldn't flash back to 2.1.
I prayed, I hit a button I've never seen before, and it went "PHONE RESET!"
The Vibrant splash screen Turned on, and I battery pulled and Plugged the phone into the PC and the loading circle showed up.
I hit both the volume up and down keys along with the power button and the phone went into download mode.
I loaded the PIT and PDA/Tar file onto ODIN and clicked start.
As I type this my phone booted up and head the Tmobile Jingle!
Its fully working now, no brick.
God bless!
Matthew 19:26 -Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Just goes to show you, nothing is too big or too small for God to do something about it.
Psalm 55:22 Cast all your cares upon the LORD, for he cares for you!
Can I get an AMEN?

I wish I could put up a Hawaiian flag. So I could say "From Hawaii, lives in Ohio"
btw - I can't tell you how many times God saved my phone. Countless times I've seen the devil foot stomp my vibrant while I hopelessly sit by and watch in tears. Just to see the dark clouds open in my most desperate times and a bright light shine down upon my Vibrant. Sometimes its Macho Man Randy Savage that saves my phone though.

usb jig
you may use the usb jig trick using the 301k resistor but i should warn you that carelessness shall rather double up your phone.my warning is that you shouldn't let the resistor touch any other part of the contacts on your phone's board coz this would create too much of a short that can't be easily rectified and the final resort shall be replacing your motherboard...this is costly and sometimes you may lack to find the motherboard,so my warning, pliz be careful...good luck

Lol...don't expect to get an immediate response from someone. What you need to do is quite being lazy and do some quick research in the the Q & A section.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=849028
Now what exactly was it you were flashing? What GB rom did you flash? and was it a .tar file that you flashed along with the 512.pit file?
You should try removing your battery/simcard/sdcard and then try getting into download mode. Don't worry if the yellow android dude doesnt appear. As long as the screen shows some kind of error with a picture of a phone with an (!) mark well then you are good to go. Your PC should still be able to recognize your device. Try different USB ports. Just flash back to stock 2.1 using the guide above if you are able to get into download mode.
thank you, i did some reading and i think i need a jig to get back into dl mode. have tried a lot of different ways to get into dl mode before posting this. thanks for your advice. appreciated.

Here is the guide i meant to post. This guide will probably get your phone to boot.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=848737
Do you get any power at all? If so then that is a good sign.
Pull your battery and plug in your USB to your computer and open Odin. Do not have your phone attached to the USB yet. Now with Odin open and your battery pulled, (this part is tricky) Hold the Volume +/- and put your battery in and plug your phone in. You do not need to see the Android with the shovel to be in download mode. What you need to see is that yellow COM box in Odin. Once you see that then you are good to go.***See below
Few things:
It may take you a few tries to do this.
If you are not getting any power at all, you may have corrupted your bootloader when you prematurely stopped the install the first time. If this is the case, then sorry to say, but you are screwed and have hard bricked your phone.
Merio- Take it easy on the guy, he is in full blown panic mode and we have all been there. Remember when you got the Encryption Bug?
This is fromN00b_IN_N33D's MIUI guide but it'll serve our purposes here.
"SOFT" BRICKED WHILE USING ODIN?

If you are getting a "Phone.. ! ..Computer" image (seen above) when booting phone, yes, you are bricked but it is reversible! Just follow these steps...
Make sure you have ODIN OPEN with admin privileges!
1.) Take off your back cover, remove your sim & mirco sd card.
2.) Remove your battery.
Make sure you have the USB plugged into your PC but NOT your phone!
3.) Hold the volume buttons.
4.) Put the battery in.
5.) Put the USB in.
You don't necessarily need the download mode image to be present. As long as you are getting the COM ID to light up yellow in ODIN, just flash back to stock like normal.

Tried this when I had gotten home and still nothing. It must be hard bricked, can it be fixed with a jig or something else or do I sell it on ebay and buy another one?

Thanks for the help.
You could try to Jtag it (mobilcity something-use the search in Q&A or General and it shoudl pop up). Not sure about selling it on Ebay as you'll have to disclose it as bricked. Once you get a new one, come'on back and we'll take care of you.

I was also looking on ebay for galaxy s and sII. I found a listing that a guy had just posted for a sII. He wanted $280 for it which I thought was a steal, I went to take a shower and think about it and when I came back 10 minutes later it was sold. AI missed it.

Basically this is the default rom, along with spflashtools.
Unzip both to your harddrive somewhere.
Open the location you have extracted spflashtools and click on Flash_tool.exe , then, click scatter-loading on the right hand side, and point it to where you have extracted the rom.
Now, with your phone unplugged from PC/Laptop click the Download button in SPFlashtool. Click ok to anything that pops up.
Now, take the battery out of your phone, and insert the usb cable into the laptop, WITH BATTERY UNPLUGGED . Keep the battery unplugged untill the flash is complete, a little box with a circle saying OK will show after few minutes.
Try this, hopefully this will put you back to stock and you can try again
Cheers pal ill give this a try tomorrow. You're a legend!
And to the 90 views I don't mind as said its my own fault and can't blame the people who had ideas bet they get this all the time usually from noobs who require babysitting through the process ...
Anyways fingers crossed
Ok so its not working im getting the error in the following picture if anyone can help......
firstly sp flash tools just searches for the com port / usb when the battery is not installed ive tried various build of sp flash with the same results.
when i insert the battery it finds com 5 or 6 and goes to 100% of the red progress bar then i recieve the following error

Try downloading this rom
http://www.needrom.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/S4-6577_AIRGESTURE_I950X_V101En20130627.rar
You may to need to register with needrom
That ROM is the default MTK6577 Rom with air gestures
Do as i instructed earlier, extract the rom from zip, this time rename the folder as it contains special characters which may throw of SP Tools
i.e rename folder S4จาง6577_AIRGESTURE_I950X_V101En20130627 to mtk6577 or something.
Then load the scatter file, hit download and insert cable again with no battery , see if that runs now
also , here are the MTK6577 drivers if required

Ok so.......
again nothing without the battery installed just keeps searching and nothing.
witht the battery in it flashed got the green circle and everything.
but when i power up the phone i get a white display with black lines down centre.... occasional color bit
same screen when i try to enter recovery
meh not got my hopes up aswell
thnaks for the help guys really appreciate
is it worth trying to flash anything else or should i give up.....
OK don't panic.
First you should know there's plenty of S4 clones out there (HDC Galaxy S4, HDC Spark, Meso S4, unidentified Dual SIM S4 clone, etc., etc.).
Second you have to be 100% sure your system is properly set up.
If you or a friend of you has another MTK (better if MTK6589) smartphone check if everything works properly (drivers, flashing, etc.).
If not install everything properly and in a clean Windows partition without 300 USB drivers and devices.
Once you are done with what written above come back and we will see.
In the meantime upload a pic of the backside without cover and battery, but please be sure to hide the printed IMEI number.

Yes I could flash to a stock ROM and see what happens but are we sure that will not remove the pictures and videos?
OK I dont think that is going to be an option as my pc does not see the device attached via USB.
And when I have Odin running it cant see the device
Sudgestions?
1.It will surely not wipe photos, because you don't format the internal SD.It just removes apps,contacts...
2.look at my signature and follow my guide. If your PC can't see phone, then look for Hopper8's thread(link in guide or search on XDA)
Do you want your phone fixed or not ? I remember you from a couple of months back with that app that you refused to accept would only run on unrooted stock. And here we are fast forwarded a couple of months & again you're refusing to accept the advice/method to fix you've been given (which works & takes all of a couple of minutes; and if it doesn't work first go you look for Hopper8's 'Odin won't flash' thread).
You can either fix the phone or not. No skin off our noses either way *shrugs*

Hello everyone, posting here after a long time.
Getting straight to the business. Yesterday, I put my phone down and had a sleep. But in the morning when I woke up finding that the alarm had failed to go off, I checked my phone and was surprised to find it turned off. I tried switching it on but it won't turn on. I thought that the battery had died, so I put it to charge. But while booting up, the 5 LEDs lit up but the phone just won't go beyond the boot logo. So I just let it charge for some time and then forced restart it and went to CWM. CWM showed me numerous errors, like this while starting CWM

and this while mounting anyting or installing zip from sdcard
and this while wiping data
I tried changing the kernel using Fastboot but that didn't make any difference; instead after 3 attempts my phone was recognized as "???????? fastboot".
I'm totally stumped. I don't know what happened that my phone drained its battery and then refuses to go past the Boot logo.
So, can anyone help me out please? I was on Ultimate ROM v11 with Experimental v9.0b Kernel.
Thanks.

Try to flash Stock ICS via Flashtool! I hope that I don't need to describe you excactly what to do
@Imperial_Raj
Are you trying to make us break our necks? Rotate the images and make the reasonable size to read.
Try fastboot erase system, then try to flash.
And on more thing, were you late for work that morning?:silly:

I'm really sorry for the orientation of the images but my image hosting messed it.
And Fastboot doesn't recognise my device properly.
And yes, I was late for my school, lol.

Sadly, flash mode just doesn't work.
So what do you guys suggest? Shall I give it to Sony Service guys for a repair?

You can boot to CWM but flash mode doesn't work. how come?
If it's a hardware problem they probably will have to replace the MB which not going to be cheap.

press the power button for few seconds, until you get 4 vibrations. First one vibration and then continuous 3 vibrations. After that leave the mobile for few minutes, say for 10 minutes. And then try connecting it in fastboot or flashboot. If you can get into flashboot, just flash the stock ROM. and then boot it in to fastboot.
Well, I didn't knew what I did, but here's my solution.
I enter to fastboot mode (blue light) and flash a boot.img from a ROM, I flashed the munjenis kernel.
Then I flashed the eXperience ROM and installed it, no problem, but still stuck at Sony logo, well, after screaming because I realized I bricked my phone, I got an idea, flashed the FXP kernel and later on flashed the CM10 and it worked!
Doesn't get stuck anymore but Wi-Fi doesn't work, I think that is a ROM's bug.
You can try that.
Well guys, thank you so much for your responses.
I gave it to the Sony guys and they told me that the MB would be changed.
So, I bought a new Xperia SP and now Sola is just a show piece lying about in my house. Anyways, thanks a lot everybody.
I recently rooted my phone. Was going good until I softbricked it by editing 1 build prop setting. WARNING: Sprint users, I highly recommend you not modify build prop settings after rooting. Anyway I can get into download, recovery, and factory reset, but none of it works. I have tried almost everything, lg flashtool 1.8 works till 93%, phone reboots, Flashtool then says usb open port fail. factory reset fails. Can't try newer flashtool 2014, because of no kdz file. If there is away to convert .tot to kdz any help would be greatly appreciated. Attached is the blue screen that comes up.

I know what I did. forgot to set permissions. [emoji35] Guess I'm too used to Samsung.
Set permissions to what?
Yes I did. in LG Flash Tool use Board DL not the other. It worked perfect it boots into normal MiniOS and then you hold Power and push Normal Boot on the screen.

The guide I was following said nothing about changing action to board dl. I wasted 6 hours last night thinking it was never gonna happen. I got it back up.
the resolution to flashtool hanging at 93%, then rebooting to same blue "factory reset status 2" screen is in the attached picture in the left bottom corner. Make sure you change action mode to board DL, this caused me alot of headaches last night. Thanks to user thinh182009 for pointing out this minor lil troublemaker and allowing me to use his image.

It took a few times of trying, before it actually worked. A few things to try, redownload .tot file, try different usb cables, or even a different computer. Where did you get .tot from?
Also read THIS guide, very well written.
sent from my LG G3
Don't know if this works for everyone but it worked for me. Ok well i kept getting the blue screen and it wouldnt let me enter recovery mode or do anything it seemed like my phone was over heated the whole time and wouldnt cool down so i stuck my lg g3 without the battery in the fridge for like 15 minutes took it out then put the battery in and it worked!! but it only works for a certain amount of time until it starts to heat back up but maybe that will give you enough time, like it did me, to download all your files onto an sd card or maybe just to your computer and factory reset it. Hope this helps! It worked for me
SOLVED
I had the blue blue screen problem two weeks after the replacement of my broken screen in a LG G3 D855.
It get hot and the battery went down very quick.
I saw this video
ube com/watch?v=6IVFA_224Aw&t=236s
and realiced that the motherboard didn't seat perfectly in its place, so the conectors could make a shor circuit.
putting plastic and paper over de connectors and PROBLEM SOLVED. No blue screen, battery and phone working perfectly.
Regards.
