Hello all, I'm hoping I can get some help. I cannot get passed stock recovery to Clockwork recovery. I am rooted and have done this many times so I know that you have to reinstall packages to get there, sometimes twice, but I have done it repeatedly and it keeps going back to stock recovery. Any ideas?

Maybe install ROM Manager and reflash the ClockworkMod Recovery?
You may need to check if you are indeed rooted check by manually going into Download mode, if that works you may need to reflash CWM, if not then you may need to reroot the phone
I've tried going though rom manager and it takes me to the same stock recovery. Reinstalling packages isn't working. I used Odin, went back to stock, used samsung kies mini to update to Froyo, Super one click root, and then 3e recovery. I'm not sure if I'm musing something but I've fine all of this before and had no issues until now.

I'm also having a problem with this, but it didn't start until after I flashed CM7 for Vibrant. Now the i9000 boot up goes before the Vibrant one, as well as not being able to get into CMW.
I finally got into recovery, had to reinstall packages about 45 times. Thanks for the help anyway

Also i am getting random htc force closes. Does anyone have a stock rom with root permission? I just restored my first nandroid back up. It seems all the roms i try have issues, maybe its just me :/

Have you tried xtrSENSE? It's almost exactly stock. If you Nandroid restore stock you can even flash over stock with just a Dalvik cache wipe and keep all of your apps, settings, etc.
Xtrsence was actually the first rom i ever flashed. It worked great! I tried to flash back to that one but had issues. I have also tried gsb 3.9 and a few others i cant remember.

Edit* I dont have a nandroid of stock. Only stock rom with one click root.

Well, you can always flash the stock ROM and re-root it.
This is a stock ROM that keeps the custom Recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=984274 (if you read that first post, it had a link to engtools.zip, which you can then flash to get root on the stock ROM),
The Flashback_21 will bring you back to stock ROM and stock Recovery, which you can then re-root with the 1-click app (the one without the radio is fine): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=792026
Since you are having data issues, I'd wipe data/factory reset before flashing either one.
I had an Atrix on software 2.4.6. I unlocked the bootloader and installed CWM successfully, but it won't properly flash any ROMs. CWM fails to mount /system, and if I try to boot it just stays at the red M logo. Is there an easy way to fix this?
Did you have a nandroid backup ? If yes, try to restore
which ROMS have you try ? from internal or external sd?
I do not have a backup. I tried the latest CM7 nightly and jokersax CM9 from internal. Can flashing from external make a difference?

I have not yet, I'll try it as soon as I get home.
Update:
It does not work. CWM is still unable to mount /system. Should I just flash the 2.3.6 sbf?
I just flashed the stock 2.3.6 sbf with rsd lite, and that's working fine. Ill just start the rooting and unlocking over again.
UPDATE:
After flashing the sbf, i tried the process again and it failed. Then, I flashed the sbf again, unlocked, rooted, installed ROM Manager, UPDATED MY CWM, and flashed CM9. It works 100% fine now.

Recently i had been trying different roms using ROM manager. This morning i was using nightly from CM9 and from recovery i tried to install CM7
I dont remember having done any wipes as i thought it wasnt necessary no errors ocured but when i tried to reboot my phone it gets loop on the very first screen that is like samsung galaxy s2 and this yellow triangle. I cant acces recovery neither download mode, i dont know how to undo this but im gettin even scared of loosing my phone. Please help!
Can your phone boot into Samsung logo?
I believe Cm9 is an ICS based rom and CM7 is a GB based rom so they are quite different and probably require a full wipe before moving from one to another. Are you able to enter recover or download mode?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
The problem is moving from ICS to GB.
Just flash back CM9, assuming you can enter Recovery...
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
He can't enter to reco. Only DL mode.
So, you need to flash back stock ICS, root, full wipe and again flash GB.

Hi,
I'm currently on 10.1 ROM but I'd like to try the last old stock ROM by Motorola and then go back to my 10.1.
Which are the steps should i follow?
I thought
1) nand backup from recovery (to save my actual cyanogen unofficial epinte-olympus 10.1)
2)searching on the forum i found this . I think I can flash this stock from recovery right? (i'm not english speaking language). Or should I take this? But this second is not flashable from recovery so Is safe? if i flashed this second one i lost revocery mode so i can't reflashed back the 10.1??
Thanks in advice

Did you make an initial backup of your stock ROM right after you unlocked the bootloader?? If you did, then you should be able to restore that.
1. Go into recovery
2. wipe data, cache, factory reset
3. go to backup and restore
4. and restore the GB backup.
if you DIDN'T do a backup initially, then hopefully someone here has an answer for you, because I don't. sorry.

Flash a fruitcake.
are you en att user?
If you flash ThE att fruitcake, it wont let you go to cwm.
if you want to go back to to cm10.1 you might install with fastboot The CWM, and reboot into cwm before it boots to att. If you boot into att it will kill tour cwm.
So fastboot tour cwm, and reboot directly un cwm.
Every time you boot ib att 145 it kills tour CWM.

145 had a recovery that reflashes the stock recovery after flashing a custom recovery. You need root access to delete the file that causes that to happen, then custom recovery will stay. Somewhere here on xda there is a page that lets you flash 145 like a fruitcake. If you don't want 145, you can do 141 with no recovery issues.

i flashed the 145 fruitcake. the fruitcake is already rooted, right? so even the fruitcake flashed the stock recovery.
so there is a file to delete that stock recovery, besides de feuitcake itself?

yes. As i said, it will be in the system partition. I don't recall offhand what the file name/location was, but i do know there is a script called boot from recovery, it ties into what i'm refering to.
I believe 145 is rooted, but i was already rooted before i flashed 145.

The definition of a "fruitcake" is "100% untouched stock system", therefore a real fruitcake will never be rooted.
what about bootloader?
i read that someone removed the bootloader lock from 145 ota, so you can update from 141 to 145 and your bootloader wont lock.
so that is not a fruitcake anymore?

That would be the method i used to go from 141 to 145. There was a thread with the zip file of the ota that can be flashed via cwm. As i said, i'm not sure if its rooted or not, but its a fairly simple process. The bootloader remained unlocked when i used this method
Fruitcakes never include a bootloader.

So that means that the alternate method of upgrading from 141 to 145 via cwm is a fruitcake, right?
