I had an Atrix on software 2.4.6. I unlocked the bootloader and installed CWM successfully, but it won't properly flash any ROMs. CWM fails to mount /system, and if I try to boot it just stays at the red M logo. Is there an easy way to fix this?
Did you have a nandroid backup ? If yes, try to restore
which ROMS have you try ? from internal or external sd?
I do not have a backup. I tried the latest CM7 nightly and jokersax CM9 from internal. Can flashing from external make a difference?

I have not yet, I'll try it as soon as I get home.
Update:
It does not work. CWM is still unable to mount /system. Should I just flash the 2.3.6 sbf?
I just flashed the stock 2.3.6 sbf with rsd lite, and that's working fine. Ill just start the rooting and unlocking over again.
UPDATE:
After flashing the sbf, i tried the process again and it failed. Then, I flashed the sbf again, unlocked, rooted, installed ROM Manager, UPDATED MY CWM, and flashed CM9. It works 100% fine now.

Interesting. I'm guessing something in the update is causing it. I would try running the 1.13 ruu to try to downgrade. I think it will let you since you're s off. That should remove the new update. Then reroot and try flashing again, see if it works.

I was thinking that but why would 2 of 4 ROMs based off 2.3.4 work and they other 2 not? I had no problems flashing on 2.3.3. You mean downgrade and then upgrade again right and not re-root?
Is it possible for me to restore to stock without my laptop? I won't have it for a week. I'm unlocked and have Romancers recovery. I went from alien to CM7 and back to alien but when I tried wiping in CWM my build is still showing Alien.
Thanks

Dont panic its revertable.
Did you make all the necessary wipes?
Try booting in CWM and wipe your system, then install .zip again.
Also, flash twice the first time. or you might need the .3.1 beta from the fixes thread first.

Try This!
try flashing the newest version from jokersax.com. I take no credit for this and all goes to Jokersax the developer. I also love the miui rom which is what i use now.
Can anybody say detailed steps about cm9 installation which you already did.....? Pls

The way joker has it laid out in the op always works for me.
Root, unlock, flash cwm. (I use twrp)
Flash beta 0.3.1 from fixes thread
boot phone, check for signal
All good reboot recovery and flash latest with joker gapps 9 then 12.
Profit from the mad genius that is joker

WIPE DATA,CACHE,SYSTEM. DO IT TWICE IF NECESSARY. FLASH ROM. FLASH GAPPS. DO IT TWICE IF NECESSARY. GET FORCE CLOSE ON BOOT? FLASH 0.3.1. BOOT UP. THEN GO BACK AND FLASH THE NEWEST WITH GAPPS. DO NOT WIPE ANYTHING!
DONE.
if this does not work. there's some sort of user error. remember wipe wipe wipe.
I've been trying to get CM7 on my X2 unsuccessfully for about two hours, here's the process I took.
I saved all my stuff, and erased everything on the phone using the Android Recovery. I went back to 2.3.4 using RSDlite, then Root using Pete's Tool and installed OTA Protect. I then installed Bootstrap, installed recovery, went to recovery mode, installed CM7, and then GAPPs. Now, I wipe data, clear the cache, clear the davlik cache, and reboot. Now, this is where I just get stuck at the M Dual Core Technology Screen.
I searched the forum for answers, but I couldn't really my problem. It seems CM7 just isn't booting for me. I have tried this 2-3 times already, please help me out!
Why did you install ota protect? And make sure you are properly rooted and that the sbf worked... check your about phone screen to make sure... all I know is to sbf again and start from the beginning.
Edit: also did you install the patched bsr.apk for cm7?

I've had to sbf more thwn once to get my X2 to get up and running. I would say to try and sbf again and instal the patched CM7 BSR. If u have any other questions, u can always pm me and ill do my best to help u outout
STEEL BLUE CM9X2
SBF 2.3.4
Root phone
Install regular BSR
Flash CM and Gapps
Wipe data (not cache DATA)
Boot CM
Load BSR for CM7
You CAN NOT boot CM with regular BSR loaded , hence the wipe Data before booting.

Hi,
I'm currently on 10.1 ROM but I'd like to try the last old stock ROM by Motorola and then go back to my 10.1.
Which are the steps should i follow?
I thought
1) nand backup from recovery (to save my actual cyanogen unofficial epinte-olympus 10.1)
2)searching on the forum i found this . I think I can flash this stock from recovery right? (i'm not english speaking language). Or should I take this? But this second is not flashable from recovery so Is safe? if i flashed this second one i lost revocery mode so i can't reflashed back the 10.1??
Thanks in advice

Did you make an initial backup of your stock ROM right after you unlocked the bootloader?? If you did, then you should be able to restore that.
1. Go into recovery
2. wipe data, cache, factory reset
3. go to backup and restore
4. and restore the GB backup.
if you DIDN'T do a backup initially, then hopefully someone here has an answer for you, because I don't. sorry.

Flash a fruitcake.
are you en att user?
If you flash ThE att fruitcake, it wont let you go to cwm.
if you want to go back to to cm10.1 you might install with fastboot The CWM, and reboot into cwm before it boots to att. If you boot into att it will kill tour cwm.
So fastboot tour cwm, and reboot directly un cwm.
Every time you boot ib att 145 it kills tour CWM.

145 had a recovery that reflashes the stock recovery after flashing a custom recovery. You need root access to delete the file that causes that to happen, then custom recovery will stay. Somewhere here on xda there is a page that lets you flash 145 like a fruitcake. If you don't want 145, you can do 141 with no recovery issues.

i flashed the 145 fruitcake. the fruitcake is already rooted, right? so even the fruitcake flashed the stock recovery.
so there is a file to delete that stock recovery, besides de feuitcake itself?

yes. As i said, it will be in the system partition. I don't recall offhand what the file name/location was, but i do know there is a script called boot from recovery, it ties into what i'm refering to.
I believe 145 is rooted, but i was already rooted before i flashed 145.
Sent from my MB860 using xda app-developers app
The definition of a "fruitcake" is "100% untouched stock system", therefore a real fruitcake will never be rooted.
what about bootloader?
i read that someone removed the bootloader lock from 145 ota, so you can update from 141 to 145 and your bootloader wont lock.
so that is not a fruitcake anymore?

That would be the method i used to go from 141 to 145. There was a thread with the zip file of the ota that can be flashed via cwm. As i said, i'm not sure if its rooted or not, but its a fairly simple process. The bootloader remained unlocked when i used this method
Fruitcakes never include a bootloader.

So that means that the alternate method of upgrading from 141 to 145 via cwm is a fruitcake, right?
