Looks like it's capped at 10mbps as far I can tell on my local network
Nope, I've had 24mbps (download) on mine.
Got full speed here too. 15 Mbps.

Just doing a quick survey. If you could just state your location and your estimated average speeds on Verizon's LTE network, it would really help me win an argument.
Thanks!
About 16 kbps down and 5-6 kbps up here in Seattle.

I live in San Diego, where I live I get around 17 down & 6-7 up.
BUT, I work around the corner from Qualcomm, and I get around 29-35 down & 10-12 up at work.
It's nice to be REALLY close to where they test all the chipsets
I live and work around the Baltimore/DC area here are some of my results, the best one was in Columbia MD @ 25Mbps down.

What sucks the most about Verizons data isn't the speed, it's the dam data plans, you don't get very much data for money.

LTE speeds decrease fairly dramatically in relation to decreased signal strength, so trying to compare 2-bar measurements to 5-bar measurements is kinda pointless.
In DC, im seeing:
with 5 bars: 26-40 down
4 bars: 20-25
3 bars: 10-19
2 bars: 6-9
1 bar : 4-5
Here is mine in New York City.

Megabits.
(Mb) = Megabit (MB) = Megabyte
Mbps = Mega bits per second
32Mb = 4MB
So it would take 5 seconds to download a 20 MB file at the download speed of 32 Mbps.

So has anyone noticed that there is no 4g toggle. The only thing I could find was network types. I switched mine to cdma only. How would this affect battery life? Discussion on the LTE radio. Go.
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
There is a toggle it is for CDMA only or LTE/CDMA.

There was a discussion about the same thing for the galaxy nexus. Change it to cdma only for mild battery savings... maybe like 10 minutes more.

Yeah I saw that. I had it on cdma only all day yesterday and my 3g was nonexistent I put it back just ran a speed test and got 1.1 down so...I'm also in a first round market for LTE and our 3g has been all over the place.

@shellguy - Based on what the OP stated they did notice that you can switch modes. They're referring to there being a toggle like there was on the 4G and 3D.
@OP - You are correct that is the only way to "disable" LTE. It's been this way on all LTE phones though as LTE is meant to stay on once it gets going and only switch back to EVDO if there is no signal unlike WiMax which was meant to suplliment EVDO the same as WiFi does. LTE will have better signal penetration and coverage because of the frequencies it will be on so once you get LTE you can just leave it on unless you want to squeeze every ounce of juice out of your battery. Also since the LTE radio is built into the SOC you don't have to turn on a seperate radio which is what that toggle on the 4G and 3D is doing. By default leaving it on will give lower power drain when compared to WiMax but if you do toggle to just CDMA mode it will give even less power drain because it is no longer searching for an LTE signal periodically. Hope that answers your question.
So basically there is no 4G lte widget?

Difference in 3G speeds you saw was possibly due to you being connected to eHPRD and using the new NV backhaul too...
Check and see what kind of network you showed connected to.
