1.x is Froyo and 2.x is Gingerbread.
Remix means it's themed and Stripped means most of the Sense elements are removed.

I for one offered to help you, just not in this section. Telling people to F... off doesn't help either, in fact it's worst. While people are tired of getting flamed for posting in the wrong section people are also tired of sorting through Q&A threads to find threads that actually have to do with development, that's what we have sections for. I for one try to be civil with these sort of things, and while it's primarily the job of the moderators to move and or close threads as community members we have to police ourselves as well. The rudeness on both sides should stop, but....people should post in the correct sections too
Edit: I see the mods moved the thread, all is well that ends well.

For all we know they may be working on a root method but with the lack of success of Gingerbreak and other one-click root methods I would guess that they, like many others, are having a hard time finding a useable exploit...

Agreed, takes 10 posts to post in dev section. His 11th post is this crap!
I've been a member here for a long time, but do not speak much as most questions I would have about any of my devices have clearly been discussed.
I also understand where new members would not know much about whats going on at times, but its nothing more than a simple search. I (and all other members new/old) have to search like everyone else. Its really not hard.
Its also believed with the great devs that are doing what they can (and I THANK YOU for that) to get root available for our device. I'm SURE they will have something up (as in a new thread) that they have achieved what we have been waiting for. Its going to happen. Be appreciative that we even have devs that are making the time to find out all that they can. Without them, we'd be in a world of hurt.

Think of "development" like a business...professionalism is important in business, no? There is a job that is being done here.
If you are looking for the tavern take it to General, if you are looking for the visitors assistance center take it to Q&A. This is all spelled out in the rules. If you have no "developing" to contribute to the "development" please take it elsewhere.
Posting non-development related posts is like showing up drunk to work, and your post is like an even drunker guy proclaiming how BS the professionalism is at said business.

Did it occur to you that maybe if Revolutionary worked on HBOOT 1.5, that the thread concerning HBOOT 1.5 might actually say this? Is that not enough of an answer for you? Were you expected a tailor-made response from ARX? Guess what; the world doesn't revolve around you or that phone. When they figure it out, if they figure it out, you will know right away. If that's not enough, I can use the search function (something that someone who is not a "noob" should know about), and show you several more threads were there's the same question and the same answer.
It's not really anyone else's problem if you can't A) Read, B) accept that the answer is just "not yet" or C) use the search function. So calm down with the ego a bit, eh?
I don't think I've seen anyone stupid enough to admit they posted in the wrong area without even bothering to search, but still have the gall to mock someone else who's telling you otherwise. This is what's killing XDA. It's one thing to help out new people and do it politely, it's another to help out an egotistical jackass who admits he broke the very (VERY) simple rules of forum structure and didn't both to even search for it. This post belongs in the Q&A forum and you will find what you are looking for in the General forum. Look for mpgrimm2's thread about bootloader differences and my post in that thread with many of the bootloaders, including the one you requested.
And please read the forum guidelines and post in the correct one next time.

Why help? This is a community that's built on helping and learning (at least its supposed to be). I spent months asking stupid questions and then I got to the point where I could start helping. We need to let the mods sort out where the posts belong.
If I were on vacation and went to a gas station to buy beer and I didn't see any on the shelves, I might ask the clerk if this is a dry county. They would say yes or they'd say no we're out. I wouldn't expect the clerk to say "go do some f..king research".
First: Google is your best friend. Please use Google first. This thread is being created for new and old users alike. It's only purpose is a safe place to ask those questions you feel may be too stupid to ask anywhere else.
Second: No question is too stupid. Any question asked here shall be deemed a good question because you were smart enough to ask it.

Not.to be argumentative but.... My son has the LG thrill and his clock is randomly changing times on him resulting in him being late for work on one occasion. I haven't been able to figure it out yet (though i really haven't spent that much time trying yet) and don't want to resort to flashing a different Rom on it. so i could see asking a question like that in the near future if i don't figure it out. ( obviously in the thrill forum)

Ultra noob here. I got my phone on kijiji and it was already rooted and flashed to work with Wind Mobile(Canada). The phone is originally from Rogers.
Here is what I get from phone info
Model number - SGH-I717R
Android Version - 2.3.6
Baseband Version - T989DTLKJ3
Kernel Version - 2.6.35.11
Build number Gingerbread.248
I am not sure what exactly has been done. I would like to upgrade to ICS and still have it working with Wind Mobile. What do I do? Where do I begin?
