Evo dials wrong number - HTC EVO 3D

Ok this is kind of a weird question but i hope someone can help. When i dial my girlfriends number sometimes my phone actually calls a different number. When its dialing her number her picture and number are on my screen but my phone dials this random number that i dont even have saved in my phone. It normally only dose it when her phone is off or has no service. Its always the same number and when the person calls me back there number shows up on my screen. My phone is not rooted. Dose anyone onow what calls this

Strange. If this is a common issue, I'm sure they will roll out an OTA fix. If it isn't, I would take it to a sprint store to get it looked at.

My girlfriends phone is the problem other people have tbe same issue when callin her sumtimes. I really dont know what to say to sprint when i take it in. I guess turn her phine off and dial her # and let sprint see it

Check her forwarding settings. You said you get this when her phone is off. Somebody is probably pranking her and set her forwarding on and some random number.

[Q] How to return Vibrant with warranty?

I have ATT and not T-mobile I want to get the same phone
i have warranty
can i call them and tell them it bricked or do i have to be a customer?
I did this with my G1 but i had tmobile at the time
You have to be a tmobile customer, because they ask you for your account details while doing the phone call
I know my Dad opened an account for my uncle
could i call them and say that my uncle had the phone and give them the account details?
Call Samsung instead as they do not require a t-mobile account. You have a year warranty with Samsung.
I already did
they just fix the problem not replace the phone

You have to be a customer. When you call they have to verify its under warranty, troubleshoot then if necessary replace if warranted. And all that cant be done without the phone being used on an active line. I know this for a fact because i work as csr for t-mobile

It will work, but only if the warranty check on the imei comes back as still under warranty. But if your uncle has php on his line, then it will work.

Technically you are right. But since OP is not a T-mo customer it absolutely wont work. Let's say if someone who is a customer of t-mo bought the phone and then sold it to someone else. If the phone was still under warranty the new owner could use the warranty if the original owner was willing to talk to customer care for him so the customer rep could go into the account to verify the phone is still under warranty. I've done that for a few customers. Its kind of a ***** of a process though. Since the OP's uncle isn't the original owner and OP isn't a t-mobile customer it wont work. Sorry dude!!

True, but if the uncles line has the extended warranty, and is using the vibrant at the time he calls in, then technically he can get an exchange if troubleshoot calls for it

Insurance is another thing, its the extended warranty that matters. But he has to be using the vibrant prior to calling in for an exchange.

You would need to unbrick the phone. Have your uncle use it for a few days. Then you would need your uncle to all customer care (because he is the main account holder) and say he is having issues. Like phone randomly shuts off. doesn't really matter. Then you should be able to get a replacement pending he has lifetime warranty.

Yes, you actually have to call VZW and have their rep set it up. Had a similar issue with the number of rings before going to VM. The rep resolved the issue for me, although I had to explain how Google Voice works before he understood fully what needed to be done.

##72786# will not erase your data (apps, etc.)
##786# will do a factory reset.
You will need your MSL.
Been having 4G issues too. They're claiming nationwide 4G connectivity problems. the code they had me use is ##3282#. From there go into "Data Profile" hit menu and then "Restore". It goes through Hands Free Activation when it boots up.
##72786# was the one I was lookin for thx

Be careful ... we ARE known to get things right.
Of course we get things wrong too, like a phone being "DBR" or "LD".... LOL !
If you need the definition of those 2, shoot me a PM and I will tell ya. PM your phone number while your at it.
J/K ... it takes a lot to be a tech, whether it is a Repair store or on the phone.
It is hard to imagine the staggering numbers of " dumb " people owning smart phones.

Your right Ruff ... it is a shame when a " tech " can't provide an answer to your legitimate questions. It reflects poorly on those of us that go the extra mile for our customers and can provide the correct answers.
You can help us (techs) by providing as much info as you can right at the beginning of the conversation and asking for it to be acknowledged... but if the tech doesn't listen or acknowledge your info ...by all means ask for a supervisor.
Most of all stay calm and collected, we do have an " eject this ***-hole button ".
The techs that answer your call live in a " cube city " while at work, and unfortunately, do no have a chance to work with as may devices as the techs that are in a repair store.
Question ...have you done a Profile and PRL update on your phone ?

I just literally called now spoke with a Brandy(sp) and got the msl for my photon and my sons epic which neither I own outright.
I would try back again and like stated in the thread if needed lie and say you need it for developing purposes.
I just asked for the msls and was given them. no questions asked
Tell them you didn't like it and are going to sell it and you need the MSL to try and activate on Cricket.
The first time I called they said I couldn't have the number while I was still under contract. They said if I really needed the number then I had to pay the 200 dollar cancellation fee. I said no thanks, I don't need it that badly. I hung up and called back up and asked the new rep who was more than happy she could assist me.
Get your MSL EASY....
I work for Sprint and worked at a call center for sprint in the PAST!! all you have to say is my phone is not working and was told that I need to MANUALLY PROGRAM the phone, they will tell you to type ##*****# (the * are your MSL ...) then your PHONE number then your MSID... most of the time they will try and get you to just update the profile and just tell them it didn't work...
That's it!! VARY EASY!!!
give me a thanks if that helps...

You won't be able to reactivate the old one anyway...as soon as you make a claim, it puts the old device on the negative list for activation, so the IMEI will be disabled by Verizon.

Most insurance plans require a police report to be filed for the lost phone, so you'd have to falsify that as well. Doesn't like a good idea in general.

If someone tells you they can get a phone off of the stolen phone negative list, they either work for Asurion (and they're acting illegally), work for a VERY specific team at Verizon (and puttng their job in jeopardy to make $70), or flashing a different IMEI to the phone (which is illegal and causes other problems down the line). All phones on Verizon are indexed, meaning that the company has a record of each phone's serial number, and that's what's allowed on the network. If a phone is in the "negative" index list, it can't be activated unless it's moved on to the regular list, and the only people that can do that are Verizon employees on the indexing/inventory team, or Asurion reps who have to go through a pretty long process to have it re-indexed.
On a GSM network, none of this is a problem, because the only thing the network cares about is the SIM/ICC number.
