if you can, try an RUU for the phone...it will load the system back to it's original factory settings...if you're familiar with ADB make sure your device is recognizable thru there and try flashing the phone manually back to factory settings

please any help
welcome to the club my friend... spoke with sprint today about this issue after they send me a new replacement phone for this issue and this new phone is doing the same thing still.. keeps rebooting and or shuting off requiring a battery pull to restart it. Sprint says they are aware of the problem and it is not a small issue affecting only a small number , its wide spead. they are awaiting a fit in a patch from HTC but there is no eta . they also suggested i monitor the HTC website for the fix
thanks i thought thats from my device only
please tel me if they fix it
any news? still same issu
Mine's not doing it that frequently, but it seems to be at the most inopportune moments!
My second Shooter (first one had a dead pixel) had the same issue and even though it wasn't often it was ANNOYING. I ended up having to swap it out for a new one and this one hasn't been giving me any sort of rebooting issues (once or twice when OCing; but that's expected). If it is software related flashing the RUU like someone else mentioned may help out; it'll set everything back to default straight from HTC.
If you're unlocked w/ the HTC method you'll have to relock first but then run this on your PC w/ the phone attached and follow the steps:
http://www.multiupload.com/09NOXKCUN0
^That's the latest RUU installer and should work for you.
Report back what happens; I'm curios about this myself since I never did an RUU reflash (was noobish in mind then) with my last device but if it fixes the issue it would make a LOT of people happy.
Peace.

i need to flash rom from recovery mode
have another file for this
Related
My fried recently rooted his 3D (14hboot twrp2.0) and the phone keps randomly restarting on him. We have tried installing various ROMs thinking that some of the files may not have installed correctly.
One of the ROMs we tried was Eternity which i use on my 3D (1.4hbot, twrp 2.0) and I do not have random restarts with my phone.
Was hoping someone might know of a solution or where to find a solution to fix his problem. Thanks for any help.
Seems to be a common problem. here was just a thread about this. Would happen to me on any rom and even back to stock ,unrooted. I Narrowed my problem down to something to do with Sense. I stopped using it and it stopped happening. But that was just my phone.
Try using ruu an make sure to super wipe an install Roman depending on cdma or gsm phones

My phone was having a similar issue. It mainly happened when it was plugged in. I narrowed it down to an issue while the phone was charging. It just died totally and will no longer boot. Replacement is on the way.
a few things you can try....
flash a ROM that you know works on your own phone with no issues.
remove SD card from phone (while it is off obviously) and boot up. if issues persist.. proceed to next step and put SD card back in.
after you do that, flash new radios... look in the dev CDMA section (and if you are GSM ignore this part entirely) and flash freeza's all in one radio update... it is post 31 or something like that... 33? don't remember, but it is a zip that you apply through the boot loader.
off the top of my head those are two immediate things you can do which might fix it.
I'll give those a shot.. Thanks for the help.
I bought a used Sprint HTC EVO 3D in ebay, knowing it had a boot loop problem as described by the seller. Before buying, I researched to see if I can possibly fix the issue, and at that time I saw a few ways to do it. Unfortunately, now that I have the phone and tried those ways, my phone is still stuck in a boot loop.
This is what I've done so far:
1) Received the phone w/ HBOOT 1.5 (unlocked using HTC method).
2) I tried to flash TWRP 2.1.1, TWRP 1.0.3, ClockWork Mod 4.0.1.4, ClockWork Mod 5.8.0.1, and 4EXT RC3. The flashing seems to work as indicated by fastboot (it says OKAY after flashing).
3) I tried launching the recovery via fastboot command line and also tried launching recovery via power cycle while holding volume button down. Neither method allowed me to get to recovery. I would see the HTC logo, and then boot loop.
Other things I've tried:
1) Relock the phone.
2) Run the latest RUU (Sprint 2.17.651.5). I also tried the PG86IMG version. Flashing seems to succeed either way. But when I reboot, boot loop is still there. ROM doesn't boot.
Other things I've tried:
1) With the relocked phone, I did the HBOOT 1.4 downgrade and was successful downgrading.
2) I ran the RUU (Sprint 1.13.651.7) after the successful downgrade as described in the downgrade method so that I can try the Revolutionary S-OFF if my ROM boots.
3) The RUU succeeds, but the phone is still stuck in boot loop. ROM doesn't boot.
Again, the only thing that seems to work is fastboot commands. Adb commands don't work since the ROM doesn't even boot up.
I'm not sure if there's anything else I can do with the phone. I'm thinking now this may be a hardware issue. But before I send it in to HTC, I'd like to get opinions from the experts out there to see if there's anything else I can try.
Thanks!!!
none
Try to plug it into your computer, open a command prompt and type.
"adb reboot recovery"
Just like you see it, that should get you into recovery so you can flash a new rom onto it. And if you can swing it, by a new one next time lol
As stated above, adb commands won't work since you need a bootable ROM in the first place.. My EVO 3d reboots right after the first HTC logo pops up.. I've also tried launching recovery via fastboot command line and via power cycle and holding volume down button and selecting recovery. Both methods just reboots the phone and reboots over and over til I pull the battery out.
exact same problems, any help?
i have the exact same problems as Alpine Man.
tired everything, and i was hoping that if i downgraded to hboot 1.4, everything would be ok in terms of bootloops, but no =[
Can anyone shed light on this, software issue? hardware issue?
Anyone have a solution for this? or just send it to htc/
Have u tried installing new custom Rom?
I can't remember the creator's name but the file name is EVO 3d v2. I used the file to fix my bootloop. It's actual use is to relock ur bootloader back and it also install the ruu file. But it worked for me.
It might help u too. Maybe give a shot.
Sent from my AWESOME HTC EVO 3D. Click THANKS if u find my post is helpful.
I tried everything... And nothing fixed it. I finally sent it to HTC. They replaced the motherboard and all is well again.
i've read almost every guide availble regarding bootloop problems. my sister's evo 3d has no problems whatsoever. mine won't boot for anything!! have to go to work now but i will try it when i get home. if that doesn't work i'll probably have to send it in too.
alpineman - does the 1 year manufacturer warranty transfer over when you buy the phone used off ebay? i got my phone in great condition on ebay, with no mention of bootloop problems =[ . i'm not with sprint. i bought the phone hoping to flash it to metro. do i call htc instead of sprint? i'm not really sure how this warranty thing works.
any help is greatly appreciated thanks!
HTC did not ask for receipt, proof of ownership, or whether I had an active Sprint contract. They went by the serial number to determine warranty status. This is the 2nd HTC phone I had to do this with. Both times, no warranty problems whatsoever.
that's great! if all else fails, i'll give them a call on monday. thanks for the help!
good news! Come came back from HTC with new motherboard, boots up nicely now. I haven't done anything to it yet.
Bad new: the battery cover doesn't sit nice and flush anymore, its kinda crooked
It's sooo minor i almost don't wanna bother with HTC, but physically it was mint when I sent it in.
Need help
Hi can any one help, I am trying to gain S-Off on my Evo 3D, hboot 1.49.0018, I have Htc sync driver (Sync Un Installed)
adb devices command works fiine and gives me the serial number
but any other command with adb or fastboot it stucks on waiting for device.
Please Please Help me.
Regards,
Some of you might have seen my earlier thread, my ReZound is rooted. HTC sent out the ICS update my phone attempted to install it and afterwards it would not advance past the white HTC screen. After many hours of playing around with it (being semi-noobish to all things rooting, but decently knowledable with technology) I realized that on the H-boot screen it was telling me that the Image was missing. I assumed that the HTC update deleted it? After thinking about it, I thought that maybe installing a custom ROM would fix this, so I grabbed Scotts Clean ROM. Sure enough I did and I was finally able to advance past the white HTC screen. It looks as if everything is working fine with the phone now EXCEPT I have no data and no calling connection. Im assuming that my phone is just that messed up from the attempted upgrade this morning that im missing files needed for the connection.
My next thought was to just say heck with it and do a factory reset hoping to get back to a bone stock phone that at least functioned, but when I try the factory reset it doesnt work....
Any ideas of what I should do next? Ive spent 5-6 hrs trying to fix this phone today, I really hope to get something figured out. Thank you everyone for your help!
EDIT: I feel like an idiot... Because of putting the battery in and out for resets I left the back off the phone. I now have service. Main issue now is that when I try to call out, as soon as I type a number on the dialer it freezes up and restarts itself....
The phone still tries to look for the old image on the restart and gives me issues every time on startup still also. Id like to be able to get this back to not needing a ROM....
If it were me, I would download the official RUU for ICS found here: http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...cream-sandwich-ruu-for-final-ota-3-14-605-12/ IIRC, mirror #3 was the fastest. Then follow the directions from that site:
After downloading the file, rename it to "PH98IMG.zip" (no quotes)
Place the renamed file onto the root of the SD Card
Power down your device
Reboot into the bootloader by holding VOL DOWN + Power
The flashing process should begin automatically
Let the device reboot, and you should be done.
That will get you up and running. Then you can go about rooting it again if you like.
I know there are lots of posts about bicks, but after a week searching I could not find any fix for my problem.
I have a S-Off, rooted GSM Evo 3D running Yoda ICS ROM and 4ext Recovery. One day, I was charging it when it hung, I restarted the phone, but it went directly to the bootloader (I didn't touch anything), as I was unaware of what was happening, I simply power it off (using the menu option), when I tried to power it on again, I got no success, only a dim red light appeared, and it is this way eversince.. I cannot power it on, go to the bootloader or anything, the computer recognizes it as QSUSB-DLOAD but there is no partition on it (I tried both Linux and Windows). I tried some unbricking methods without success. I am in Brazil, I tried to call HTC but they said I have to send the device to the origin country (mine is from Rogers, I believe it is Canada), but I don't even know where to send and I'd prefer to fix it by myself if possible. I am open to suggestions anyone could help?
Thanks a Lot!!

Does adb detect the device?
In that case you could try to run a ruu...
If he can get it into recovery mode then yes. Most of the time its usually something that the end user has done to make it get bricked. I am not saying he actually did something. We also don't know what he has done with his . Phone changing your cid is a good way to brick it. Pulling the battery during a ruu update, flashing a CDMA firmware etc things like that are guaranteed brick makers. However there's only one solution I know of should you not be able to boot into recovery. Try and Google up JTAG. I'm fuzzy on the details about how it works but it can restore your hboot. If you know somebody that knows how to do it, that's your best shot. Otherwise, you will have to send it into HTC Canada or you could try to buy the JTAG hardware and learn how to use it to restore your phone. If anybody has a solution for him please feel free to chime in. Sorry about your phone though. I wish you the best of luck on getting it restored.

No, it does not detect the phone. I was searching more thoroughly and found some places here in Brazil that do jtag repairs, I think I will give it a shot.
Thanks!

Just to let you guys know, I did the jtag repair and it worked for about a week, I put back my cfw and yesterday, out of nothing it stopped work again. It was working normally, I left it on the table, checked the time and went do other things, later (about 2 hours) I took the phone to set the alarm for the next day and it didn't turn on...
If someone has any ideas, I appreciate!
Thanks in advance.

Try using this to unbrick the phone (aimed specifically for DLOAD error, but has worked for other cases): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1522351. Afterward, use a combination of both the official instructions from Unlimited.io and this video tutorial to achieve S-OFF. The instructions give you an idea of how-to, the video actually gives you a better sense for the timing. The timing is very specific that needs to be done just right (might take quite a few times to get it done).
If you have an HTC Evo V 4G with Virgin Mobile USA, then you can use this flashable RUU to return to stock (I extracted this from the RUU.exe; just ensure that your bootloader is LOCKED. You can check this by Holding Pwr+Vol Down during boot; top of the screen should say LOCKED). If your phone skips loading into your bootloader and boots into the main OS, pull the battery to bypass quickboot (or turn it off in the settings). To flash the RUU, move the file to the root of your SD card, boot into bootloader, and follow the directions on screen.
brick evo 3d
when i update mwakiousSGS2rom_v.3.0.03 to my evo 3d . this is my bi mistake .and after that my mobile is of ..so pls what can i do .help me
Hello. I have a Sprint M9. It had been acting flaking lately (I would try to install the latest update, and it would reboot without installing and report that the phone had recovered from an error and ask if I wanted to send to HTC). Tonight, I was trying to use DLNA to play video from my phone to my TV, I was in settings and gave DLNA permission to access my storage. As soon as I did that the phone rebooted without warning and continues in a loop of displaying the HTC logo, then restarting over and over.
I can get into bootloader, download, and recovery mode by holding down the volume down key. I have tried Wipe Cache Partition and Wipe Data, but the phone still will not get out of the loop.
Phone is stock. I have never tried to root or disable S-on or load my own recovery.
What, if anything, can I do to get my phone working again?
Just tried doing what I think is called RUU? I downloaded the .exe from this site:
http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-m9-sprint/news/
It found my phone, and rebooted into download mode. It tried to flash my rom, but shortly after trying to send the file (progress bar jumped from 0% to 100% in 1/2 second). The utility gives me a Error [155]: Unknown Error. I've tried a couple times and get the same problem each time.
The utility reports I have version 3.41.651.21 and tries to flash to 3.41.651.31
Great, now it is telling me my software has been modified. (it hasn't) The only things I've done is run the RUU and reboot into recover to clear cache/data. Bad NAND?
Well, found out why RUU wouldn't work. Low battery. Apparently it ate a lot more battery than I realized while it was in the reboot cycle. Tried manually flashing the firmware and fastboot told me the reason it was failing. C'mon HTC, if the CLI can tell me there's not enough battery to proceed, your GUI utility should be able to as well.
Still leads to the question of:
- Why did this happen in the first place
- This is actually the second time I've had a problem with OTA, with the phone thinking the system had been modified. So either the OTA failing somehow modified the system before failing, or there's a bigger issue afoot. (as noted above, this phone is stock, I've never tried to root, install a custom recovery, or anything else)

Same thing happened to me. The update that Sprint pushed last Wednesday completely bricked my HTC One M9. Same failure mode that you experienced. Sprint technical center was unable to do anything with it, so they are replacing it, allegedly ( been waiting a week for said replacement ).
I talked to a few other people who had the same problem, by the way. Someone in Sprint's QA team completely dropped the ball on this update.
Well, even after RUU it says my system has been modified and the phone will no longer boot into recovery. Just errors back to Download with the message that recovery couldn't launch.
I've also now got intermittent problems with the com.android.settings crashing. So I've thrown in the towel and purchased my first non HTC phone since the original Windows Mobile days.
Hello there. The same problem has come to my mind and the phone has been off for almost a month. Did you solve your problem? If you could solve it, how did you do it? I sent you above the original stock rom set. Nothing changed. The phone developer rum works. but the original 0pja200 rom is starting again.
my phone soft bricked, unlocked bootloader and S-off. Whether it is possible without blocking bootloader flashed RUU rom?
