[Q] Screen Burned Images - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there an app out there that "cleans" the burned images from your screen?
Hope it's not to late lol I just noticed it the other day ):

If you have the status bar burned in the screen and you where using a rom with a black status bar, flash zendroid rom with AOSP theme or bionix frost. The white theme won't erase the burn in but it'll even it out.

I have the stock MIUI(Revamped btw) lock screen burned in.

I didn't know this was even possible. I been playing coin dozer for the past week and I leave the game on all day plugged into my PC because the game regenerates coins faster in the game than if you close the game. I don't play it just let it sit and thats for at least 6-7hours a day straight 5 days a week and I haven't seen any type of "screen burn". How long do you let the lock screen sit on for, lol?

I have "virus" burned in my screen from too much Opie and Anthony on xm radio. Only visible on a super bright screen, but its still there. Can't do anything about it.

Ghost image on screen

Hey... what could be happenin with my vibrant? if i open a keyboard on a grey screen (like msn talk or.. something grey ), the keys remainds for a little bit (not at full color, just the silhouette). It's not annoyng but.. i think that not all phones do this
Check for burn in.... I am getting my vibrant replaced within the next week (when they send it) because of a large C on the middle of the screen.... It only shows on grey or brown screens... Go to the market and search for jscreenfix and download it and there is a screen checker too.... Best of luck

but is not a burn in.. because i try with all screen testers.. and there's not any burn image.. just a second when i put the keyboard or something on a grey color screen
My phone did something similar, i was test my gps after doing the GPS Fix. Was using GPS Test by Chartcross. and i let it sit for maybe 20-30 minutes, cause i forgot about it, and when i went to close the app, the image was burned into the screen, took atleast 5 minutes for it to clear up. Is this the sign of the AMOLED's degrading? Cause thats what i read about them before i bought this phone that the organic material in the display is prone to degradation.
If this is the case, phones only, what 8 months old? if this keeps up, my screen might fail before my upgrade is due.
you have to go with hours of use not months. Either way, sometimes amoleds can be slow in clearing images that are on the screen along time especially, if the the phone is always being used. To question a burn in image you need to test for that specifically

[Q] [q] help - screen too dark

Gtab worked fine for 3 months. Now when I turn it on, the screen it is too dark. I can barely see anything. Is there anyway I can get the brightness/backlight back on?
Can't get to settings because I can barely see anything.
Hope screen backlight didn't burn out.
Are the initial boot screens well lit? If so, it's not a hardware issue, its probably a wonky UI issue. If the boot screens are dark, then it's probably hardware as you mentioned.
If it's dark, try a dark room to view it. If you can see the screen in there, check the settings and see if turning on / off Auto Brightness helps. Worst case, a data wipe or re-flash (again, if you don't think it's hardware).
You should have a brightness button on your power control widget. If you look at it on a dark room you should be able to select the widget way easier than fumbling through menus . Good luck

Even in a dark room, screen is still too dark. I can see only very faint images, but not enough to see any settings or any icons clearly.
I did order another one from Woot, which I'll get 3/31. Looks like I'll be taking it apart to troubleshoot soon.
Forced to play with my wife's Ipad2. I still prefer the Gtablet.
Ouch. Sounds like backlight crapped the bed. Suck. Well at least you got spare parts now :/

Gtablet up and ruuning. Gave it a moderate slap in the rear and the screen lit up again.
The connection must be slightly loose. I did drop it 2 months ago.
When I get my Woot tablet tomorrow, I'm going to take a look under the hood
Thanks for all your replies and encouragement.

[Q] My Screen just turned blue!

Hi Guys,
I'm sorry if this problem has already been posted/solved/noted here, but I was unable to find any solution to this so posting it here.
I'm using my Galaxy S2 for the past couple of months and it worked perfectly till now. Today after coming from office, I plugged in the charger and left the phone alone for 15-20 mins. After I came back, I noticed that the screen was totally BLUE! Blue as in bright peacock blue, and not a tint or a smudge or a part of the screen which was blue, but the entire screen was blue! On looking closely at the screen, I noticed that underneath all the bluishness, the original wallpaper and apps were still visible. I tried clicking on a couple of apps and they appeared to be working fine underneath. I shut the phone down normally and reinserted the battery and it is fine since then. No blue screen or anything.
I am using Cognition ROM 1.5.1 for the past month. Any other Cognition user who faced the same problem?
Please let me know. Thanks!
Mine turned green (no and not colour blind) the other day. rebooted and fine since. No themes installed.
Nothing to so with overscroll, which is blue? Or any themes?

mine turned orange a week ago, I rebooted and it was fine.
a month ago my screen went yellow. I just turned it on and after a few seconds the screen went yellow. The same thing happend today when I turned it on, after a few seconds or so it went blue/violet. After i touched the screen the color disappeared. What is the problem?
Lol, this thread looks like a Skittles commercial, any more colours ?
Ok... so we have blue, green, yellow and orange yet. No reds?

On a serious note, I'm not using overscroll or any themes. Any of your guys using anything apart from the custom ROM?
i'm on stock rom..so i think it has nothing to do with rom.
No colour but today while my phone was in its dock as it is every day at work, I touched the front button and the screen lit up in full brightness and up side down? Lock screen and home screen. Took it off the mitac dock and it switched back. The one and only time I have seen this.

2 days ago, watching a flash video via browser on Cognition 1.51 and.....
..... BRIGHT BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A reboot and all is fine.
KH3 problem?

Has anyone noticed any screen burn in?

This is most noticeable for me after I use Chrome. I was just using it for about 20 minutes and then went to the home screen, and I could see the URL on the home screen at about 30% opacity. I rotated my screen and even took a picture to double check that it is an actual burn in and not just the app being weird, and it doesn't rotate with my tablet or show up in the screenshot so it is most definitely a burn in.
Has this happened to anyone else?
I have had no issue with screen burn in. I've had my Prime for a month, using it for a few hours every day.
Sorry to hear of your issue.
This happens to me all the time. It is especially noticeable when I am using the Asus weather widget since it has large white text.
Does it eventually disappear? I imagine it would have to, because otherwise your screen would become unusable.
If it DOES disappear, what causes it to do so? Reboots? Time? Something else?

If it's anything like plasma (but it isn't is it? what would cause burn on this kind of screen?) then time and flashing the screen with solid white will usually dispel the ghost images. New plasma TV's even constantly rotate your pixels (in such small increments you can't notice) around to avoid this kind of thing.
Yup, burn in on my transformer prime too. I use the Air Display app to turn it into a second monitor on my computer at work. After eight hours of windows in one place, I can still see where they were four hours afterwards. No bueno.

How bad is daydream?

I got interested in this feature. I keep my phone at a home made dock and was wondering if having daydream on thus my screen on for 8-9 hours every night is a bad thing or not

Put simply, screen on = battery drain. How much will depend on how much you use it. And there's also burn in to consider if you've constantly got the screen on.
Then again, if you're getting a new phone every 2 yrs, that probably won't be much of an issue. If you're planning on using it longer, it might be.
Edit - It was one of the first things I turned off when I flashed RootBox for those reasons.
As long as its a dark image and moves regularly it shouldn't do any damage. Something like beautiful widgets daydream is a no no as it has a light background
Daydream
A very intersting and useful feature but might drain your battery quickly
I am planning to use it with the charger plugged in. About burn in, I thought SAMOLED screens did not have it?
I will be using the clock daydream by the way

Yep they do suffer burn in. XDA is littered with example of same over the past two years.
The more 'static' & bright the image and the longer you display these images at any one time, the greater the chance of burn in.
But again, if you get a new phone 'regularly', that probably won't bother you.
