Have not accepted any of the OTA updates. I noticed that my weather lockscreen is showing no data. Any ideas?

There really shouldn't be any complex issues with this widget. It has been around for quite a while on many HTC android devices.
I've experienced this issue on my CDMA EVO 3D when there is no signal or intermittent signal, the weather lockscreen will be blank, i.e. no weather. Once I have signal, the easiest fix I've found for this issue is to open up the weather widget and manually force a refresh. After the manually forced refresh, I'm usually in a signal area again and it will start to properly auto refresh.
The only other solution which comes to mind is wiping the widget's stored data directory in the /data partition, forcing the widget to start fresh. This process should clear any random issues occuring with the widget as perhaps a data file or files have become corrupt. But this doesn't seem to happen very often ... or we're all flash a holics and wipe our data too often to notice!
Does the weather widget itself and lockscreen update after forcing a refresh?
Hope that helps!

Sorry, another noobie question and I have tried searching but "weather update" didn't come up with meaningful threads. The weather on my Hero doesn't seem to update automatically unless I open the app itself ie the full screen widget and the one on the clock won't update. If I go into the app it starts to update. Is this normal, a bug or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks
it's a known issue; try adding your home town as a known location in the app, and then it should appear, and update, on the widget.
For some reason my weather widget when i'm at home always says 14 or current location, not the city name anymore. it has the correct name when i travel if i toggle gps and update the weather but never at home. is the anyway way to reset it clear the saved locations? I already tried the HTC weather widget in setting but all cache clearing options and the likes were grayed out. thanks for any help.
Quite common problem for users .... HTC and Verizon deny the problem exists though. I don't know of a definitive fix.
I figured out what it is, for me atleast. I use advanced task killer as im sure many eris users do (i know they say you dont need it but my eris can get sluggish with lots of apps running). I tried just not closing weather and it still gave me the issue, then on a whim I tried not closing the clock app as well. Voila! problem solved. It updates when I change position and the only apps I have running when idling are clock, weather, and atk.
That should solve it, just don't close out clock and weather and it should work.

For right now I wouldn't go force killing ANYTHING that was preinstalled on the phone when you got it. HTC Sense works in odd ways. As for me I only force kill apps that I put on the phone myself and I don't seem to have as many problems now (lockscreen lockups, jittery touch screen, touch screen not working).
I love the gmail widget however.... occasionally the widget stops displaying my emails. All I get is an option to view more conversations. At times locking the device and going back in re populates the widget. Other times I actually have to remove and re-add the widget. Is anyone else experiencing this and is there a permanent fix?
Yes, I got the same problem too. When I wait then it reverses alone and shows me mails. Just be patient.
i have same problem but with one clock widget. When i lock desktop after some time widget stop to work properly.
How can u force a location change on thus thing? Although I have refreshed the weather it still shows a weather of a different city I was many hours ago.
sent with SGS3
EDIT: before you go down and read the last page, as 99% of the posts are irrelevant, what i had to do in the interim for both of these is this:
1) go to the search cities through the widget and re-add the current location screen which immediately found my location
2) once this was done, the lockscreen was still stuck on the previous location, and this was solved by a restart.
Unfortunately forcing an update on the weather, did not change the location. Turning on the GPS did not either. Therefore im not sure if the update frequency changes this would allow for more accurate location service, or its a small bug that samsung needs to look into.

Weather widget is not updating
I notice the GPS turn on at same time weather widget is scheduled automatic update (1 hour), does yours? I also have weather on the lockscreen.
Search first before posting new needless threads.

First Samsung phone so maybe this is a Samsung thing. But, on my HTc phones my clock/weather widget would always update with current location and weather details. With the SIII I have to manually tap into it, then refresh it. At that point it updates the weather, but not location. Work in downtown Dallas and live in one of the burbs and the widget doesn't update location at same time as weather.
What am I missing?
Thanks.
You have to set the refresh manually since the default is to never auto refresh. Just tap the weather widget and go into settings, you'll see a spot there to set the frequency of the refresh. Used to HTC phones also, so I was wondering why the weather would never refresh heh.
