Maybe electrical interference?
Move the tablet away from any other electronic devices (especially mobile phones) and see if it persists.

It hasnt really been near any phones..my phone is about 1 foot away from the touchpad..I have had it closer before and it hasn't made a noise..

I think I know what you mean, the sound is like a short buzz or "Donk" sound. I sometimes get it when I first click on the pad or when I swipe up to close an app.
The only thing I can think of that I did was installing the increase sound patch and later removed the patch. It started after that.

I got this after going through various patches, although I didn't install the sound patch. It went away for me after a few reboots.
To the OP, you may have abnormally good hearing and can hear the white noise speakers make when they're activated, try it with some other devices, see if you hear the same buzz, if not, call HP and get a replacement.

Touchpad weird sound
Ok so i just got my Touchpad 16GB yesterday and while i was playing around with it, i noticed it doing a weird sound like when those old speakers where powered on. I updated to 3.0.2 and it still does it.
Ps: Its not the WEE easteregg sound

Not sure what sound you mean but it shouldn't be making any noises you don't want it to. Get in touch with HP to see if they can fix it for you.

Well, i bought it from ebay (from canada) so im not sure if they will even think about checking it.
It makes that sound only when its not in 'mute' and when im using it. When the screen is locked, nothing happens. It sounds like a little shutter noise of half a second length.

Speakers Get Stuck Playing Loud Noise

Hi guys,
I just followed the instructions on wiping my new G-Tablet device, putting Clockworkmod on it, then I put the latest edition of Vegan lite. It's AWESOME (WAY better than the original!).
Only thing is (and I had this problem when I tried rooting my device once before this after getting it brand new), 1-2 times I've had the speakers just play a loud noise constantly and I have to turn the device off and on.
The second time was early this morning (6am-ish). I had my alarm set for that time and instead of playing the alarm sound I chose, it just constantly played a loud noise that I couldn't stop. Anyone heard of this?

if the sound is a static sssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sound that happehearden any audio is supposed to be heard yes, I've seen this. It doesnt always happen but after a while it starts making that noise when audio is supposed to be heard.
I bought 2 off of Woot and 1 had this problem. I read somewhere on these forums that it seems to be a hardware issue that only seems to affect a handful of g tabs. Woot gave me an rma for it and is replacing it.

I had the problem with the stock rom and with TNT lite, it wasn't that big of a deal because a reboot would take care of it, but it bothered me because even with the volume turned all of the way down the static sound was loud. I would just feel rude if it did that on a flight or in class....

[Q] How to fix the speaker volume?

Hey guys,
I've been having an issue with the volume on my phone. There is very little sound coming out through the speaker on the back. To be able to hear anything at all, I have to stick the speaker right up to my hear and even then you can barely hear any sound even though I've put the volume on max. When I plug headphones in, the sound is fine. Only when I'm trying to listen to music without earphones or trying to hear my notifications and ringtone when someone calls me, it gets very little sound. I'm using AOKP Jelly Bean 4.1.2 if that helps. This starting happening when I was using my Nike+ Running app. Music was playing while I was running and then all of a sudden the music stops. I found out that it didn't stop because my music was still going when I plugged in headphones and the sound was still coming out of the speaker but very low that you could not hear it. If you guys have a solution, please help me out. Thanks.
I did have something familiar and was the headphones cable not properly connected...

I'm assuming you've tried doing a full wipe before posting this question, as if that fixed there would be no reason to post this question? If not, do that. That's always a trouble shooting step that should be done before posting. If it doesn't fix it, it could be a hardware issue.

That was my last resort because I dont want to go through a full wipe but I'll try it.
Edit: Did a full wipe as well as unroot. Still doesnt work so I assume it is a hardware issue. Thanks for the help guys.

Well that sucks man. Hope you can get it fixed. Apparently mobiletechvideos fixes phones for relatively cheap, could try them.

Had the same problem on a captivate one time. There was lint in the port for the headphones. Cleaned it out and speaker started working again.

Faint popping sound

Anyone else hear a faint popping sound after 2 seconds of any sound being played ? It sounds like the sound is from the speakers turning off.
Hey
My HTC One does this as well (started a thread about it just recently), and it was the first thing I noticed on the phone when using sound on the keyboard. Extremely annoying and seems to be a wide spread issue.
wide spread? where else have you heard of this problem? does it happen on the international version as well?
Wondering if i should return mine and get another.
Other users have been reporting the issue as well. I'm located in Canada, and members from the US have said their phones have the same problem.
Yea just read your post on the international forum, seem like a widespread issue. Well I hope its just software

I was just coming here to post a thread about this. I notice it when playing music too (Pandora and DI.FM) it pops/static every second or so.

I hear a little tiny sound that plays immediately after sound stopping, but it's certainly not 2 seconds, that sounds like a problem
ATT HTC one that I just bought.
software version 1.26.502.10

Not sure, if I do have it I don't seem to be able to notice it. Where is it most prominent, I tested by starting and stopping Pandora repeatedly.
I believe it is the software keeping the amp on for a bit too long. I would assume this will be fixed with a software update

Make sure you are in a very quiet room, then play something on youtube, then hit pause, and listen very carefully. you should hear a faint popping sound as the speakers turn off after you pause the video.
let me know !
thanks

Ah, I can hear it now. In Pandora as well. Personally it's of a low enough volume level on my device where I don't think I'll find it annoying, but I still hope it's software related. Also seems to not be effected by the volume level or beats being on.
My speakers crackle and pop when I watch a music type video on YouTube...I havent been able to replicate it on Netflix, hbogo or regular music app...just on YouTube....of course since I unlocked I can't return for replacement

yes i also have this problem. unlock the phone and put ur ear upto the speaker. you will hear static and after a second or 2, a pop. almost like speakers are left on longer than requred...weird.
I could verify, I too was getting that popping sound. It's one of the first things I've noticed as soon as I got the phone home. I'm not trying to be overly OCD cause overall I think this phone is perfect and has none of the other flaws and defect mention on this site.
But I thought I should mention I haven't been able to replicate the popping sound.

Popping sound is gone now. I haven't changed anything but it seems to be gone for now. Maybe it needed a reboot or something? Or maybe because my battery is almost dead...

Sound pop fixable in software?

I noticed last night while using my phone in my quiet room that I too have the faint pop 3 seconds after a sound plays. I've found several threads on here and elsewhere relating to the HTC One and other phones having the same issue. It appears to be an OS issue rather than a specific phone or hardware issue. Some have explained that it's the amplifier shutting off after the sound has played. It's not a dealbreaker and definitely a first world problem, but this is my first Android phone after using only iPhones for the last 5 years and it is very annoying when you hear it and cant get rid of it. I also noticed this happens even if I have the sound completely off! Is this a fixable thing by google or a clever patcher?
Wow... I had never noticed this and if it weren't for this thread I probably wouldn't have. After a sound plays, it sounds like there is a sort of "static" (for lack of a better term) that plays until something shuts off. It's like on the old cassette players - the difference between the end of a tape that's playing versus having the player turned off. Weird. I really don't know what to make of it.

It's called beats audio...
It happens without beats and HTC are aware of it.
Mine does it as well, noticed it the first day I had it.

(Z5 Compact / E5823) Speaker volume lowering itself

Greetings.
Just bought the Z5C. Phone is awesome, but when I play anything over the speakers (incoming call, music, etc.) the volume is good for about a second, and then it turns very silent.
Anyone experienced this, or knows something about the issue?

Hey! I had this same issue for the first day that I had the phone. It was driving me crazy. What drives me even more crazy is I don't what I did to fix it. I am not entirely sure, but I noticed a difference after pairing the Z5C to a bluetooth speaker for about 30 minutes. When I unpaired and went back to the speakers on the phone they were substantially better. Hope this helps...

I was trying different things on my phone and decided to factory reset it. After it rebooted the same problem is back. Low volume for second, then super quiet. I tried replicating the same process I thought somehow fixed the issue before and it didn't help. I've tried messing with all the audio settings, toggles here and there but nothing seems to fix it. I wonder what this might be and why the phone all of a sudden started working like it should last time. Any help would be much appreciated.
Hi, I had the same problem with lower sound from speakers after 30 seconds. After disabling "STAMINA" the speakers are very loud. And if you put "Audio settings" to "standby aktive" you could even activate "STAMINA" without speaker loudness problems
Yeah happened to me yesterday as I was listening to the Radio app while on a walk. Went from relatively loud to super low quiet. I thought maybe I pocket bumped the volume or something.
Same problem. In my case, I noticed audio almost stops from one of the speakers (sometimes the top one, sometimes the bottom one, wich indicates it may not be a hardware issue). Happens on games, music, videos, or calls with the speaker on. Seems to be random.
searching for this problem (this is also happening to me (mostly top speaker while i playing and mostly games
is only one speaker(top) for me not 2 speakers
(maybe the heat? if im not the only one is hardware or software? ) it was at 5.1.1 so updated to 6.0 still the same.. maybe speaker wont working well while heated? tried to shake the device thought maybe something loose connection inside
