Hi guys,
I just followed the instructions on wiping my new G-Tablet device, putting Clockworkmod on it, then I put the latest edition of Vegan lite. It's AWESOME (WAY better than the original!).
Only thing is (and I had this problem when I tried rooting my device once before this after getting it brand new), 1-2 times I've had the speakers just play a loud noise constantly and I have to turn the device off and on.
The second time was early this morning (6am-ish). I had my alarm set for that time and instead of playing the alarm sound I chose, it just constantly played a loud noise that I couldn't stop. Anyone heard of this?

if the sound is a static sssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sound that happehearden any audio is supposed to be heard yes, I've seen this. It doesnt always happen but after a while it starts making that noise when audio is supposed to be heard.
I bought 2 off of Woot and 1 had this problem. I read somewhere on these forums that it seems to be a hardware issue that only seems to affect a handful of g tabs. Woot gave me an rma for it and is replacing it.

I had the problem with the stock rom and with TNT lite, it wasn't that big of a deal because a reboot would take care of it, but it bothered me because even with the volume turned all of the way down the static sound was loud. I would just feel rude if it did that on a flight or in class....

Maybe electrical interference?
Move the tablet away from any other electronic devices (especially mobile phones) and see if it persists.
It hasnt really been near any phones..my phone is about 1 foot away from the touchpad..I have had it closer before and it hasn't made a noise..
I think I know what you mean, the sound is like a short buzz or "Donk" sound. I sometimes get it when I first click on the pad or when I swipe up to close an app.
The only thing I can think of that I did was installing the increase sound patch and later removed the patch. It started after that.

I got this after going through various patches, although I didn't install the sound patch. It went away for me after a few reboots.
To the OP, you may have abnormally good hearing and can hear the white noise speakers make when they're activated, try it with some other devices, see if you hear the same buzz, if not, call HP and get a replacement.

Touchpad weird sound
Ok so i just got my Touchpad 16GB yesterday and while i was playing around with it, i noticed it doing a weird sound like when those old speakers where powered on. I updated to 3.0.2 and it still does it.
Ps: Its not the WEE easteregg sound
Not sure what sound you mean but it shouldn't be making any noises you don't want it to. Get in touch with HP to see if they can fix it for you.

Well, i bought it from ebay (from canada) so im not sure if they will even think about checking it.
It makes that sound only when its not in 'mute' and when im using it. When the screen is locked, nothing happens. It sounds like a little shutter noise of half a second length.
I noticed that my NT seems to emit a faint "clicking" noise every few seconds when the tablet is on but in sleep mode.
Anybody else experiencing this?
Does not seem to happen while the screen is on, only when the screen is off. Also seems to disappear when WIFI is turned off.
Just wondering if somebody can check their NT and see if they hear the same thing... need reasonably quiet surroundings.
Now that you mention it, I have also noticed that. I believe I was running stock 1.4.1 at the time. Currently back on 1.4.0 and I haven't heard it...
Thanks for the info, I am on 1.4.1 myself (out of the box). I'll wait in hope for some more feedback and if it seems to be the case, I'll drop down to 1.4.0.
Haven't heard it but it could very likely be a B&N program that is running in the background. Perhaps it has something to do with the 1.4.1 update and the frequency of the wi-fi checking for updates?
Actually, I need to retract my earlier statement. I was just listening to music so I had my headphones in. Sure enough, when I kicked it into standby, the clicking came back.
Going back to 1.4.0 does not solve the issue.
My OTA timer is disabled...
So that makes two cases now... I am wondering if all NT's are doing this. I kinda PO'd I just got my Otterbox and spent great effort getting my screen protector on nearly perfect.
Never heard this before because my NT's speaker sat flat on whatever it was sleeping on. But the Otterbox elevates it, so I started hearing the clicking when it was sleeping on the table beside me.
If it's a common bug on all NT's... hopefully CM7 will resolve it!
Ok I am hearing it and it is not a constant click either its quite random for me. But I am not going to let it bother me at all to be honest.
I haven't heard anything like that with mine I'm running CM7 and i get a slight pop in my earphones when audio kicks in but nothing major.
Probably because CM7 has different WiFi settings... it's definitely tied to the WiFi. AdamOutler suggested tweaking the Wifi .INI file and it has made the clicks more apparent (it's the WiFi kicking in and out).
Hopefully he can find the way to get it to sleep properly... and thus save battery!
Rooted 1.40 and I have not noticed any clicks.
Bill
Bill, if you can try plugging in some headphones and then going into standby/sleep... the clicks are more pronounced through headphones.
I noticed the click as well, this also happens to my PC LG monitor and my LG Optimus 2x when using the headphones.
Rooted 1.4.0

No, only when I press wake up button or when the sound stop/begins.
I'm not sure, but maybe it's the headphones? Too much coincidence to happen on 3 different devices here.
I user Razer Moray earphones, it has noise canceling something built in, maybe this is the culprit. I have other Philips earphones laying around, I'll test them on the tablet to see if this happens too.
Hi I am rooted...not running the CM7 yet...but I have noticed it when I have the the sound muted and I am playing words with friends. This was also doing it before I was rooted as well. I have not noticed it sleep mode. this only happens though for me when I have all sounds and notifications muted.

Put the tablet into sleep/standby mode (using short power button press) with WiFi on and no music playing and see if you get the click every few seconds.

No clicks on sleep/standby mode under these conditions.
Either it's a problem on some NT's or not everybody has good ears.
hmm ok now I am not getting the clicking and I have not changed any of the settings or anything on the tablet. So I do not know how it vanished but it has for now.
Rooted 1.4.0 and I hear the clicking with either headphones or if I plug it into an external speaker.
Greetings.
Just bought the Z5C. Phone is awesome, but when I play anything over the speakers (incoming call, music, etc.) the volume is good for about a second, and then it turns very silent.
Anyone experienced this, or knows something about the issue?

Hey! I had this same issue for the first day that I had the phone. It was driving me crazy. What drives me even more crazy is I don't what I did to fix it. I am not entirely sure, but I noticed a difference after pairing the Z5C to a bluetooth speaker for about 30 minutes. When I unpaired and went back to the speakers on the phone they were substantially better. Hope this helps...

I was trying different things on my phone and decided to factory reset it. After it rebooted the same problem is back. Low volume for second, then super quiet. I tried replicating the same process I thought somehow fixed the issue before and it didn't help. I've tried messing with all the audio settings, toggles here and there but nothing seems to fix it. I wonder what this might be and why the phone all of a sudden started working like it should last time. Any help would be much appreciated.
Hi, I had the same problem with lower sound from speakers after 30 seconds. After disabling "STAMINA" the speakers are very loud. And if you put "Audio settings" to "standby aktive" you could even activate "STAMINA" without speaker loudness problems
Yeah happened to me yesterday as I was listening to the Radio app while on a walk. Went from relatively loud to super low quiet. I thought maybe I pocket bumped the volume or something.
Same problem. In my case, I noticed audio almost stops from one of the speakers (sometimes the top one, sometimes the bottom one, wich indicates it may not be a hardware issue). Happens on games, music, videos, or calls with the speaker on. Seems to be random.
searching for this problem (this is also happening to me (mostly top speaker while i playing and mostly games
is only one speaker(top) for me not 2 speakers
(maybe the heat? if im not the only one is hardware or software? ) it was at 5.1.1 so updated to 6.0 still the same.. maybe speaker wont working well while heated? tried to shake the device thought maybe something loose connection inside

anyone know how to fix it? at my case its only TOP speaker

Hey everyone, I have the T-Mobile version of the galaxy s9 plus. The past few days I've come across something really weird... sometimes while im watching a video or listening to music or playing a game, basically everything that involves sound, there is a weird static, crackling noise. At first when it happened I though my headphones were screwed because they are kinda old, but afterwards realized that its the phone in general because both speakers make the same noise. I tried bunch of things in the audio settings to see if maybe dolby atmos was the issue or whatever but nothing fixed it. It is really really annoying because it happens frequently and it sucks while im listening to music at work or watching netflix or anything like that. Just wondering if any of you guys have any fixes or have seen that issue or experienced it. Thanks in advance.

I am also having sound issues. Mine, however, are bit different: sound coming from headphones is distorted, muffled as if it was coming from inside of a box. No matter the sound source (Spotify, YouTube, mp3 on the phone).
Interestingly enough, after I restart the phone, sound is back to normal... For 20 seconds <,<
Speakers are fine though.
Mine is on PHN firmware

I'm also having issues with sound on my S9+, Exynos version. I've hade mine for a few days and discovered the first evening that there was some annoying static noise when I played some videos I had shot with the camera. I immediately called Samsung support and the advice I got there was to reset the camera app and shut down the phone for about 2 minutes and then restart it. That seemed a while to have solved the problem until I tonight discovered that the sound came and went from some other video clips I had shot tonight. I have now made a factory reset of the phone and will see if that was sufficient or not . Besides this I haven't experienced any other issues. What I however fear is causing this is Dolby Atmos , but I may be wrong of course. In worst case I'll have to return the phone if this problem continues.

Wow... well please follow up here if resetting the phone fixes the issue, so I can try it too. I also realized the past few days that I have a wi-fi issue so the phone just doesn't stop with the problems Whenever im on Wi-Fi and I go on any social media app like facebook twitter youtube etc my wi-fi cuts off showing there is no internet... and I know its not a problem on my end because I have many people connected and they are all using the wi-fi fine...
I had the exact same problem with mine, but it only started happening after putting an ad card in., when I took the sd card out, it fixed itself and I haven't had a problem since, so try that. If it works it works, if not it was worth a try
This issue sounds like a rising case for a recall. Send it back to the service center.
have a similar issue but mine is a little different, when i only play music it works fine, but the minute i start a game for example words with friends 2 the crackling noise starts. If i minimize the game the sound is gone.
Currently having the same peoblem with mine. Any tips on how to troubleshoot?
Same issue on my Verizon s9+
I have the exact same problem on my Verizon Galaxy S9 Plus. But it only happens with Dolby Atmos on. The crackling sound and static goes completely away and never happens when I have Dolby Atmos off.
Did anyone have and solutions for this as I'm having a similar issue with the Note9 and have had the issue on two handsets.
I've got a weird issue with the sound on my s9+. Every now and then the sound will dip as if a notification has arrived, except it hasn't. Does it in all apps.

Hello everyone,
I recently got my LGV30, about 2 days ago, brand new, but from a 3rd party seller, and I noticed a very minor poping or "crackling" -- I'd like to call it more of a microcrackle than anything -- issue with the audio that happens . Specifically, when I open up the google browser, and hit the microphone icon on the search bar, about once every 10 or so times (its honestly random) I hear a micro pop or crackle in my speaker, for literally 1/4th of a second, then everything works like normal. It either happens right before the "beep" sound when the microphone icon is pushed, or just after the "beep" after it has been used, or both. It happens more often before I'm going to say something, or immediately after I'm done speaking as it types out what I said. Again, this is a very small "pop" the "ding" sound from pressing the mic still works, it just sounds a tiny bit distorted when first pressing it. Similarly, when using Gboard, and trying speech to text on the Messenger app, I hear the damn microcrackle again.
Here's the crazy thing though, I have ran about 5-6 videos on youtube that are supposed to be speaker tests (high and low frequency noise), everything sounds great. I have listened to over 10 hours of video/music and only once noticed a tiny bit of crackling, but honestly It was so quick that I'm not really sure if it wasn't just the song playing. I also have not noticed it with headphones but will continue to test this. I also picked up another android phone I had years ago, the Moto G4 Play, and tried to replicate the issue, to my surprise, my MotoG4 play has a similar issue, but its significantly more quiet than my LG. In the Moto's case, I press the microphone icon on the keyboard and I hear more of a "buzzing" sound immediately after, then, once I stop talking and hear the closing "beep" of the microphone, again, the buzzing sound. Much quieter, and likely why I never noticed it at all when using that device.
I'm just wondering if you all think this is a software issue, or a hardware issue? I have made several phone calls, people say I sound good, and I can hear them fine. I feel like something is happening when I press that button, as it doens't happen at ANY OTHER time when using audio. I'm thinking it might be the microphone "poping" itself awake? Maybe? I don't really know how this works.
Should I go through the trouble of returning the phone over this, or trying to get an exchange? It wouldn't be easy, since I bought the phone brand new off Ebay, and would need to contact seller (has 30 day money back guarantee).
Please let me know.
Thanks!
