My phone memory is already ext4. I have also created an SD Partition using CWM. This was working on KPH Coderom.v2x-2b. How can I fix this?

Did you allow root access when superuser prompted?

Yes but looks like. The rom doesn't have a2sd preinstalled. So I installed it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715116
Then enabled it using A2SDGui. My Ext Partition is 2GB but A2SDGui only sees 24MB :|

I guess you can try to format your card again in ext3 format and try again.

Hi there,
after your first post (Exiting message of a2sdgui), you dont talk about the solution to this probleme, so after you talk about problems in the a2sdgui determination of the ext3 space.

[Q] Easier way for Data2Ext?

Is there an easier way to active data2ext that I just haven't figured out yet?
Everytime I try a new rom I have to flash data2ext and run the full list of commands in terminal emulator...is there something I'm missing that makes the process a whole lot quicker?
yea, use link2sd
Is that the same as data2ext? I can get my 1 gig of internal memory?

Yesjust backup your whole SD card to your computer and format your sdcard, next in recovery go to advanced/partition SD card and pick what size you want, then download and open link2sd and pick ext 3, reboot your phone and reload your SD card from your computer to your phone, and you will be able to link all of your user apps to your sdcard, giving you virtually unlimited space.

Personally, I like data2ext far better than link2sd

data2ext automatically installs everything to sd. link2sd you can customize which programs to send to sd.
havntt tried data2ext, but link2sd works for me, they added a multiselect option recently and you just move all your apps in one go, i have maybe 40 apps and 230mb on my ext, and 60/200mb or so on my internal

Flyer Partitions

I'm considering a flyer to replace my galaxy tab (the original gt-p1000 with 16GB storage).
The galaxy tab has basically the following layout :
2 GB approb -> mounted as /data
13 GB approx -> mounted as /sdcard
& the rest as the various /dbdata /system & cache partitions.
How are the partitions set up in the case of the flyer ? Is it similar to the tab ?
I'm ok with the layout of the tab although I would've preferred the sizes of the /data & /sdcard to be flipped so that I didn't need to bother about ever running out of space when installing large games & apps.
Also, once you upgrade to honeycomb, is the partition layout changed ? I've read that honeycomb changed the way you could access the internal storage. I'll be accessing the tab mostly in windows which had mtp drivers built in.
Anyone used the flyer with linux ? Any problems / points to consider ?
Thanks

can someone just use adb & let me know the output ?
Code:
adb shell df >> /sdcard/partitions.txt
adb pull /sdcard/partitions.txt
OR
Code:
adb shell mount >> /sdcard/partitions.txt
adb pull /sdcard/partitions.txt

Are you sure?
Did you validate this with general > sticky roll-up thread > "flashed 4.2? Can't find /sdcard data?"

I think menu is not displayed or by a compiling error or a problem with hardware buttons... I will try to fix.
I cannot know if sd ext work for the reason of menu.
Hopefully you can successfully completed this CWM! Keep up the good work mate!

The sd card problem is in the kernel i think. The mmcblk1 is not mounted by the kernel, so probably also CWM have the same problem like Cyanogen and TWRP recovery. I'm trying to understand how mmcblk partitions are mounted by the kernel and solve the problem.

Question Back up with Macrium Reflect free on Win11

Hello, I bought a new laptop, installed windows 11 and all the programs I need, the computer doesn't need anything else and from now on I would like to save the system and all the programs installed in case of unexpected events.
I downloaded Macrium Reflect free (it's in Italian but I couldn't choose at the time of installation).
Now I'll explain my doubts; I have a 1tb external hard drive, with Mini Partition Tools I created two partitions, one of 100 gb in which I thought of saving the data and the other of about 800 gb that I would like to use to keep the games and programs that I rarely use, in your opinion is it ok to create a backup in a partition of an external hdd? Can it work? Can I format a pc by making it choose the iso from a hdd partition?
I created a backup and had Macrium verify the iso, it says everything is fine.
Another question, in the Macrium screenshot you can see the ssd on which the operating system is installed, the first one in the list (the one with the ticks), when you do a backup, you have to include all those partitions or you only need the one where the operating system is installed?
Third and last question, I'm doing all this in case I have problems with the PC and I want to format and re-install everything, to do this, what should I do? A backup? Create a system image ? Or other options?
Thanks to anyone willing to read and help me out.
