I have followed the directions from here and cannot get the Gapps to install. I Have tried several different versions of Gapps, wiped and reinstalled CM7 several times, and this morning took my phone back to stock, rooted, and started all over with the CM7 update. Still cant get google apps to install. Any suggestions? I'm stuck here.
thanks in advance!

Then power button menu...reboot recovery, flash gapps zip and reboot!...you may have had a bad download, or were accidentally trying to flash it from the three finger salute recovery...idk, but this should work.

Try toggling signature verification in recovery then flash GAPPS!

I just reflashed cm7 because I wanted the original kernel with it. I tried nemesis's and wanted to go back to jt's. After flashing I have no gapps, no market, no gmail or anything. I tried wiping again and reflashing with no luck. Help! How do I get my market back??
Did you flash the gapps file?
Oops, didn't realize they weren't included in this version. Please delete thread!
.
I had the same issue, except it was from an improper install.
If anyone is having this issue:
Flash CM7, reboot (it will all load up), once you have rebooted, on your home screen press the power button (reboot-->recovery), then go into recovery and flash gapps
I flashed gapps right after flashing CM7 and my gapps wasn't working, so I reflashed CM7 and followed the steps above, now its working!
Hi all.
I've got a small postcount that's due I prefer not to re-invent the wheel and search for solutions instead of asking zillions question, but now I nned to ask as I'm about to give up reverting from CM10 back to CM9 and going through problems I have met./
I've got a few issues when reverting from cm10a back to cm9.
1. I;ve done a full wipe, dalvik wipe, and cache wipe. I ODIN-flashed CWM 6 (default in CM10) back to 5.0.0.4. The CWM 5 however works only during first reboot, second reboot gets me to CWM 6. (weird?)
2. This probalby causes problems with installing gapps (20120429). After flashing gapps, Market and Gmail are sometimes visible in the app drawer but after any of them gets tapped the app closes itself. Sometimes these are not in the app drawer at all.
3. No proper installation of gapps probably causes situation where there's no option to add Gmail account in Acc&Sync and my device is of course not synced to google at all.
4. Despite if I use CWM 5 or 6 and re-reflash CM9 and gapps there's still no (or non-functioning) gmail, market, and no option to sync to google.
Please, what procedure should I follow to get rid of (apparently) two CWMs and have gapps and sync working.
Thanks for any response.

Don't flash the recovery from Odin. Use the stock recovery that comes with cm (v6.0.1.1).
What you better do is try doing a full wipe again (wipe data AND /system from the advanced menu from the recovery), flash CM10, then the latest JB GApps (if you want CM10).
If that doesn't work, try to flash a stock Samsung ROM (via Odin, obviously), then do everything all over again, by following instruction from CM10 OP.

Thanks for suggestion.
I've flashed with stock ICS then started with CM from the scratch and now all works as it should.
Cheers.
I have a sch-i500 that is rooted with cwm working.
I am very interested in running liquid smooth v 2.9 found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2245120
so I did a format, wiped the cache and davlik. when I installed the zip from external sd card the phone immediately gave me a screen for CWM v 6.0.3.3.
I can still navigate and restore old back ups but the phone does not go past the Samsung logo on the boot screen. Any advice is appreciated.
I was previously running stock 2.3.5 E09 if that helps

Oh so close.
When coming from 2.3.x ROM you will need to flash the rom (liquid: or other 4.2.x) you will need to flash 2 more times...
The 1st flash get you into the new recovery only,,, as you found out.
2nd flash will pop up with an error message about incompatible partition and telling you to re-flash again,,,
So 3rd flash actually installs your new ROM
Then install a current/compatible Google gapps
.
Enjoy
.
Thank you, I am getting closer.
still on the second and third flash of the rom I get a satus 7 error which I think is a bootloader issue.
I have flashed the GBbootloader.tar through odid to no avail and am following Section:4 How to flash any ICS 4.0.x & 4.x.x JellyBean based rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1238070
anythoughts?

what does the error say besides status 7?
did you odin the CWM4 fixed for cm7 then install the ROM 3 times?
can you get a pic up for us to see?
just to be sure......using odin, I repartitioned with the pit, and flashed a E03 rom. rebooted the phone fine.
flashed the CWM4 fix for 7 and redid the GB bootloaders as well.
went into recovery and factory reset, wiped cache, and dalvik.
installed liquid-JB-v2.7-Official-fascinatemtd.zip this time first time took me directly to clockwork where I flashed again. prompted with install from sdcard complete. repeated and got same message.
factory reset, wipe, wipe and flashed gapps. Everything seems to have worked this time with the v2.7Official instead of 2.9. I will play with this for just a bit and probably try it again tonight with a fresh downloaded copy of v2.9. I really do appreciate your assistance and help and I would not have gotten this far without the forum.
update:
flawless installation of v2.9 since 2.7 was already installed. (installed via cloclwork mod recovery)
It was most likely an operator error that prevented me from installing 2.9 after E03. But I don't see the benefit of going back to recreate why it didn't work. Thanks again all is good and right.
I've been trying to install the most recent PAC Rom nightlies on a stock, rooted phone. I'm using the newest TWRP to flash it. The flash goes through fine, so I wipe cache/dalvik. When I reboot my phone it gets stuck in the PAC rom loading screen.
What should I try?
Thank you.
Did you do a full wipe/factory reset before flashing the rom?
I did. Somehow it decided to work when I tried again. Newest TWRP was messing with the install. Had to try several times for it to work.
I believe there was issues with the latest TWRP recovery. The previous build worked better. Switched over to Phil Cwm and haven't really gone back since.

Hi;
So i recently installed CyanogenMod 13.0 on to my Samsung S4 GT-I9505 using the first download link on:
https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=jfltexx --> cm-13.0-20160102-NIGHTLY-jfltexx.zip
That all installed fine, but i wanted to get the Google apps installed aswell, which is where i am having some issues.
I have been trying to install the following package:
http://opengapps.org/?api=6.0&variant=nano
but have also tried to install quite a few others as well, and all have exactly the same issue. Basically after the apps have been installed and i boot the device up, i get various error messages like:
unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped
unfortunately, google play services has stopped
Any help on fixing this would be much appreciated, as nothing seems to download from the play store thats included in Cyanogen, they just say "your download will begin shortly" but never does.
Thanks in advance
I am a total noob, but I had exactly this problem. The issue appears to be that you have to flash gapps *before* rebooting after flashing CM. In my case since I had already flashed CM before I flashed gapps I had to put the gapps file on the phone (I did this by push with adb, you might find an easier way), re-flash CM, wipe cache/dalvik, flash gapps, wipe cache/dalvik, reboot. It worked.
The easiest guide I found was on androiding.how, called "how to install cm13 (cyanogenmod13)." (The forum won't let me post a link, just google it, it should come up).
Hope that helps. I'm on a galaxy s5 and used twrp recovery if that matters.

Thanks for the reply, i gave that a try and it seems to be stuck on a loop now with "installing app # of 22" . it completes the installation and then reboots, after about 5 minutes on the Cyanogen boot screen, it goes back to installing apps again.
Hm, did you do a factory reset in your recovery before re-flashing CM and gapps? If not, that might be necessary.

Yeah, i did. Tried it multiple times now
That's about the limit of my ability right there, hopefully someone with more experience than me can point you in the right direction. Good luck.
Boot to recovery (preferably TWRP)
Wipe cache / dalvik cache / data / system
Flash CM13 and the gapps you were trying first
Reboot
Profit!
Since you keep flashing different gapps on top of the system, this is probably causing some issues. Once you fully wipe and reflash everything, it should work.

Ive tried that multiple times using twrp (i always wipe everything before i flash CM13 and gapps), i still get the exact same issue. The second the phone boots, i get all these "unfortunately ******** has stopped".
Perhaps try installing 12.1 with gapps, get it all updated then upgrade to 13. I did the accidental upgrade to 13 but have had no issues whatsoever.
